john tried so hard to keep the band together. I read up on it the rest of the band wanted to go the own ways. John didnt want it he really tried yet everyone blames him not me he is awesome
Creedence é parte da trilha sonora de minha história, por sinal, de uma parte dessa história muito boa, cheia de sonhos e de esperanças, e essa canção é uma ótima recordação. Adoro CCR, todas as músicas... Não me canso de escutá-las, curtindo cada solo, os arranjos, perfeitos, todos, símbolo de uma época de grandes mudanças no mundo... Que puta saudade!
This song reminds me of my youth....when "hill parties" where the norm around 1970-73 when I was in HS. I love these guys....the memories this song brings is just awesome.

Well, I bought this EP 45 rpm (4 songs), back in 1971, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, I paid for it $22.00 mexican pesos in that time! (Almost $1.80 dlls). Then in 1975, in Mexico City, I found a place where they use to put all the CCR LPs on Sale: $50.00 mexican pesos each! ($4.00 dlls each) And of course I bought one of each! I still have them, Also have them in CD version and the All CCR songs in the Wood Box Collection. Long Live CCR!
In the southern states the saying Tombstone shadow is for some one who has really bad luck. It is as if the luck is so bad that even his tombstone has a shodow (or death) on it.
Fogerty's influence was from deep southern blues music and from a mixture of cajun from louisanna. Blues has the down on your luck emphasis and cajun has the upbeat party effect combine these in the 60' and 70' ballad type son writing era and you get CCR.
@davesnijder, I'm laughing at "his solo's sound real complicated". While they often are, one of the coolest thing about this particular song is the one-note Fogerty solo @ 1:55. He hits that note 32 straight freakin' times. Not so complicated. :o)
@AlecKronicle I'd bet my last buck that it was the photographer or designers idea for them to pose that way. I could be very wrong but he just doesn't stike me as the huge ego type.
@AlecKronicle Agreed, but Stu and Cosmo are the most underrated rythym section in rock. They are a bedrock of solid grooves in an era of sloppy playing.
i bought a bootleg from ciicuit city of all places you got chronical and 20 bonu8s tracks almost every song hits like all the popular ones wish they were still playing together even without tom im 36 and they have been my fav since i can remember

Just one of those perfect 3 minute rock songs. I always wondered why this was an unpromoted "B" side and didn't become another big hit for Creedence. Great sound Fogerty pulls out of his trusty old Rickenbacker, with a tasty, compact solo that a lot of young guys could learn something from. One of their most under-rated songs and a personal favorite. After listening to several poor quality live clips, it was great to hear the original. Thanks for putting it up.

This album cover says it all. If Fogerty had three studio musicians, he would have done just as well.

I dont mean to rain on your parade but maybe you should do a little research, CCR was a very popular band in the late 60's well into the 70's..
Possibly The most popular American band at the time(British invasion)

listen to "zantz cant dance" it explains it all.
money fucks things up.
edslides 2 years ago
No, people do. Blaming currency is not only absurd, but intellectually lazy.
The song explains nothing. It's about a Fantasy Records exec. who tried to sue Fogerty. It is not a social commentary on the evils of cash.
