I read that she brought her friend Gwen Stafani to one of their shows and then Gwen brought back some record producers and that's when they started to cast the group. She was with them since 1995. And we all know why she left the Dolls, but it was so professional of her to go out respectfully. Judging by the second Dolls Album.. ya. I would have left too. It was all about Nicole.

No, I don't think a lot of Girl Groups or even any pop act including many boy bands would ever have been successful without the Spice Girls leading they way for them. The Spice girls brought pop music back to the main stream, so I don't think Miley Cyrus or even the Jonas Bros would even be hear had the Spice Girls not had been successful.

You talk about pop as if was a rarity in the 90's music. I agree grunge and alternative rock were really important in that decade, but pop didn't lose its popularity. Or what do you really mean?  I'm also confused about you mentioning the Spice Girls opened way to both groups and soloists...because then you would also have to mention Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, who where hits back in 1999 and 2000, and of course, the eternal icon, Madonna.

You clearly don't know your music history. The Spice girls broke out in 1996, before that, Rock, Alternative, Grunge, and R&B dominated the charts. With the success of the Spice Girls, more pop acts began to emerge: Hanson, Backstreet Boys, Nsync, Britney Spears, etc... The Spice Girls brought POP BACK to the mainstream and made it popular again. Christina & Britney's Debut albums were released AFTER the Spice Girls brought POP Back to the 90's. After the 80's, pop started to fade, until 96.

nicole has a phenomenal vocal range, with the ability to hit a high Bb in full voice (below soprano high C) as well as the ability to sing into the whistle register. she just doesn't use her abilities often, and back in these days, she was going for a rougher and grittier sound....the shouting was intentional!
