Every test of read on these two bikes said the Busa is the better bike, better handling, overall quality. The Busa's original numbers haven't been broken by the ZX14 cause' now they are both electronically limited to 186mph. Also Kawi made a big mistake with their over the engine "monocoque" style frame cause' it makes the bikes too top heavy and making them pitch too much under acceleration and braking. That's why for 2011 they have more traditional beam type frame for better handling.

I just ordered the new 2012 zx-14r in blue. It should go well with the 2009 zx-14 in green and the 2009 zx-14 in SE Orange already in my stable. Those plus a 2008 Concours 14 in Neutron Silver pretty much confirm my standing as a big fan of the world's fastest production land rocket....ahem..Kawasaki; There is no substitute!

5th summer on my all black 14, open air box, power commander, muzzy titanium 4in1, regular oil changes, a few tune ups, 4 sets of dunlops = 25,000 miles of the best riding of my life, and i'm nearly 50. beaucoup hp & torque, always starts, very comfortable (i'm 6'2" 240 lbs), 7 year design is still the best looking bike on the road (imho). if i owned 4 bikes 2 of them would b zx14's, 1 would b the bmw1600 & 1 might b kaw's 1400 concourse. Kawasaki got it right.

For drag use i 'd buy the 14,better set up from the busa allready from the factory.By little..

For the circuit there are plenty of bikes.Any used 1000 will do.

But i am a road/circuit type of rider so i'll keep my 12.Does both great and looks awsome.A bit scary on the cirucit but does fast laptimes.

had the 2008 zx14, it was a missile, comfortable on longer rides, smooth suspension on rough roads, and a nice seat to take your girl on the back.

The only complaint would be, that on hot days in traffic there is alot of heat coming from the engine

The ZX-14 "R" does not come out until October of 2012. Only the ZX-12 was an "R Model" before this, not the original ZX-10 or ZX-11.

@FaithfulTrigger Limited to 186, but you can have the ECU tweaked. Its very fast as it is and very comfy imo. Its also very nimble. Dont let its big size fool you. Great bike in my opinion. Every jacks the Hayabusa from its original form-its a Suzuki thing I guess cause the GSXR also gets screwed from its performance with extended swing arms and lowered frames.

I'd take the Ninja over the Busa any day of the week, and twice on Sunday. Too many squid types ride Busas. But quite admittedly, both of those bikes are too much for me! IMHO you get much over 1000c in a sport bike and it gets pretty insane.

I have a 06 zx14 and its a pretty good bike, its smooth and I have raced and beaten 08 busa's with similiar mods, airshifted stretched strapped yada yada, boils down to rider and his/her reaction time.

anyone see the speed channel test drive of the 2010 or 2011 busa with a 9 second quarter in a wheelstand whole way down totally stock? the busa looks better AND is faster. anyone that says the zx14 is faster cuz its 50cc bigger obviously hasnt  seen how fast 50cc can get you... For a while, suzuki was kicking ass when it came to looks. Even though I'm a kawasaki guy, the bikes they was making up until now was kinda ugly lol. Fast as hell though. They started looking much better when 1999 and on up came around. Suzuki was always best when it came to looks.

Suzuki Hayabusa because I'm a Suzuki fan, only because my one and only bike to ever own and ride was a old Suzuki 250 Dirt bike. I loved it though. I had to use it to pay a months rent, ya young and irresponsible at the time.

I miss the bike though and have thought time to time to bying one and of coures I would love to by the Hayabusa, it would fit nicely on the back of the truck when traveling come to think of it. @farztorres so far i rode a 1999 ducati 999, 09 ninja 250r, 03 r6, 09 zx6r, and 2011 zx10r. i like the 2011 zx10r, its very comfortable, lots of power but i feel confident on using, very nimble, easy to turn in corners. thats my oppinion only...
