  • "kevhonline" Can you say me a song? Можешь сказать песня какая играет?

  • I don't even do magic and i figured it out. 1) theres 6 cards in the left pile, 4 aces, 2 jacks and only 2 cards in the right pile, the jack of diamonds and jack of clubs. The jack of clubs is on the bottom and jack of diamonds is on the top. Notice how he shows the jack of hearts twice in the pile thats supposed to contain 4 aces. At the end he Has to lift the right pile with the ace of clubs instead of his hands because the remaining two jacks are behind it. However, it appears as one card.

  • Do you use any gimmick?

  • was wondering if i could do a tutorial for this trick...a good one lol

  • whos talking?? i dont think is kev ho

  • brain-raped @.@

  • Woww Niicee trick

  • the count that looks like the elmsley count.. what is that?:) please share

  • just the dirtiest handling... shivers.

  • i just got punk'd

  • you cheated...

  • you do it differently than your explanation do you

  • OMG I want learn it i will try to figur it out! but kevin dont worry i wont revealed ;D

  • @DualBlade234 i allready figured it out in five minutes but its still awesome trick

  • Kev, can your book be bought in book stores as well or only online?

  • @KicsiRamy Online, mostly. I've seen it at a couple magic shops, but for the most part you'd be better off getting it online.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • aww i just got punked :D

  • Hey Kev, this is my favorite effect from your book. Can't believe it has been 3 years? Any new projects coming our way?

    Edward

  • Hey Kev I bought your book & I loved it.I performed Punk'd to my friends & family & they're still scratching their heads wondering how in the world how in the I did the trick.=D.Thanks a lot, I learned a lot of new stuff and my favorite trick is Collector's: Redux!!!

  • @reddragonofusa Also I'm going to try to learn the Anaconda dribble!

  • do u have a dvd or just a book? and is it available in australia?

  • i like your patter, but geriammads looks smoother

  • I wonder if its available in Singapore?

  • all the people that watch tutorial on youtube

there is no good tutorial on youtube

all the tutorial explain wrong way !!!!

  • @TheDavidA71 *Exactly*.

  • your book explains it differently.

  • @spikeboy101 The version in the book is a lot better, and is the method that I use whenever I perform this. When I was filming this video I didn't have the credits at hand, so I came up with a slight variation instead — little did I know that it would lead to so many people copying a version that's not as efficient as the one explained in the book. Oh well.

  • @kevhonline Well actually that might be a good thing. They gave you many views from watching it tons of times and it's not the legitiment explanation.

  • @spikeboy101 Exactly! Now I can fool them in real life with my super-insane alternate handling... dem suckas will never know what hit 'em.

  • @kevhonline LOL Yup!

  • This is such a brilliant trick, and Kevin, you executed it incredibly. I'll be making a video on my performance, so please watch out for that.

    -Sam

  • I don't know is your voice is computer edited or not but is very sexy xD

    Oh, Great trick.

  • Fuck, I know when it happens but I still can't see a darn thing..

  • what is this music called?

  • Kevin, is that your real voice?

  • @mendiolamonkey dude...wla rin akong makitang libro niya eh...kahit sa sm north...

wala ata dude eh...ang sad noh?

  • that was pretty awesome

  • sweet moves

  • How did u make the voice

  • hi Kevin i bought your book. really clever btw:)i had a question on the elmsley count in the beginning. Im not sure how to do it and get the cards to get in the right order for the rhythm count. plz help

  • Is thoughs 1001 Alladins. If it is, is it Smooth or Air cushion finish? Anyways Very, Very, Very, freakin' out standing! :)

  • @BassmrDK Kev uses Smooth Finished 1001 Alladins.

  • This video was based on a true story, I can back it up 110%

  • how do you do the pard from 0:17 to 0:21 becouse in your book this part is difrent :O this in the video is better

  • I wish i could get that book!

but i don't think they sell it my country... :(

    maybe for my next birthday...

    (btw i'm only 11)

  • This is probably going to be the next book I'm gonna buy. Hope it has good tricks and flourishes. =)

  • 3rd time watching this and i have figured it out, sweeeet!!!

  • @mendiolamonkey I don't know if it's directly available in the Philippines, but if you have a credit card or Paypal you should be able to get it off the Dan and Dave store, either in .pdf or actual book form :)

    -Kev, The Virts

  • Hi Kev I just got your book and it is awesome!!

  • I love to do this trick to people

  • my favourite trick right now

  • It fooled me at the first view, but I manage to figure out the trick at the second ^^

    Awesome effect

  • Where do you buy

    the book at?

  • In the sidebar there's a link that says "Learn it now at...". Click on that and it'll take you to where you can order the book :)

    -Kev, The Virts

  • if you want a tutorial, buy the book of Kevin :-)

  • tutorial anyone?

  • de la bombe!! super

  • is that the florida count you did?

  • A minor variation of it, yeah.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • man i believe it's pure magic i'm gonna buy your book as soon as i can.

  • thanks i actually realized that's the florida count after learning it, and that's what i prefer over the rhythm count.

I was a bit worried with the 'thickness' at first but then again i realized it just depends on how smooth the flow of your performance, right?

  • smooth

  • Hey Kev neat trick. I cant help but to notice that you and Bone have the same last name.

  • Yeah, we get that a lot. No relations; it's just a common Asian surname :P

    -Kev, The Virts

  • my fucking god i finally found the secret of this trick thanxs and dont worie i m not going to say anithig so thanks haha great jupi realy thanks

  • Welllllll you could always buy the book too! It's got some other cool effects like these :)

    -Kev, The Virts

  • I was wondering if you had been inspired too by Bebel's version : "Repro Retro"

  • I actually didn't know of Repro Retro until after I published Smooth Operations, where everyone started comparing the two because they were both spin-offs of Reset.

As mentioned in the effect's introduction, Punk'd was more inspired by Syd Segal's handling of the Rhythm Count in his effect 'A Logical Lesson.'

    -Kev, The Virts

  • I studied this effect in your book "Smooth operations" that I highly recommend, because I'm a great RESET fan.

However I do it in a very different way, more like a card to pocket reset. The idea and the sleights stay the same.

    Thanks for publishing.

Thanks a lot for this effect

  • Great to see a sensible, coherent comment in here for once! You have no idea how much I appreciate that... haha.

Glad you liked the book—hope you toy around with some of the other effects as well!

    -Kev, The Virts

  • Hey, I'm glad you appreciate it. It's very sincere.

It's not the only routine I like.

I also practice "conspiracy of a four" and also you version of Kenner's " In ten city" that I find easier for the secret move.

I just bought it last month so I have a lot of work to do.

If you're interested I'll upload my version with a lot of respect due to your work.

  • Yeah, definitely do! Interested to see what you've done with the source material :)

    -Kev, The Virts

  • its that your voice kev

  • Why yes it is!

    -Kev, The Virts

  • is the smooth operations only in a book or on a dvd too ?

  • Just a book, not a DVD.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • I'm gonna buy it anyway.. I reed books too

  • "I'm gonna buy it anyway.. I reed books too"

    congratulations lol

  • Yeah, I was just about to say... haha.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • Damn I wish I could create tricks like this! Mine always turn out long and draggy or really short with a dumb ending...

  • why to learn it at dnd site when it can be figured out from this presentation right here? :/

  • Because I gotta eat too, that's why.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • what a douchebag... how bout some support?

  • amazing. im thinking about getting ur book. ur tricks are really mind-blowing

  • this is not just by you. this book was released after mismag822

released his video 69. You should go check it out

  • ...sigh...

  • you know, kevin did record this video in 2007 while mimag82 recorded his video in 2009

  • mismag sucks.

  • @ShymonyMagick i agree. mismag has really bad handling. Kev has a much nicer style and rhythm to his tricks which i love very much.

  • @badbadari shut up dummy, this is kevin ho!

you think he's a dum that will look at some stupid youtube video by a sucker magician that reveals tricks that he copied from somewhere?

    so if yes, think twice...

  • sounds like you've recorded the sound afterwards..

  • Yeah, you're definitely not the first person to say that. I recorded the routine while wearing a headset, which is why the sound is more resonant than usual.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • Great routine, I have your book and I do this all of the time. Thanks for sharing

  • What's the song? 5/5 awasome performance i'm buying your book it seems awasome

  • Thanks! Would definitely appreciate it if you did. As for the song, it's 'Hommage' by David Schombert, off of his album Quiet Life vol.2.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • gimmick???

  • Nope—everything is completely impromptu and can be performed with a borrowed deck. I explain how to do this in my book 'Smooth Operations', so do check it out if you're interested in performing this effect :)

    -Kev, The Virts

  • ty..u r very good.. i m italian...i hope i can find your book...bye!

  • hey kev,

where do you get your aladdins and what finish if you don't mind me asking?

  • It doesn't matter what cards you use.Its your skill. You could buy Jerry nuggets which is like $170 dollars or something and still be crap.Imo it doesn't matter. But i think he is using Aladdins smooth finish as he himself said even when your'e hands are sweaty they won't stick..

  • Dude I'm not asking him where he gets them because i think it'll make me better. I was just asking considering Aladdins aren't being made anymore. But surely there are cards that your prefer? And if there are cards you've never tried using before and think that justt maybe you'll like them better than your current ones, maybe you want to get some source as to where you can buy them. You're saying that like i think Aladdins are gonna give me special Kevin Ho powers if i get em. Thanks though.

  • Well yes and no.I haven't considered cards I just get cards because of the design.Atm i got Arrcos i used to have aladdins and they are good. But that is my opinion just keep that in mind. Thanks!

  • Read your guys' little comment thread... haha.

Regarding Aladdins, I do use the non air-cushioned, 'Smooth Finish' editions, as they were the most commonly available ones in Singapore back then. They're not really for everyone, but I've grown partial to them so that's why I tend to have them in so many of my videos.

If you haven't already, give 'em a try - it's definitely worth a shot.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • you are born in singapore? btw i tried aladdins and i think it does not really suits me.. LOLS! Thanks..

    ~CZ~

  • No, I was born in the US. And yeah, Aladdins don't really suit everyone. Just super-cool people like me.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • wonderful performance, really.

  • Great performance. The trick is pretty easy but the effect is great. I prefer this variation to the classic by P. Harris.

PS: someone knows the name of the music ?

  • Very smooth

  • I like it :D Even if I know how you do this;)

    Great Performance

  • Very smoothly done. Techniques are simple, but the effect is grand ; )

  • I just got Punk'd!

  • does this trick need gimmick?

  • Nope... the trick can be pretty much done impromptu.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • I recommend Smooth Operations as the magic of Kevin Ho is as Awesome as his flourishing

  • Kevin Cool!

    He is friendly!

  • i figured it out just by watching it

  • i figured it out just by creating it

  • i literally lol'd, kevin you're the man.

  • lol

  • lol great trick kevin

  • get shit on

  • do you teach the Bob change in your book?

  • Yup! You can see a full contents list over at the product description on Dan & Dave's site.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • I bought your book just because of thist trick :D

  • Good to know! Thanks for the support :)

    -Kev, The Virts

  • what cards r u usin

  • thats aladdin1001

  • Well.. The voice of Kevin is a bit different in the two videos... I couldn't find similarities... :S

  • nice moves. excellent presentation as well. great job! :D

  • Love this effect, very smooth and straight to the point, hope you dont mind me asking but is it impromptu,

    Martin

  • Yup, it's 100% impromptu and can be done with a regular, borrowed pack. I teach it in my book 'Smooth Operations' at Dan & Dave Buck's site, so do check it out if you're interested in it and other cool visual magic!

    -Kev, The Virts

  • hey that voice sounds FAMILIAR!! "Close your eyes what do you see? Nothing what is this nothing? Darkness what is this darkness? Everything"

LOL so that was your voice kev?? hehehe ;D

  • Yup, same voice as always... golden, I know ;)

    -Kev, The Virts

  • yeah your voice in this vid is awesome!! wish i can make my voice like that hehehe :D

  • WTF!? thats crazy!

  • I remember when i first saw this effect i was like wtf. Great work man, your an inspiration. And i love your book, you should come out with some more masterpieces, ill make sure to get them.

  • i see a trick very similar call 69 very easy

  • In actuality, Dan and Dave's '69' is very similar to a sleight in my book called "The Florida Count". Check it out if you have the time... and the cash ;)

    -Kev, The Virts

  • i would do if i could but i live in argentina :S, but i love your work, very nice sleight, thanks for reply man :D

  • hey kev, still waiting on them vids! =]

  • is that ur voice?

  • looks like the mcdonal one , great job

  • nice.. is this being sold somewhere?

  • As mentioned in the description, this (and many other effects and techniques) are taught in my book Smooth Operations, available at dananddave[dot]com.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • ok.. thanks.. I hope you will produce a dvd like the trilogy of the bucks..

  • Somehow...i don't know... it's perfect. Yea perfect seems to be the right word =)

Actually your voice fits in perfect, more than smooth performed and the end always hits hard ^^

    -a big fan - 3irdy

  • i like it a lot, but, how do you make the table all black?

  • I actually filmed it on top of my bed, which was covered with a black cloth.

    Now you know!

    -Kev, The Virts

  • hey Kev, do you perform other people's stuff, like say "the queens" from the buck bro's? I'd really like to see your handling on some of their stuff.

    -Matt

  • I do, but I don't feel a real need to film my handlings of other people's effects - I'd rather perform them for people in real life, that way others can still enjoy them, and people don't end up comparing the two.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • HAHA!!! very nice!!! i've been practicing sleight of hand and ive got to say the first time through when i saw the video you got me but i believe i got the trick now. again very very nice

  • You should call this Trick "Own'd"...Makes much more sense while watching it :D

  • yo this is a good trick i think though i may have it figured out

but i will not reveal it

    can i use it though?

  • Sure you can use it. I'd advice picking up the book to learn the official method, though - it's different from the one in the video, and in my opinion the original count sequence has a better timing and flow.

Plus, that way I can get some more money to buy lunch. It's true what they say about starving artists you know!

    -Kev, The Virts

  • you bring reset to the next lever!

  • Thanks! Maybe I should call it 'Undo'.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • is that your voice in the vid

  • Yes, that's Kevin's voice.

  • Hi From France

ouaou !!!!. Excellent performance, really extraordinary, my congratulations

  • so when do you think you'll be releasing some new videos?

  • Very soon, actually. Stay tuned ;)

    -Kev, The Virts

  • Ah, ok thanks kevin. 8)

  • Hey Kevin, just got your book today. Love it already. This trick is the first I;ll master. One question, on this video, is that your real voice? It almost sounds like a recoreded voice. Almost. Anyway, amazing handling!

  • Hey Steven,

Thanks for picking up the book, I appreciate it! Glad you're liking it :D

The voice in the video is my real voice, yes - I guess the fact that I recorded it with a headset at the time makes it sound more resonating than it would if I were to have just filmed it with an on-board mic. I have another video of me speaking on my Vimeo account (How to Make a Memo Stand...), so you can check that out to confirm it's my real voice ;)

    -Kev, The Virts

  • Hey Kevin, I was the guy who figured out the trick and you got mad at. I got the PDF. And guess what? I love it. Sorry 'bout before. STUCK ON YOU was the best trick. Haha.

  • Thanks, appreciate your support. Glad you enjoyed the book!

Also, I apologize to your friends in advance.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • Haha.

  • Hey Kevin, congratulations for your book. Its awesome. When I study magic, I like to study one person at time, like I was studying Ascanio last semester. Now, when magicians ask me "what are you training" I answer: Kevin Ho.

By the way, could you make a video of Punk'd, using the PCP at the end?

    -Iuri ColesNik

  • Thanks for the kind words! I really appreciate it :D

Anyway, as of right now I'm working on developing some new flourishes as well as some non card-related short films, so re-filming a different version of this effect isn't my main priority - plus, most people would probably find it redundant anyway. Perhaps when my workload clears up I might, but as of right now I'd advise you not to hold your breath on it. Sorry!

    -Kev, The Virts

  • Ok. xD

So I will film it and you say if I am on the right way :D

  • Comment removed

  • Kev, I was practicing for my talent show and did punk'd, and the second I started to show the first transpo, she just walked off stage with her face in her hands and just was like "WTFFFF, SCREWW YOU!!!" hahahhhahhah, you ever get any crazy reactions like that? xD

  • Hahahaha... that's awesome. I have gotten some pretty insane reactions from spectators, but nothing compared to what Huron is capable of eliciting from people - he makes people scream so much you'd think he was a walking horror film.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • Hey kev,

Check out my video on "Punk'd"

    give me some feed back

    -Jarren

  • hi kevin i got it, thanks bro

  • kevin, can you make the same video with elmsey count?

  • Hey Dzulfikar,

I had originally planned to do so, but given the 2 years that have gone by since I posted this video, I think this version of the video has been around long enough to make the point.

After all, the main difference is in the Rhythm count sequence; for a fine example of this in action, I'd recommend checking out Syd Segal's performance of "Illogical Lesson", which is the effect that inspired this particular handling of Reset.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • dude u r the best

  • really nice performance O:

    u rule man

  • hey Kev,

you've probably been asked this over and over again but I can't find those posts lol. What video editor do you use and what do you think about it? Also, is there any particular one that you prefer or recomment?
