I live this song right now, Husband is in Afghanistan and we have 3 little girls and our first son will be born while he is gone. One of my very best friends was in the Air Force, She gave the ultimate sacrifice for us and I am very proud of her and all of our men and women in uniform, we wouldnt be free if it wasnt for our military. This song maes me cry because my sailor is deployed and the pergnancy doesnt seem real with out him. i never imagined my self falling in love some one like him. i cant wait til he gets home because then me him and the baby can be a family. Not a moent goes by i dont think about him he is always on my mind and in my heart. the military wives/girlfreinds/fiances are truely the silent ranks we hold down the home front when they deploy.
My best advice: write to them, let them know much you care, and how much you look forward to them coming home. Best thing that can happen is that they know how much you care. Ain't easy when you don't know what's happening there, but think about how they feel not being sure whether someone knows they're there. Been there, done that. We got Army, Coast Guard, Navy, Air Force, Marines doing their best! Don't forget, our people in uniform are the Best In The World! Let 'em know! !

this song reminds me of my old life. I was engaged to a soldier who was in Iraq. He came home a few years ago but he had PTSD (post tramatic stress disorder) and was honorable discharged from the army. Unfortunately he was not able to deal being back. He lost his final battle 2 months short of year after coming home. i don't want anyone else to go though this so if your soldier comes home with PTSD please get them help and someone to talk to. It may save their lives!!!

Having a husband deployed is the single hardest thing I've ever had to do. You keep busy to pass the time, but there's not one second where you're not thinking about their safety or what they're doing. I avoided most of the news about the war for an entire year, because most of it is completely wrong and biased. I knew what I was getting into when I married an Infantryman, but it doesn't always make it easier. Thankfully he came home safe, but not without a few close calls.

I'm a 34 year old former Marine and this song brings tears to my eyes. For every wife/girlfriend/child who stood on that dock and waved goodbye to all of us, not really sure if we were ever coming home. yeah and what about all the wives and girlfriends who don't sleep alone... i heard more about relationships ending in my platoon than anything when we came back from deployment. and the argument that being the significant other of a service member makes you special is just ludicrous. seems more like some people just want drama in their lives. "my boyfriend fights for us!" when he is probably just a gas pumping pog who never sees combat and sleeps around in libo ports. i hate false nobility.

I hope this helps others understand that freedom comes with a price! It affects not only those serving, but their families and friends. My boyfriend served with USMC 1/3 Bravo Co. in support of OEF, and came home wounded in February. My thoughts are forever with the families of those who did not make it home. Freedom is not free.

This song came out during my husbands first deployment. I remember crying when I heard it. We have been through two more deployments since then had 4 children and it doesnt get easier to say good bye but it does seem easier to go through because you know what to expect. It doesnt make you miss them any less or make you sleep any better.
@lyzannamarie....as said before, you don't get used to it, you just learn what works for you, how to spend your time, raising your children, or working, or both....three times now, and three different ways of coping. You pray for your soldier, you pray for your own sanity. But most of all, you let him know you love him, and are faithful, that means so much to a soldier deployed....best of luck! My prayers are with all those still waiting...including me..two more days til number three is OVER!
I never had anyone deployed on a love one just yet. I have lost a love one and I know its hard to have someone you love so much away from you that is eather decease or away from youre arms. I bet everyone just wish they can hold them and never let go I understand. One of my very best friends was in the Air Force, She gave the ultimate sacrifice for us and I am very proud of her and all of our men and women in uniform, we wouldnt be free if it wasnt for our military. So this song really hits home really hard because im handicapped and I would do anything I could to be there fighting for our country and everything that we stand for.

my daddy is in the armed forces and i havent seen him since two christmas' ago. sometimes its months before i get a letter from him. the last time i talked on the phone with him, was two months ago. i recorded it so i can hear his voice when i miss him, so far ive fallen asleep to it ever night. im 13 years old and i have lived with out him since i was 10. i have a little brother who is 6. my mom works full time, she has 2 jobs mon.-fri. and 1 job sat.&sun. please help my family and pray for us

My best advice: write to them, let them know much you care, and how much you look forward to them coming home. Best thing that can happen is that they know how much you care. Ain't easy when you don't know what's happening there, but think about how they feel not being sure whether someone knows they're there. Been there, done that. We got Army, Coast Guard, Navy, Air Force, Marines doing their best! Don't forget, our people in uniform are the Best In The World! Let 'em know! !

this song reminds me of my old life. I was engaged to a soldier who was in Iraq. He came home a few years ago but he had PTSD (post tramatic stress disorder) and was honorable discharged from the army. Unfortunately he was not able to deal being back. He lost his final battle 2 months short of year after coming home. i don't want anyone else to go though this so if your soldier comes home with PTSD please get them help and someone to talk to. It may save their lives!!!

Having a husband deployed is the single hardest thing I've ever had to do. You keep busy to pass the time, but there's not one second where you're not thinking about their safety or what they're doing. I avoided most of the news about the war for an entire year, because most of it is completely wrong and biased. I knew what I was getting into when I married an Infantryman, but it doesn't always make it easier. Thankfully he came home safe, but not without a few close calls.

I'm a 34 year old former Marine and this song brings tears to my eyes. For every wife/girlfriend/child who stood on that dock and waved goodbye to all of us, not really sure if we were ever coming home. It takes a VERY special kind of woman to love a Soldier/Marine, and that love is some of the strongest I have ever witnessed. You ladies are amazing, and we all fight for you <3

My hubby is gone for the first time. We;ve been together 10 years, everyday, minus the basic 3 years ago. We have never been apart so long. He only left 2 days ago, but i feels like it was weeks. yeah and what about all the wives and girlfriends who don't sleep alone... i heard more about relationships ending in my platoon than anything when we came back from deployment. and the argument that being the significant other of a service member makes you special is just ludicrous. seems more like some people just want drama in their lives. "my boyfriend fights for us!" when he is probably just a gas pumping pog who never sees combat and sleeps around in libo ports. i hate false nobility.

this song and video perfectly fits the soldiers and there spouses male and female.it is hard to say goodbye to them when being deployed,because there is a chance that they may not make it back home.then the children are just as sad as the spouses,and it is harder on them than anyone else.being a military spouse is very hard and a job that you have to wear a tough sheild with.you take a lot on your plate when married to a solider.i would not change being a military spouse for anything though!!

Saying goodbye is the hardest thing Miitary spouses ever have to do. I've never cried as hard in my life. I hope and pray they all come home safe, and soon. I love my sailor. I love this song, i cry everytime I hear it. See you soon babe. 08.04.10 hooyah.<3

and let's make it clear- not all of those serving are Soldiers! So why not say, god bless our TROOPS instead of Soldiers. :) I don't just say god bless our Marines! lol

I hope this helps others understand that freedom comes with a price! It affects not only those serving, but their families and friends. My boyfriend served with USMC 1/3 Bravo Co. in support of OEF, and came home wounded in February. My thoughts are forever with the families of those who did not make it home. Freedom is not free.

@crazikals13 thank you!!! the support of those around us even the ones we do not know means more than you can know! my husband is currently serving his third tour over there we have a 3 yr old 20mo old and a 1 mo old reading nice comments such as yours helps me get through the tough days!

This song came out during my husbands first deployment. I remember crying when I heard it. We have been through two more deployments since then had 4 children and it doesnt get easier to say good bye but it does seem easier to go through because you know what to expect. It doesnt make you miss them any less or make you sleep any better.

@lyzannamarie....as said before, you don't get used to it, you just learn what works for you, how to spend your time, raising your children, or working, or both....three times now, and three different ways of coping. You pray for your soldier, you pray for your own sanity. But most of all, you let him know you love him, and are faithful, that means so much to a soldier deployed....best of luck! My prayers are with all those still waiting...including me..two more days til number three is OVER!

I never had anyone deployed on a love one just yet. I have lost a love one and I know its hard to have someone you love so much away from you that is eather decease or away from youre arms. I bet everyone just wish they can hold them and never let go I understand. Just think of it this way God is watching over you everyday and he cares and understand talk to him and he will comfort you alot and your love one. Dont give up stsay strong for your loveones they need you more then ever.Until then
