i love the movie the part that i almost cryed on is were the kill a inocent man people say hes a beast but hes not hes an beautiful man and the girl loves him he got her in the competition that she always wanted and that was a touching song!!!!!!!!!WATCH THE MOVIE
I grew up watching this movie and many others produced by the company that made this such as: The buttercreme gang, in your wildest dreams, on our own, anything really from the company featured films for families was a great video to watch they all had good morals to them and were worth watch not like this crap we get today!!!
@readandwaiting18 I'm still a kid, and I'M bothered by the media these days. :'( I would not mind these movies with this.... beauty in them that words could not explain. I LOVE this movie. It's one of the few in existence that can actually make me cry, and it's hard to make me cry.
@WhisperwindPancake 2 things one, LOL, I love your user name. 2, I beat you, I'm 13 and I get it... thinking about it, if I had listened to it when I was 11 I would have got it then too, but I don't think younger than that.

I have loved this movie since i was 3. i can watch it over and over, cry every time and not get bored. now thats a good movie. some people just dnt get it but, it truely beautiful!
@iloveyounixon she is very good! i own the movie. i just watched it not an hour ago and i had this song stuck in my head so i looked it up on youtube... ya, it's the quality. she has an amazing voice.
This is the best movie ever made. I saw this movie for the first time last summer, and I immediately fell in love. I am 12 and I cried the first time I saw it. I know all the songs by heart, and "Let Me In" is the song that will land me a spot in the district musical!. I randomly find myself singing them to myself when it is quiet, and I wish that I could own it. Thank you for uploading all your videos.
Love this movie :D I think my parents bought this for me for reasons...sooo glad they did :D Taught me soo many lessons. Great music, and a story to boot. Glad other people watched this movie as well :D
I love this part because she looks so good, the music suits her, and it decribes her background, very well. I sometimes wonder if the character of Rabaldi simply wrote it for her to allow her to relate to it, because when you have passion for the song, you sing it better (give it a try). And yes i do know it's fiction and was planned, but it's my thoughts.
>> maybe we should try using correct grammar before we criticize peoples singing
-- Maybe YOU (not we) should exercise common understanding when someone makes a typo. Clearly, it was NOT a grammatical error. I grammatical error would not often be an entire omission of a verb + an ending object, nor rarely would it be an incomplete prepositional phrase.
-- Are you my language teacher?
-- What I MEANT TO TYPE was, "At 1:36 she's not singing correctly."
I'm surprised how many people have seen this movie...I've always loved this movie. I like to pull it out of the VHS archives every now and then and it's message continues to hold close...I still get chills from this song. I hope this movie is still available for those of the younger generation...it may not be "hip" but it's powerful
This is by far one of my favorite movies. I can't wait to get my children into it. Even my mother still cries watching this. :) They need to make more movies with the morals this one has.
I loved this movie growing up! Over Christmas break, my best friend that i knew since i was a baby and I got together and watched this on VHS! It was AMAZING!
This movie is really cool! I just think it"s really sad that he gets beat up and he pays money to that village and they take him as a monster. He saved the girl who fell down the waterfall. She is a really good singer. I feel bad for her because this is all going on during she is singing. She doesn't know about it. I have watched this movie a million times, it is such a good movie.

@moleberrybush It means accepting yourself and others despite looks and to trust in your heart. Rigoletto could not remove the uglyness from his face, until he let it leave his heart. Bonnie had to learn to let herself tell the truth even if others disagree and to stand up for what you believe and the town slowly learned that looks were decieving and first appearances meant nothing. It is one of those movies that has new meaning each time you watch and I have watched many times but there is more
I don't think they technically ''killed'' him. He was still alive when they took him to the hospital. He died the next morning, as a result of his injuries.
I love this movie and this song...I remember my friend's little sister and brother used to beg her to sing the "Music box" song, and so for the longest time I thought that's what this song was called! :)
This is one of my favorite movies. Every time that I go to my grandparent's house I watch it and cry at the end. I've been doing it for years and I'm still not tired of it.
This is my absolute favorite movie. I have watched this movie over and over and over. It reminds me of Jesus how he came to save the world. His own people and government rejected him. Ribaldi came to give life back to this town, and his own town for the most part rejected him, and had no clue to what they had done til it was over.

i wish this movie had a bigger budget...the director did great with his limited funds...it makes you imagine what he could have done with more money..
I sang this for a competition and I won. the sad thing about it is, that her music teacher was killed because the town thought he was stealing their homes, but in fact he wasn't he was secretly helping them.
Orr Middle School's choir sung this at their concert last school year, i know this because i was one of the students who sang ! i was awsome i love this song !
were learning this song for our choir concert, the last one in May 12!! I´m soo excited about this song bcuz like its awsome, and the movie was thee BOMB!! The love within myself!! IT FOUND A PLACE EMBRACED BY HARMONY!! :)
loved the movie and the song........near and dear, since my voice teacher also has a physical handicap and hides from the world like rigolotto does.. but such a beautiful spirit he has, and he gave me the confidence to sing my heart out!!!
I had a chance to talk with Ivey Lloyd...she's married and a mom now and she looks back on making the movie with a lot of fondness. She was happy to hear that people still watch this DVD and that it touched so many. My daughter loves the DVD. Nothing less than excellence!
I have the movie soundtrack, and one of the songs is like a reprise of both songs, and it has Bonnie singing the chorus of The Melody Within, while Ribaldi is singing the chorus of The Curse--at the same time.
this song brings back great memories!!! i used to sing this all the time when i was little just to drive my brothers nuts!! lol... thanks for posting it...
Wow I used to watch this part of the movie for hours on and then replay it so I had the song memorized by heart and I could sing it to my family. Thanks so much for posting this. It brings back a lot of memories as a child. My parents cleaned out our movie drawer and I was bummed they tossed out this one so I went looking for it on here. Glad to know its being sold on DVD. I think I'll go buy a copy for myself.
Great song.... remember this movie from when I was thirteen...
I remember feeling a great sense of injustice when this chick won the competition, because she was clearly a far worse singer than the girls who performed before her. When I asked my parents why she won, they replied "I guess because she was singing about love."
this is such a sad movie!!

loved the movie and the song........near and dear, since my voice teacher also has a physical handicap and hides from the world like rigolotto does.. but such a beautiful spirit he has, and he gave me the confidence to sing my heart out!!!

i think we might have had the same teacher. what is the handicap?

And when she sings the chorus for the last time, the background music is the melody of The Curse.

I had a chance to talk with Ivey Lloyd...she's married and a mom now and she looks back on making the movie with a lot of fondness. She was happy to hear that people still watch this DVD and that it touched so many. My daughter loves the DVD. Nothing less than excellence!

Beautiful, I love how it complements the song "The Curse" with the "now i know very well" I wonder how many people made that connection.

I have the movie soundtrack, and one of the songs is like a reprise of both songs, and it has Bonnie singing the chorus of The Melody Within, while Ribaldi is singing the chorus of The Curse--at the same time.
