  • Oh yea I forgot to tell you something else even though you said this god still loves you. It said in the bible if u believe in your heart that Jesus was raised from the dead and love him you will b saved and god will not even remember your sins. Wow what kind of god will do that the answer is our god.

  • Ok so let me prove it to you start to trust in God he WILL provide. I don't know you but I don't want you to go to hell please get saved it is awesome that way . Hell is a horrible place if you go to hell you will regret it so GET SAVED

  • God's enough baby.. Understand free will, then all the petty questions you have will seem child like..

    God Over Money :P

  • I love God and hope he has mercy on all of you, I will pray that his shining light doesn't go out...ever! Please understand not all of this world is on materials, in fact, all this world is God, without him u wouldn't even have life, without him, our sins would never be forgiven. So I ask of you one thing, and that is to please, come to the church

  • His dry wit is pretty entertaining. Thumbs up if you agree.

  • GOD IS ENOUGH!!!

2:11, you don't have to go to hell...

  • God is enough!

  • This is rude. No, beyond that! You don't understand, if God was all the cruel things you said he was then why are you still alive? Would he not have gotten rid of you by now? No he wouldnt have.because he is not cruel and vindictive. He is loving and caring and generous! Yes you have your opinion but why do you think that this gives you the right to go and speak so cruelly about someone who is dear to thousands of people around the world? oh wait it doesnt.

  • llsouth.net

  • Can I start off by saying this is offensive on many levels. Second. This video show to the world how much you really know about God. We were not sent out of paradise for eating a simple fruit. This represented us sinning against God. The fruit did not contain some mystical powers. I also have answers for all the other rubbish you said about him being a heartless back stabber and if you wish to hear them or attempt to prove me wrong on this topic please do so. Send me an e-mail at

    mclockecool@be

  • God is enough.

  • GODS IS ENOUGH. GODS LOVE YOU AND EVERY ONE ELSE IN THIS WORLD.

  • GOD IS ENOUGH

  • God Is Enough

  • GOD IS ENOUGH

  • Who wants to do the same thing forever?

Why the premise of same thing? Because if you have eternity, you'll eventually be able to do everything. By then, eveything will become the same thing everyday, if not every year, every decade. However long it takes to do everything you want to do again, and again, and again....

  • what is his problem with God ?, what a stupid guy, by any fair calculation he has only three moth to live.

    God knows better

  • @Solidfox154 God should have expected this he knows everything no? so I guess god doesn't know better?

  • Boy your sure gonna have a rude awakening when you die!

  • If this man simply prayed for Jesus to enter his heart and cleanse him he would hear the truth. Until then he is still deep in Satans grip.

  • Pat Condell, you probably don't read this, but I'm sure you have stumbled across Objectivism.

What do you think about that?

  • Is it 2012 yet?

  • I absolutely love your videos, Pat! It is my life, and I'm going to live life my way and I don't give a fuck what you crazy religious people think. If their's a hell, bring it on baby, bring it on!

  • @stefanoGFsiciliano Gonna suck to be you!

  • @MikeF304 I'd rather be in hell, than with a bunch of Christians and worship an asshole. Haven sounds more like my hell to me. Does their have to be an eternity after life? Jeez, why can't we just disappear? Makes everything so much easier. I don't want to be conscious forever.

  • @stefanoGFsiciliano I am not here to judge but I'm guessing your wish will be granted to go to hell.

  • cool story Bro tell t again

  • This man is out off he's mind people.. there is a god and Jesus a holy spirit .. there is hell and heaven..

  • @elidania84 Evidence? :-P

  • @betterdrummerjoe You got it right, we walk around in this sub-natural realm thinking we know it all,(left brain), but the superior relm, the spirit realm is where the truth lies. I was extremely left brain and God had to surpress it so I could hear Him via my r. brain. If you want truth and not man's vain opinions, ask me. God truly got a hold of me and gave me great understanding. Why me? Because He invited me to accept and love Him and I ran into His loving arms. He shares secrets with such.

  • My sad confused friend, if you continue to hate God for what Satan is doing,(in God's name) yes you will face Him when you die, for we all will. But believe me you will be so overwhelmed with His incredible love and glory and majesty, that you will be absolutely speechless, perhaps for the first time ever? And yes if you don't repent and recieve God's love, YOU are the one who chooses to go to hell, for it is the only alternative, and it IS worse than Arabia. You say you want TRUTH? = Jesus!!!

  • Jesus Christ has a major equation problem by offering salvation thru his death on the cross but not subtracting and clearing out Gods irresistable nature to wipe his ass on the Earth with ridiculous rules, mistakes, human desires and theology, and the damaged culture and religious confines ridden with arrogance.....God in the final equal sign result can be factored out to be a worthless motherfucker

  • big mouth needs his ass whooped nsde and out gve him a pumpkn

  • @8066Don this coming from an asswipe who likes crush videos...you know, where some stupid dickdrip woman crushes live animals under heels for this idiots sexual pleasure. yeah, like YOUR gonna whoop anyones ass....fucking murdring pervert.

  • I want as much TRUTH in my life as possible. I don't need fairytales, they're for children.

  • i was like you, actually, God is my Best Friend!

If you know the Mercy of God, you´ll regret talk like that.

Life is a provation time is not the fairytail, you´re looking for...

    God Bless You.

  • The meaning of life is what gives it meaning :P everyone loves a cryptic clue once in a while :D

  • Pat Condell is so fantastically decent.

  • He's such a clever and witty man, fraught with ironic humor.I enjoy most of his videos.

  • @Kuralthys I'm sorry if my sister offended you with her comments. I know she went overboard. As Christians my sister and I have been told not to judge people of their wrong doings but to focus on our own mistakes Matthew 7:3 (If you have a bible your welcome to read that reference.) my sister is still too young to remember that.

  • nasty piece? Anyone can see how disrespectful this is. If you dont want to believe anything and even think that Christians are this or that, go ahead. But being disrespectful is not acceptable in ANY way. And every decent person has to be real on this.

  • Well my left ear is definitely an atheist, but my right ear has yet to be enlightened.

  • What kind of life would it be without evil and SIN ? What the fuck is SIN, or evil in that matter ?? It is relative to different ppl depending on their likes, and moral spine... You just take the easy way of listening and following somebody elses idea instead of thinking yourself.

  • Plus Christianity is NOT religion it's a lifestyle that you should try

  • Well listen to this you idiot. If you are right and I'm wrong I've lost nothing I've lived a fullfilling life, but if I'm right and you're wrong you've lost EVERYTHING make up your mind dude for what you want, an amazing life in heaven were there is No evil or sin, or hell where you will burn FOREVER none stop your choice but I'm going to be worshipping God

  • @Arocks014 One problem with that. What if there IS a God (or gods), but it's not the one you're worshipping, and it (or they) takes offense to your weird beliefs. Sure it works as an argument against people that believe there's no afterlife... But otherwise it's not much of an argument.

  • Forget it mate, its not for you. try golf

  • Pat looks like hugh heffners ball sack

  • haha what r u on.

well its ur loss if u dont believe, ur the 1 thts goin 2 go 2 hell not me.

oww nd ur the 1 tht believes in a fairytale, think about it scientists believe tht before the universe thr was nothing at all, nd u cant make something out of nothing think about it. u have 2 have a creator to have a creation, plus i was like u 1ns i didnt believe in anything!! untilll i went 2 egypt and a light came down and lit all the candles with fire tht doesnt burn. open ur eyes

  • @kerolous100 That's right! Oh how great to hear an enlightened one! We're gonna have eternal front row seats when we watch all these unbelievers burn in hell. Isn't that great. I'm sure we'll enjoy it. Those stupid science believers, what have we got to them to thank for? I'm not talking about the internet, harnessing electricity, sending men to the moon, advanced medicine, central heating, clean water, cars, trains, planes, satellites and washing machines. I mean, they just lie ALL the time.

  • @kerolous100 Yes, it's much better to believe in magic. That way you can live in a world of, oh let me think, sorry I mean, not think. Let's just have the same answer to every question. Yes! God did it. Fantastic, why are we here? Yes, to worship God. How did we get here. Yes! God made us. What are here for? Yes, to worship God. How did the universe happen? Yes, God did it. How does the sun rise and set? Yes, God did it. Man, I seem to know EVERYTHING.

  • We don't care to explain if you don't care yourself .even though you pretend you did. It waste of other people's time.

  • type in on youtube - bleeding statue of jesus

1st link, then tell me u dont believe

  • Hi I just wana say that its so obvious that god exists , and you need 2 open your eyes.

I think the only reason that you and most atheists refuse to believe that thrs a god is because you don't want 2 believe that there's a hell, so you try to find anything in life which will tell you that god doesn't exist, and never bother looking for the proofs, miracles and many other things showing you that god does exist.

  • Pat Condell, a poor mans christopher hitchens. Same amount of hate and bile but without any kind of logic or reasoning.

  • @srspower christianity has no proof "the scripture"? thats not proof thats just fairy tales give GOOD HARD PHYSICAL EVIDENCE ANYONE? AND DONT SAY THE BIBLE OR BLEEDING STATUE OR MOSES ITS ALL BULLSHIT AND BY THE WAY NOAHS ARK WAS NEVER FOUND IT IS A HOAX JACKASSES

  • @godsaidpullmyfinger1

Ah you think i'm a theist. Afterall you couldn't possibly be atheist and disagree with Pat right? Well you can, as i am, along with anyone who doesn't have shit for brains.

  • doesn't he teach to turn the other check and repent?

  • Pat Condell is actually a seeker. Surprise, surprise!

  • @Troul478 He is a "seeker" of favours coming from the Jews. He works for them.

  • @kolkrabe19 Yes, of course Pat's a 'seeker of favours'. He just HAS to be a Jewish spy! He couldn't possibly have a mind of his own, he's doing it all to please his make believe friends. That's right, your make believe enemies in your make believe world and make believe petty Allah who likes severely burned foreheads and hellfire for those pesky infidels that dragged Mankind into the modern world. Yup, you carry on kicking and screaming all the way, sitting at your computer in a well lit room.

  • @ritchloui Okay. but what´s that "well-lit room" all about ?

  • @kolkrabe19 Ha. Well, if you live in a northern hemisphere country then it gets dark long before you want to go to sleep and it's dark long before you want to get up. That's what I mean, you know, our forefathers harnessed electricity and invented the light bulb, not just candlelight. Mind you, with these damned stupid 'longlasting' 'eco-bloody-friendly' bulbs you need four time as many of them.

  • @ritchloui I think you are demented. Like Condell.

  • @kolkrabe19 LOL. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.

  • @ritchloui Pots cant talk. You are demented, like the crackpot in this video.

  • Why do people think Pat hates God? He hates the murder, intolerance, bigotry, homophobia, sexism, and violence caused by people who believe in God. Nothing beyond that.

  • @mrquinnie429 i can answer your question....people are stupid and easily hypnotized.

  • Comment removed

  • Maybe he's a eunuch. He seems awfully bitter about something, and the only thing that I can think of to make him that bitter is if someone cut his nuts off.

  • What made you so bitter?

  • @friedie1jeff funny how after i write a song and play it for someone, they'll usually say something like "what a depressing song, why are you so bitter and pessimistic" yet completely overlooking the fact that I wrote a song...hope that answers your question.

  • @codern If you wanted to be recognized for your song-writing, then you should have learned by now how to do that - and how not to. Now, people do not even recognize you for song-writing, and, as well, they see you as an embittered person.

  • @friedie1jeff Im embarrassed, I made the naive assumption that i was talking to someone with a brain in their head.

  • @codern You most assuredly are.

  • I like pat's determination and confidence. I don't, however agree with what he believes. We through ourselves out of heaven. I believe Pat has a personal issue with God. A sort of hate has been built-up in his heart towards Him. His questions are relativity uneducated for someone who calls himself an Atheist and can't take any sort of stance in defending it.

When we were children we used to ask questions hoping for an answer. Pat seems like he asks questions for the sake of questioning.

  • pat is closed minded about being open minded.

  • i like pat, i don't agree with his views on god, but i find his videos quite amusing. he asked what his purpose in life was, like nearly everyone alive, we ponder this question from time to time. well the reason we're here is simple it is to prepare ourselves for death. death is the only thing that is certain in this life the rest is a crap shoot. so to pat i say this prepare yourself for the inevetable, it will happen and nobody knows when their time is.

  • If God is the common denominator and the totality then everything in space is God, that's you and me.

Religious texts are the science books of the past, unlike science though they actually consider the soul and emotions and morality. For some religion is the only education they can get, would you begrudge them that and sell them beer instead ? Do you think setting up universities and charging £9000per course is better for those in poverty than getting basic education and help from religion ?

  • @optionsnone Since 'education' can mean different things, I see your point there. But I do question how religion uses soul & morality since a soul by spirit may or may not even be real, & since morality is merely a position on good & bad which is decided by your perception of a particular behavior or happening. I mean, we say that a hurricane is bad (at least the damage is causes) but is it? Or is it just bad because of the way we perceive it effects sentient creatures? Just something to ponder.

  • @allfitch84 Could it be that the soul is the energy transmitted by the sparks of synapses, heaven knows how the conscious can explore it or anything else though). Perhaps the space this soul covers is the scull size of our next brain ?

  • @optionsnone perhaps I should have said "brane". Who knows ?

  • @allfitch84 Heaven and hell are constructs of taste. I think soul and body are scale relative like energy to mass. No energy is ever destroyed only moved. Good and bad are a matter of perspective .

  • I wanna go for a beer with that guy.

  • @yksniset This fool is leading people to eternal destruction.

  • @EIGHTYNINENINERS Muslims, Christians, they won't stop talking about eternal destruction or hellfire: How fun.

  • "...enjoy a social drink from time to time, not a huge amount, just enough to kill a horse."

    Pure Genius.

  • A good goal for your life; keep making videos like this! I was surprisingly entertained =)

  • Well sinse you didn't get struck by lighting by now you must be right. Dont think god would let you keep this Plasphemy going for so long.

  • books are not enough

  • Let´s outlaw holohoax !

  • One could argue that if you are really interested in the biblical matter as a whole

and someone expresses to you that "Hell" isn't a bible teaching than why is you is not the very lease interested at ease in seeing or hearing another side in which it is the truth. if religion teaches that you burn in hell than I'm saying that it don't teach that than why not inquire more info from the source that says so.

  • Also, please be reminded that these people doesn't represent God I think this is what you fell to understand. So let us dismantle these false teaching.

  • @SANW2010 God is represented by exactly what?

  • Greeting

Second is that you mention in one of your video's that you will be damned to hell.!?

    Not true.

HELL is mentioned in the bible, but it never endorsed the idea that you will burn in hell fire for eternity or for a short period of time.

So than where did the knowledge about hell come from?

So to understand that we must travel back in time to understand how this idea was shaped. But let us be clear about one thing, the hell-fire doctrine is not a bible teaching.

  • @SANW2010 There are many things claimed as truth that have no substantive basis. This is my greatest objection to religion in general.

  • Comment removed

  • Hey Pat! First time I have viewed one of your videos and I must say you have some pretty clever, dead-on commentary going on here. How about this for an idea: how about being a believer in Life? It's clearly something that is real, concrete; something that is indisputable. How about getting up each and every day and looking around yourself with enjoyment, knowing that once life is gone, it's gone for good. So believe in it for all you're worth, because really, nothing else matters.

  • @33mk24yehuda

Friend. Taste of the Pie n Mash and see that is it good. Well it's not that good but at least it exists.

  • @33mk24yehuda

If he thinks and is intelligent, then it is no longer a force. No force can think. I'll tell you what I think. I don't think there is any proof of this God.

  • @33mk24yehuda

Can this force think? Is it intelligent?

  • Well, Pat Condell, do you really want an answer or did you just want to make this video? Because after listening to you, I have decided that you really do contradict yourself. You say you will keep an open mind and what you simply want is the truth but then you turn around and say there are certain things you won't accept (regardless of whether they are the truth). Don't you think you should make up your mind? (you probably won't even reply to this but happy summer all the same).

  • @ogunitracy It is possible that some people can't learn. However, should I not try to teach given that some (an unknown group) really won't learn. The point: There are things that we know and there are things that we feel. The two may not be in sync. The inconsistencies are the result of our feelings and/or bad/incomplete interpretations.

If I claim that all notions of god are man made, can you accept that assuming it is true?

  • @MyContext

"If I claim that all notions of god are man made, can you accept that assuming it is true?"

Of course, if you could prove it I would have no choice. If I can prove that they are not, will you believe it? And what do you mean by 'notions'?

Note; I sent you a post before this one.

  • @ogunitracy Notions - Ideas, thoughts, beliefs - that seem to have a basis, but may in fact not be as strong as they seem when actually examined. It depends on the definition for all of the notions of god seem man-made given the horrors, contradictions, idiocy, self aggrandizing, vile, mythological base, and various other things that are just wrong - I need an actual deity/god attesting to the validity. Given the claims, it knows what I need to know!

  • @33mk24yehuda

A force. well, I'm looking at the world around me and it's pretty good work. Whoever or whatever made it had to have been intelligent. I've never heard of an intelligent force. I know lots of forces, but all of them are created things too and none of them is intelligent. How can we (who can think) be created by something that cannot think?

  • @33mk24yehuda

okay. Is there actually someone who created everything?

  • @33mk24yehuda

nature was not here in the beginning. Nature is one of the creations so nature can't possibly be God. God created nature. Why should I be worshiping something that was created?

  • @33mk24yehuda

The reason I am asking is simple. I call the creator of the universe God but that seems inconsistent with your worldview. Who is this creator and why should we not worship Him?

  • @ogunitracy A few problems:

    1) We don't know that it was created. Since, we don't know anything about ultimate beginnings.

    2) Why worship anything? Appreciation is one thing...worship is something different...

  • @MyContext

    1. We know that it began to exist and everything that began to exist had a cause.

    2. If you do not worship anything, then you are in danger of placing yourself on a pedestal. Also, if the world has a creator, why should we not worship Him?

  • @ogunitracy 1) Why are you saying it began to exist? We know of a particular state of existence. That's it!

    2) That is not true. Not worshiping anything is not a point of danger unless that is one's issue. One can support the well being of people in general without any special emphasis on self or stuff. Unless the entity is needy why would it need worship? It should be satisfied with whatever it does given that the claims - since, on the basis of the claims, we are pathetically stupid.

  • @MyContext

    1. Actually, the world began to exist at the big bang. Time and space all began at that point and like I said, whatever begins to exist has a cause.

    2. I never said he needed your worship. I said you needed it. You are right in that selflessness can be attained without a deity, my problem is more on the lines of why it would be an aim. The only answer is that you should not be selfish which is like saying you should be good because you should be good. It has no basis.

  • @ogunitracy Semantics issue maybe? 1) The Big Bang wasn't from nothing. Time & Space cannot be said to have begun. Since, if there were not time nothing would have changed. If there were no space, there is nothing for an expansion. 2) Worship seems wrong. Unfortunately, for better or worse, emotion is actually an end unto itself. The claims regardless of their validity tend to be justifications for an emotional disposition. The basis of that emotional disposition is really the question...

  • @MyContext

1.Don't take my word for it, look it up. I don't know the argument well enough to articulate - I wish I did. I plan to study it when I have the time but you can do that too.

    2. You seem to think religion is based simply on emotion and not facts and evidence. May I ask why you think so?

  • @ogunitracy If you are speaking of religious arguments attempting to co-opt the Big Bang, it should be noted that changes are made to the Big Bang argument to make the religious position sound better.

I don't think religion is based simply on emotion. I think it is based on mythology taken as fact. The emotion just serves to make it difficult to review the fact that it is mythology. Check out user EVID3NC3 - History of God. Granted this video only relates to Judaism & related religions...

  • @MyContext

I won't argue with you about the big bang except that the 'changes' you refer to are not necessarily untrue. Now, your argument works both ways. It could also be that emotions are preventing you from judging the evidence clearly so you regard them all as myths. Can you tell me why you think they are all myths?

  • @ogunitracy It is dishonest to misrepresent a position. Here is the link regarding the mythology of Judaism /watch?v=MlnnWbkMlbg

You are correct I can't call them all myth. However, I have no reason to suppose that any of them are correct. However, to be fair, are you advocating one of them to be correct. Since, given the known conflicts of claims by various groups, it is not possible for them all to be correct at least in a categorical fashion.

  • @MyContext

I can agree with you about one thing there. They can't all be correct. I'm actually advocating Christianity. The existence of Jesus is the support that I have.

  • @ogunitracy I reject the resurrection claim.

    /watch?v=MlnnWbkMlbg

  • @MyContext

I watched the video. It was nice. He makes certain points at the beginning and simply builds the rest of the story from those points. Since he doesn't make much attempt to prove those foundations, the whole story becomes a complete reinterpretation of the Bible with a faulty foundation.

But we were talking about Jesus. Have you looked at the evidence for the resurrection?

  • @ogunitracy The resurrection amounts to claims. The fact that Judaism is based on mythology and Jesus supports it is just another discrediting point. There may be some historical facts, however, the overall claims and notions of any god is just story.

Does it make sense to you that no god has spoken to clear up any confusion? If the claims of an all-powerful being who wants us to know it are true, does it make sense for it not to present itself?

  • @MyContext

No God has spoken up? God speaks to me everyday (almost) and of course, there's Jesus and his resurrection. Perhaps you should look at the evidence for it.

  • @ogunitracy Hmm...

    1) You are kidding

    2) You are seriously unbalanced

    3) God actually does talk to you... If this is the case, God has made you appear to be #2 given that he doesn't talk to everyone...

/watch?v=he_R3pKx-zg <- Given the basis of your claims, I will suggest medical attention. Take Care...

  • @MyContext

Actually, you will hear a lot of Christians say that God speaks to them. Whenever we have questions, He speaks to us through the Bible or he simply gives us the answers to the questions. (In my case, I simply wake up and I know it.) I never said that I hear his voice the way I hear yours.

    Now, on to Jesus?

  • @ogunitracy So, you lied, since, no god has not actually spoken...you attributed what you felt to be appropriate to god. That explains a lot about that putrid thing that is the bible. Jesus was just a man at best... The resurrection was just a story like other resurrection stories...

    /watch?v=hSS-88ShJfo

There is NO GOD attesting to any VALIDITY of any claims. Does that make sense to you?

  • @MyContext

No, I did not lie. an answer to a question I did not know has to be either from me (who did not know it) or God (who knows all).

If Jesus did not rise from the dead, what about those people who saw Him?

  • @ogunitracy I wake of with answers to things all the time. There are many people who "have the answer" after they get some rest. They don't call it god... They don't suggest that it was an act of god or a message from god ... you did... I take it as a lie, since, you can't say that it was god... you attributed it to god. There are many things that are attributed to god, but there was nothing supernatural happening...

    /watch?v=WKhQs2-g8EY

    Think about your attributions...

  • @ogunitracy Stories claim all kinds of things... Did you look at the gospel accounts? There isn't even agreement on who was at the tome... Stories and Stories... Do you really think a god as claimed would leave it up to us to present it? Given the fact that we...

    1) Make up stuff

    2) Change things to suit how we want things to be

    3) Fight each other to create many points of distrust

    4) Lie just to manipulate others

^ - If you could do better, would you use us to deliver a message?

  • @MyContext

Think of the large amount of people you are accusing of a conspiracy. Paul said as many as 500 people saw Jesus at the same time. Also, the people willingly died for their claim. People may die for a lie, but only if they think it is true. No one willingly dies for what they know is false.

As for the disagreement in accounts, that is quite natural. Two witnesses never give the same account of a story and if they do, it suggests collaboration.

  • @ogunitracy Actually, people do do that. Lies are told for many reasons and some people feel honor bound to hold to certain notions due to loyalty to certain people. If I knew that my son were innocent, but all evidence shows that only he or I could have been responsible with more evidence against him... I might take the blame so that he would be spared.

With 500+ people who supposedly witnessed this...there should have been more historical evidence. Must be another story - doesn't add up!

  • @MyContext

If I make up a story about a risen man and the story is false, I might decide that I hate life and die for it anyway, but there has never been an event where a whole group of people planned a conspiracy and when they were being persecuted, tortured, hanged and crucified, not one person said 'please don't kill me, it's all a lie.' Not one.

What do you mean by more historical evidence? We have enough accounts.

  • @ogunitracy Looking at the historical material for Jesus it is an unknown as to whether he actually existed.

The biblical accounts are all hearsay accounts written after the supposed time of Jesus. The gospels cannot be said to be official anything, since, the material was selected and possibly edited from many possible stories. There were various councils convened to "standardized" what was being presented to the masses.

Thanks for forcing me to do more research...

  • @MyContext

There are 42 sources talking about Jesus within 150 years of his death. The emperor during Jesus' time (Tiberius) has only 10 sources (including Luke) that mention him. By usual standards, it is quite obvious that Jesus existed.

As for your claims about the gospel, you have no proof of them. If you say people deliberately made them up, we're back to the question of who, when, why and most importantly, why people would die for a story they made up.

    You're welcome. Research is good.

  • @ogunitracy Send the links..., since, if they don't refer to Jesus as opposed to Christ, they are not usable given the fact the Christ is a title....

They could lie retrospectively, since, the gospels weren't written be the people present, this is second hand information at best....

  • @ogunitracy I see the issues... I will go with the idea of Jesus existing. However, the resurrection is a non-starter. I am more inclined to accept necrophiliac grave robbers than an actual resurrection.

  • @MyContext

    @MyContext

The problem with that view is that all the evidence points in a completely different direction. There is no evidence of any 'necrophiliac grave robbers'. Also, Jesus' appearances are attested to by multiple sources, including early sources like Paul's letter to the Corinthians, Paul saw him, the apostles and 500 other people saw him too. Unless you can disprove that evidence, what exactly is your reason for rejecting it?

  • @ogunitracy Let's see... People tell stories... People make outrageous claims... So, no I don't have evidence, it just seems ridiculous. So, either...

    1) He wasn't actually dead just really messed up...

    2) The people saw a look alike

    3) The people bent on the creation of the religion made it up..

    4) other unconsidered possibilities...

Would you accept "documented" claims of miracles from non-christian groups in support of their notion of a deity?

  • @ogunitracy No, there is no evidence of necrophiliac grave robbers. However, that makes more sense than an actual resurrection as an explanation for an empty tome... I am sure you have heard of many Elvis sightings... do you believe that Elvis is alive somewhere in seclusion? I am sure many people have "documented" seeing Elvis alive and well...after his death...

Can I prove that there was no resurrection? NO.

I do find the idea ridiculous? YES

Can I accept the idea of a resurrection? NO

  • @MyContext

The Elvis sightings are not as reliable as this because 500 people did not see Elvis at once.

Since all the evidence points in the opposite direction, necrophiliac grave robbers is not a viable option.

I have given you the facts and shown you that the resurrection is the only viable theory. If we follow the evidence where it leads, then Jesus did resurrect. I'm sorry you find the idea ridiculous but it would be nice if you would just consider it for a moment. What if it's true?

  • @ogunitracy Only a claim of 500 people. Things that are impossible based on everything that we know are automatically in last place as an acceptable explanation for anything. People did all kinds of rituals with bodies at that time. So to claim resurrection given all of the NORMAL explanations is not reasonable.

The more people who believe the easier it is to convince more people of impossible things. People suspend their thinking in favor of what the group says - especially their group.

  • @MyContext

Paul's letters were widely circulated. In the letter, he was reminding the people of the 500 who saw Jesus. if it was a lie, he would have been called out. What other normal explanations?

    1. he wasn't really dead - crucifixion is lethal

    2. They saw a look alike - I'm sure Jesus' disciples knew him and that wouldn't explain the empty tomb

    3. It was made up - and they all went to their deaths knowing it was a lie?

If you have any other theories, please provide them.

  • @ogunitracy 1) I apologize for being flippant with my possible explanations, however, it should be noted that my ill conceived list is more possible than a resurrection. 2) All of the gospel material is well after the event . We don't know who the gospel writers are... 3) Fox News lies/deceives/distorts information regularly, do the people who support their position complain? I submit very rarely...

All religions make incredible claims and people are suggestible: ... /watch?v=WKhQs2-g8EY

  • @MyContext

I didn't think you were flippant but all is well. The ideas in your list are possible, but not plausible because the evidence does not support them. The evidence supports the resurrection. All religions make incredible claims but the resurrection is actually supported by evidence. That's the difference. If then, you hold reason supreme, you have to accept the resurrection.

The facts that I listed are generally regarded as reliable by historians because they meet relevant criteria.

  • @ogunitracy We seem to have a disconnect over one point. The issue of what constitutes evidence. I acknowledge that I have varying standards for evidence based solely on what I find reasonable. The amount of evidence that I would need for the resurrection is staggering, since, it contradicts everything that I think I know. The gullibility is the primary reason that claims of people are not automatically acceptable.

Do you accept alien abduction stories?

  • @MyContext

I haven't heard any alien abduction stories and seen whether they are corroborated by as much evidence as this.

Here is a list of minimal facts for the resurrection

Jesus died, was buried and his tomb was later empty

He was seen by several people after his death including up to 500 at once

He was seen by two of his enemies (Paul and James)

There is no explanation for those facts beyond the resurrection.

Please tell me why it is so difficult to believe and what would make it easier.

  • @ogunitracy Remember: There are many fantastic claims today...

    1) How many people are reporting on the resurrection claim outside of the bible?

    2) How many people think the "founding fathers" were Christians?

People can be quite gullible. I require verification when the claim seems impossible. Religion is like the battered wife's claim that her husband loves her - it may be true - but the claim is indeed questionable!

  • @ogunitracy Why is it difficult for me to believe?

We have ??? religions all claiming to speak for a god(s). We have no proof of any god. If god is all powerful/knowing and wants everyone to believe in it, it doesn't need people to make claims for it - given all of the claims - god could present itself on every AV medium simultaneously, why use us to give a message about it? It could speak directly to every person.

Does it make sense that all claims come from people?

  • @MyContext

2000 years ago, a man appeared and claimed to be God. He performed miracles. When asked for proof of his claim, he said he would be killed and resurrect after three days. Three days after his crucifixion, his body was gone. I have given you enough evidence to show that the resurrection is the only plausible theory. If this goes, then He really was God. You ask why God doesn't just appear and speak. Well, He did and if you refuse that evidence, what will convince you?

  • @ogunitracy If I had met this man, perhaps I would believe. I do not inherently trust ANY claim if it seems unreasonable or unsupported. Does it make sense to you that all there is - is claims?

There was a time that people who probably suffered from seizures were considered possessed. Do you still believe in demon possession, given what we know now?

I performed cold reading tricks when I was younger, I had people believing I had power (it was a trick). People can be very gullible...

  • @ogunitracy Everything about the Jesus claims smacks of mythology. There is nothing there to trust. The things that are attributed to Jesus are generally good, however, there are a number of bad things. Most people see the "Golden Rule" as the best rule, I find it lacking. The golden rule assumes that the primary actors wishes represent the best wishes. It does not consider the affect on others if the their assumptions are wrong.

  • @MyContext Lets assume that most women want to talk when they are upset. Lets assume that most men do not want to talk when they are upset. Given these two positions, if a man does to a woman what he would prefer - he will upset the woman. If a woman does to a man what she would prefer - she will upset the man. This can easily be the net effect of the Golden Rule. I understood this as a kid - a god should have theoretically known this as well.

  • @MyContext There are many other issues with the claim of Jesus as god. However, I have no issue with the idea of him as man who suggested some things better than what they were... He was by no means perfect as is often claimed.

  • @ogunitracy Historians understand that any claim from history takes a great deal of corroboration. Since, people almost invariably bias the material in some fashion. So, the claim of Jesus being born of virgin is juxtaposed against other claims that Jesus is a bastard. This confirms the existence of Jesus. Virgin born claim seems to be nonsense.

Do you think a historian in the year 2300 should use Fox News as a basis for reviewing American Society?

  • @MyContext

I think a historian in the year 2300 should use all the news channels to review our society. You're right in that there are criteria for establishing reliability of sources.

    1. if a claim is made by multiple sources

    2. if a claim is made early

    3. if a claim is confirmed by an enemy

All the facts I listed fit these criteria and that's why they're accepted. That's why the resurrection is all it could be. But you still haven't told me why you find it so hard to accept. Please.

  • @ogunitracy What if it's true? I would expect that documents that support the specific divinity aspect accepted by god would not decay or something else clear and extraordinary if the god entity could not present itself. All of the material claimed to be of god is man made. There is no proof of any god. So, the claims given what we know are ridiculous and the claims of god being good at least given the bible's depiction is egregious.

  • @33mk24yehuda

Okay. Now you're talking over my head. Simply put, where did the world come from?

  • @33mk24yehuda

Not really. If the wound gets infected, you're in serious trouble. But I think we have two different definitions of God. Where did the world come from?

  • @33mk24yehuda

God is nature? What does that mean?

  • awesome vid always interesting best wishes from here ,bye
