  • can someone please help me understand the word he's saying @2:45...its the middle word...he's saying the word is either "hashem" or "ahdonie" but isn't the middle word pronounced: "yehvah"??? please help did he make a mistake?

  • 1:00 he said poo, sorry that was immature =]

  • Woaah...Learning Hebrew just got real intense! I need to practice practice practice my aleph bet and vowels, so I can read! I was wondering how does one read Hebrew if the vowel signs aren't present?

  • Is this old school Hebrew because I just looked on a couple Israeli websites and none of the websites use the vowel points.

  • @Deutschdude100 no, the vowel point help you to read at the start, then you wont need them because you will know what words sound like without the vowel points.

just like Arabic, there are three vowel signs but no one uses them as soon as they learn how to read fluently.

  • I went through your lessons in an hour and they have opened up a new world for me. Thank you for your effort, I greatly appreciate it.

  • @bnaiorpueblo LOL!

  • the first alephs should be pronounced as aw or uh not ah

  • @bnaiorpueblo

don't worry about the idiots. Your course is very, very good. Thank you very much!

I'm from germany and I can understand what you say, so you must be a really good teacher. And the pronunciation is absolutely okay!

  • Thank You! Your course is hard, but your teaching style is very good. I have been wanting to learn Hebrew for some time and I really thank you for your teaching method. I can understand what I am learning! And I am so proud to find myself reading Hebrew words after each lesson!

  • how big woulkd one normally write hebrew on dina4 paper with squasres? 1*1 or 2*2?

  • Comment removed

  • thank you, your lessons have helped me lot.

  • Thank you sir so much for this. Do you teach classes or offer individual lessons?

  • first i was wondering myself, what the fuck he's reading? ...than i realized it's just with a strong american accent.

  • hey just to let people know in the first 30 seconds or so when hes introducing the letters he got them mixed up in the english transation it should read pey, fey and ending fey. confusing i know because the hebrew version is right to left but the english is left to right :P

  • Thanks for the great videos,

when you come to The Name of the Creator you trample on his name and break the 3rd commandment and bring it to nothing by using substitutions.

How about considering the name Yahudah - Judah the tribe, take the 'dalet' d out and you get a pretty good pronunciation for our Creator's Name, Yahuah! Shalom brother :-)

  • I want to thank you once again for helping lot of people just like me who want to learn Hebrewyour videos plu the book that I have, its a great conbination and I just want to tell you that you are right; there are some exeptions in the pronounciation of the kamatz sometimes it will sound like "ho"instead of "ha". Shalom

  • Why is that in the first part of the word at 1:56, he pronounces it "Meekhol" instead of "Meekahl"

and he shouldn't teach us to read stuff that we don't know the letters of

  • @EdgarJaimes666 hehehe :)

  • What's that little straight-quote thing on the bottom of the words?

    Middle & Last words @ 1:32

    First word @ 2:58

    First word @ 3:09

    Please reply, somebody!

  • I think they are cantilation points or grammatical points. They have nothing to do with pronunciation, at least

  • i am an arab and i am well-versed in classical arabic, I can speak all the tribal dialects of nomadic arabic tribes in the Arabian Peninsula.Themore I get exposed to Hebrew the more I discover that hebrew has a lot of smilarities to those dialects spoken by the nomadic tribes in arabia. This might indicate that Maybe classical arabic has evolved from a proto-language that all all those nomadic tribes-(arabic and hebriac) were speaking from time immoerial.

  • @freethinker: that might very well be true

  • @freethinker2007 did you notice that they are far from the southern Semitic languages? and more close to the northern Semitic..mmmm amazing.

  • I can write my name in Hebrew now! :)

  • Thanks.

  • I'm listening to Hebrew native speakers from time to time and notice the pronunciation differences of the same word from person to person. Just drive from Tel Aviv to Galil and after 2 hrs drive you will see a big change in pronunciation and accent - at least for my foreign ears :)

Anyway, toda raba to the author. No matter your Hebrew is a bit American (of course it is, mine is sounding Croatian!) this effort means a lot to me.

  • get a non american to pronounce your stuff... this is baaad

  • thanks a lot

  • אתה לא מורה טוב. אתה צריך ללמוד עוד עברית!

  • אני מסכים

  • i agree!

  • Hi, your ayin prononciation is wrong! Ayin is different with Alef! The voyal "A" should not be pronunced "O"! And you don't also know how to pronunce the Het! Please ask an Israeli or a sefardic friend to teach on line, it will be better for everybody!

  • It is VERY difficult for a non-native speaker to get the pronunciation of any language perfect. Those of us who are beginners are still learning a great deal. It is one thing to offer some helpful criticism, but be respectful, please! None of us are paying for this, so we have no right to complain! I am very grateful for the lessons. Without free and convenient resources like this, I would probably never have the opportunity to learn.

  • I know what you mean, it's cool for you coz it's for free. But if the guy teach in a wrong way, I don't expect you to learn wrong things~~

  • لا أحب هذا

  • المعلم ليست جيدة!

  • THANK YOU!

I think you're great for teaching Hebrew for free on youtube. Please don't take into consideration bad comments - envy is a great evil.

  • Todah rabah, Chaver.

    That´s very helpufull.

  • how can you say ayin is like an aleph?!

it has a different sound it's much deeper and it's cut deeply in the throat. it's the equivelant letter for ع in arabic.

don't teach them to read the letters as theyre now mistakenly pronounced, teach them the right pronounciation.

  • well, I'd suggest the oriental pronunciation: it should be practical in Israel on one side and closest to the ancient articulation of Hebrew.

  • Learn some fucking respect. He takes his time to help people and you dis him like that. If his accent is so bad then make your own video's and show us how it's done, smart ass.

  • I agree. we must be very grateful, thanks to him some of us are learning a whole new language over the net just like that.

though my father says the ayin is not like the aleph, it is this deep sound, just like the ayin in arabic.

    anyway thanks much

  • It's a shame that such language is so prevelant today---not long ago that would not have been allowed anywhere---now it's accepted as norm. Well it isn't and I for one am disgusted by it and yes I can do something about it---just not read any comments. Your mother must e so proud of you--or do you talk like that around her...????

  • Hay!

  • Thank you so much!

  • thank u

  • Thank you
