  • GREAT vids!!!! 1 question, are those the same steps in doing a train with a pusher loco in the back??

  • badass man i love it!

  • 1 huge question?????????? can u do this with the mrc prodigy express??? cuz i so wanna do this but i have no idea

  • you have a great set up on the trains mods like this man, How long you been doing this type of railroading like this?

  • Hi flymanjg I'm just starting with American HO can you tell me why diesel engines hooked up like this are facing in opposite directions , over here in britain we would call this a double header as steam trains used to do, but would face in the same direction, secondly can you keep one loco stationary with DCC then back the other loco up to hook up!

    enjoying your vids thanks.

  • nice how do you do that on a bachman dcc ez comand controll

  • Nice job man

  • Thanks for showing how to consist....!!!

  • sharp engines....I have 9 of the SD70ACes from MTH.

  • sweet locomotives!! I have been searching around to see if anyone has the GM Demonstrator #74 model, I hate I am the only one with it, is it because it's a DAP model? What is the importance of it being a DAP model? Someone told me don't sell it, why?

  • Yes, I also changed the plastic magnetic couples that they come with for Kadee # 158 scale head metal couplers.

  • Did you replace the electric couplers out with regualers?

  • Absolutely beautiful! Bravo!

  • Hello! I have a question about the new MTH SD70M-2. Been thinking about ordering one. I have some old MRC TechII power packs. Do you happen to know what the minimum voltage requirement is to operate this engine.

  • @joshdillon2003 Don't know.

  • @joshdillon2003 They're power hogs. I believe you'll need about 24v to run two of them. I have an MRC 260 DC power pack and it'll handle 2 just fine, but adding a 3rd kills it. My smaller MRC power supply couldn't handle 2 MTHs at all, but could run 4 KATOs all day long.

  • @C45ACCTE Thank you very much!

  • Thanks flymanjg I'm looking to purchase one of these MTH SD70 units. How would you rate them from a scale of 1 to 10? By the way great craftsmenship on the layout.

  • flymanjg are you able to consist the MTH SD70 with other locos besides another MTH unit? I heard they don't consist well.

  • yes you can, you just have to do it using "old consisting" method.

  • Very well done video. I'm going out the garage to do some consisting right now. Thanks.

  • Great vid. I had to go to my buddies club where a guy said MTH didn't consist on NCE... of course they didn't read the manual nor realized to press 1 for old style consisting on the NCE cab. Was able to consist 2 SD70M-2 and a Digitrax DCC equipped Atlas loco to show them.

  • Some times all it takes is a little reading.

  • This helps a lot thanks man. I just got 2 of these and an ace. Got the same numbers as you too. So basically you used old style consisting not advance consisting? Thank you for posting this video. 5/5

  • Will they run on a bachmann dcc?

    (No bashing please)

  • They should.

  • whats the retail price for those locomotives??

    I want one now.

  • ahhhh i think its like 249.95 you can get em cheaper on ebay.

  • You can find them on ebay for about $200 shipped. Retail on ebay, $220 or so plus shipping. They are great engines. I love them.

  • awesome locos i see you got rid of the automatic couplers look great sure wished the smoked like the o scale ones though

  • those engiens are just so amazing dude omg

  • Did you change the horn? Because I want to change mine.

  • Yup MTH units do not support CV19 unfortunately. No biggy though, as you've described universal or "old" consist works just fine and very well. I've actually started to speed match my Digitrax decoders to these units because they are so smooth and a great reference for any other decoders. Great vid bud! 5*s!!!

  • great info. I have a pair of SD70Ace's my self from MTH, but have not programmed them yet. Was it difficult for you?

Also the scenery at 9:45, is that expandable insulation foam you have used to mould rocks from ?

  • Thank you very much. Good job as always.

  • very very nice

  • they'll start selling DCC ready this april.

  • Awsome dude!! Looks great can't wait to see it when its finished.

  • Just great engines!!

  • Awesome video! You're doing great with the D9. The MRC system is great, as well was the freight consist and those passing shots.

  • Awesome vid and great angles

  • Your the BOMB! You must have read my mind with this video. I have the MRC system also and have been trying to consist using CV29. This is much easier and better. THANKS!

  • Glad I could help.

  • amazing layout there

  • hey i love that they put ditch lights on the rear do they work?

  • Yes.

  • CSX models dont have them... Theres must be a way to add them.

  • dont have what?

  • CSX models dont have rear ditch lights. SD70ACEs.

  • Yeah all the aces Im pretty sure dont have them. At least with the first release. My csx ace doesnt have them like you said. They also did not work right out of the box. They needed to like be broken in, it was weird. Same with the sd70m2s that I got.

  • they look great and i do belive you can program on DCC but it has tobe in POM mode (program on the main)

  • great video
