I love it at "idle" speed........just like the "old" steam engines were.........but when you rev the hell out of it.......I tend to think......HAND GRENADE!!!
One drop of oil on each rod with the oil can, a few drops in the air intalk hole and one drop on the crank shaft is all it needs. The air blows oil through the engine as it runs.
We double checked the first Tachometer then checked it with a different Tachometer they both read 30K RPMs. I tried my old mechanical Tachometer it reads off scale. We used the electronic Tachometer to test a 3600 RPM electric motor it tested correct RPM. We used the electronic Tachometer to test a Model Airplane engine known to run at 28,000. RPM it tested correct RPM too. We retested my engine it shows 30,021. RPMs on 100 psi air pressure. Sound on video sounds different than being here.
A 30,000 rpm engine would have a much higher pitched squeal to it than that engine, it sounds like it's running at about 6500 rpms. With frequency the more you have the higher the pitch, no matter how many cylinders you have it is basic science. That is why F1 cars sound so "high pitched" which run at about 10,000 to 12,000 rpms. If it is a 30,000 rpm engine they aren't showing its true capabilities here.
at 30,000 rpm your risking serious injury by being that close to it with out sheilding... if it blew..there could easily be shrapnel that is as fast as a .22 cal or faster.
A few people have asked if I have Plans for this engine. I don't have plans but maybe I should. The whole engine has11 different parts and 6 identical pistons and 6 cylinder walls, 6 rods. It is a very simple design. I have plans for stirling engines, pulse jet engines and many other plans on ebay look for seller Scientificsupply.
has anyone thought of combining the sterling motor with the stien concept? instead of a heat source or air flow why not electrical output and magnetically moving the piston?
Many people have ask me if I had plans for this engine. I have some hand sketches and notes but I need to make some good plans when I get time I will.
I'm guessing a 5 gallon air tank with 100 psi might last 5 minutes. As the pressure gets lower and lower in the tank the engine starts to run slower and slower. The engine will run full speed on 20 psi so a pressure regulator set at 20 psi would probably make the air in the tank last 2 or 3 times longer. The engine will run on 5 psi a pressure regulator set a 5 psi would probably make the air last pretty close to an hour.
@akinorhan5 lol you obviously dont know anything, it obviously has at least a tiny bit of oil or it wouldnt run. I built one that ran maybe 200 rpms max but it had a 2 inch stroke and 3/4 inch bore so it was alot louder and had massive torque. very unbalanced as well as it was only 2 cyl.
They put a black mark on the flywheel with a black marker then the tach-o-meter looked at the black mark as it went around. This is the first time I have seen this type tach.
They used a black marker on the 480 volt 3 phase electric motor shaft. The electric eye looked at the black spot as it goes past and the digital read out shows the RPMs.. They put a black spot on the radial engine flywheel and it looked at the spot as it went past. It was a pretty cool gizmo.

My pneumatic drill run 25.000 rpm with 100 psi, and make a loud noise, your engine run only 3.000 rpm, sorry.

How long would one tank of compressed air last on full speed?
Approximately, I don't wanna know the time by seconds :P

gizmoguyar 1 year ago
@gizmoguyar displacement. 1 CID. torque. 1 mile/lb of torque at 3000 rpm.

You should hook it up to an old Hoinda 9hp. generator by belt.
And see if it could be a back up,or wood fired power source.
What's the ccm on it?

how does an electronic tach measure a mechanical rpm? It's air pressure, there's no ignition, so no electronic signal?
