No one told him the chimps were not fed. He was so pissed after the shoot, and then in watching it later reaiized he did great impromptu performance since the chimps buggered up the shoot....

What a brilliant clip from the archives. I've been a magician for many years now and much of my inspiration has come from Mr Daniels and many of his card tricks I have used in my act. I believe he's one of the best of our era and we should do something to get him back on UK prime-time TV. He's brilliant!

He's not "too thick to know". I'm sure everyone gets the joke. The joke is that Africans can talk to chimpanzees. Some people find that somewhat racist and utterly unfunny.
I think he just meant to be silly, as if the chimpanzees would understand if he were speaking the language of the place they're from. It's unfortunate the way it came out but it would be like someone trying to talk to a poodle and joking that if they spoke French to it, it would understand.
unfortunetly for you, "african" is not an actual language and is in no way reffering to black people and if thats all you heard from him than that just means you have issues yourself, or your just an idiot.
