  • we always go to manila on night

  • @MrNoypS

    LOL! hahahahaha

  • wala kong makita sa video ito

  • @redpuzzle8 run way 06 is facing manilabay kaya akala nyo mdilim dagat un... hehehe

  • aw Feb 29 is my B-Day

  • hey captain im another captain of another PAL fleet i fly the B747-400 Fleet

  • hello capt. if I pass the lantern test will I be able to become commercial pilot?

  • What Airline is This?

  • Cebu

  • Cebu Pacific?

  • where you on auto or manual? looks like a very very smooth landing.

does it feel different to use the "joystick" of the A320 compared to the usual "manibela" of older aircrafts?

I had a bad landing experience with A320 of PAL during it's early days in the PAL fleet. It felt like a combat pilot was piloting the aircraft.

But this one is soooooo smooth.

  • I've noticed Philippine airline pilots have a very smooth landing...

  • Palawan here's a thought:

Airbus - Uses Fly-by-wire and Joystick on almost all of there aircraft

Boeing - Uses Fly-by-wire and "Manibela"

But if comfort for pilots, I think the Airbus will be a choosing for them

  • New Generation airbus uses the sidestick (first used in fighter aircraft) and is fly-by-wire;

In boeing, only the 777 has fly-by-wire technology. everything else uses cables and pulleys. Controls are made using the yoke (most commonly used among airplanes from the cessna to the jumbos) not "manibela".

  • may FSX ka ba?

  • @Palawancock

the landing was flown manually evidenced by the disconnect chime around the 55 sec mark.

  • what is that "retard" at 4:03

  • its an aural reminder that aircraft is in landing configuration less than 50 feet and that the thrust lever is still in the climb detent with speed decaying below the approach speed. action would be to retard the thrust lever to idle.

on a manually flown approach this is a reminder. on an auto land however this would be a command.

  • ohhh... I remember my childhood dream... to be a pilot... can a girl drive a plane? it seems that the men always get the pilot job...

  • @pilotokoto what about the "minimums", i've heard it on some videos,,thanks

  • hirap tlga ng approach pag gabi. super dependent sa ILS.

  • 3:16 tollgate ng coastal road

  • haha buti hnd traffic ano?? kainis pag traffic lalo na pag peak hours. kainis kasi yung reclamation papuntang cavite eh. hahah Peace..

  • yah tapos oneway pa papasok ng cavite pag umaga.. kainis.

  • hahaha taga LP me eh kaya affected me ng traffic pag napasok hahah

  • anyways, my ILS ba yung isang runway 13

  • ah yung often na ginagamit for small propped planes? hindi ko lang sure po kung meron or wala...

  • MNL, though it is the premier airport to the capital, has no functioning ILS. Another reason why the FAA and the Europeans downgraded the Philippines (Not PAL) to category 2. So this is a VOR-DME approach. Which is the best type of approach you can get coming into manila. Thank God the radar was finally replaced (or repaired?)

  • @kelmaks Are you sure? I am quite sure that MNL has ILS on Runway 06/24. There are many other reasons why a VOR/DME was used. Runway 13/31 doesn't have ILS, but that runway is seldom used for landing anyway.

  • @omar2726 If you are a pilot then I'm sure you haven't operated into MNL for the last couple of years. A lot of things have changed: there isn't an ILS facility in operation, RS NDB has been decommissioned, MNL ground is no longer 121.9, Rwy 13 now has an instrument approach and terminal 3 is now operational. Unfortunately some things have not changed as taxiway C is still in a shameful state.

  • @kelmaks Sorry, I'm not a pilot. I'll take your word for it, thanks! Just a question, do you mean that MNL doesn't have ILS for a long time already? Also, do you know what types of airplanes are allowed to land on 13? Are the narrow bodies allowed to land there also? That would mean a LAHSO before rwy 6/24 right? Thank you very much!

  • asas kaya jan ung bacoor cavite?

  • grabeng ingay un.. parang may alien na nakain ng mga ewan.. ahah.. but sound like tlga cia ng Zorgons!!!!!ung sa Zathura!! aahahahah

  • galing!

  • question lang po regarding departure and arrival procedures? do you set your deck lights to OFF position? katulad ng ginagawa sa amn ng mga cabin crews switching off the lights ng cabin?

  • thats an SOP for any airplane flying at night... even in the bridge of ships...

para hindi ma strained yung mata ng pilots,...

much more mas madali makikita yung buttons and switch kasi may lights yung buttons and switches kahit madilim...

  • @francis2383

the lights setting depends on the PF (that is the Pilot Flying). Whatever suits him better. Could be full bright, dim or none at all. But its always best to have lighting similar to the condition of flight so your eyes adjust better.

  • @francis2383 pag gabi lng... para makita nyo ung metro manila.... hehe

  • thank you so much sir! -jul-

  • the noise is the vibration picked up by the mike during landing roll.

Yes we could use more lights....

  • lol I think it's just bad sound. I'm surprised why Manila doesn't have standard approach lighting or touchdown zone lights...

  • whats the oise? adjusting camera?

  • Thanks again!
