Well when its the case of 8 lions vs a female elephant, i congratulate the lions because elephants don't travel alone, therefore, a lion pride would need to separate 1 elephant from the herd(or pack or family or w/e there called) while trying not to provoke the elephants as to stampede. My case and point, an elephant herd would consist of over 20 elephants were as a lion pride ranges from 5-10 lions, so yes i do consider it a fair fight if the pride manages to take down an elephant.
