After preparing or eating turkey on Thanksgiving for some sixty years I actually learned something quite simple yet useful, that is, to remove the wish bone first.
The video says the Aga will take up to a 13kg turkey but last year I cooked a 15kg turkey without any problems. I don't use the pan grill. First I always brown the bottom, then flip the turkey over to brown the top. Placing the bacon strips to stop over-browning is a delicious alternative to aluminium for such a large bird.
