This prayer and this sound of this voice and words that I hear in this beautiful video give me comfort tonight. Today our family lost a loved one doing what he does best and that was helping others. He was trying to get us all there safely to lay our other brother down to rest when he himself was called by our Lord. Two passings in our family in less than a week. Lord God give us all strength, we so need your loving arms to comfort us.

This prayer has gotten me threw some of the worst things I could have ever battled in my life up to this day! homeless, no food, no one in my life that loves me then I say this prayer and I remember that I ALWAYS have that someone above that will always love me forever and always and when I mess up he is there to forgive me and help me!

A quite interesting theory on prayers. Why do some people receive what they want and others dont? Think of it like this- you cant drink from an empty glass. What one receives after praying is considered to be a "borrowed" energy. One has to continue to do good deeds in order to borrow that energy and receive what he's asking for. It's like a bank account- you simply cant withdraw from an empty account. Same concept when praying...

Thank your for a great video. Spread the word! Evolution is a DANGEROUS idea. It contradicts the Bible, and causes people to lose faith in the Bible. It also makes redemption meaningless. If there was no creation then there was no fall. Instead there is continual evolution and progression and development. One cannot blame Adam and Eve for imperfection if they arose through chance evolutionary processes. Thus there would be no need of a Savior!!!

The Serenity Prayer IS used for recovery from addiction, as funksensations said a year ago, but, after walking the path with my own brother as he recovered, I have learned that this prayer is a powerful prayer that I pray as often as I can, and everyone can say these simple words for daily prayer Namaste

Although i am not religious, i have taken the meaning of this prayer to heart. It has made me seriously reflect and teach me to accept or change the situation. It has got me through some difficult times. God is not a physical manifestation. To me, God is us and is us taking control of our lives and asking ourselves for guidance, because we all need a bit of help at some point. Thank you.

Actually the serenity prayer IS taken from a Christian Theologian, Reinhold Neibhur, and is a Christian prayer. The twelve steps is not a religion but does base itself upon Christian religious/spiritual principles. Both of the founders were Christian. I can only assume that those who are so anti Christian really don’t understand the teachings of Christ which are simply about getting over our own self- serving nature. Which is what the Twelve step program is really about.

I have a bit of news for you. Ever single human walking this planet is religoius. You just have to examine your life and ask.... Who or What is important and takes all my time, money or my thoughts,... in my life, and that is your god? I have seen so many find God in a bottle, in drugs, in celebrities in their home, car, sadly put their faith in another human and find out, sadly it had been misplaced. Me, I look to the cross and find my GOD! Everything else falls into place after that.

I attended 12 step meetings for years. The only thing that keeps me clean is the promise of heaven made to me by my Lord and savior , Jesus Christ. If you dont know him today, please make an attempt to. Tomorrow is not certain for anyone, but Christ is. The same today, yesterday and tomorrow.
I attended a few 12 step meetings in my life as well. I will never knock the 12 steps but i know i sure am glad that i met Jesus. As far as the 12 steps go, i let go and let God. I pray the same for all that suffer from the diseases of the world.

Actually the serenity prayer IS taken from a Christian Theologian, Reinhold Neibhur, and is a Christian prayer. The twelve steps is not a religion but does base itself upon Christian religious/spiritual principles. Both of the founders were Christian. I can only assume that those who are so anti Christian really don’t understand the teachings of Christ which are simply about getting over our own self- serving nature. Which is what the Twelve step program is really about.

I really wanted to find a piano tutorial or sheet music for this piece so I could play it for my church. But the best I could do is improv with my guitar to find the right notes. Thank you so much for introducing this song to me. It is so heartfelt and beautiful. It hits all the right spots in my heart whenever I glorify God. :)

For years I considered giving my life to Jesus, but I kept thinking "How can God love me?" I knew that He knew my past and I thought He had a long list of grievances against me.This song reminds me of when I finally surrendered and began to lean on God. He cleaned me up and showed me the way. God does love me and He loves you too. Why does God love you? Because God is Love! I was a blind woman wandering for 40 years the Israelites were "blind" people wandering, how long are you going to wander?

We do not have to say we are "religious" but we do eventually learn that "god" is in all of us. However you find it or see it is up to you, but this video and song has a great message fo us all. Even if we all interpet it a bit different. Namaste and blessings to all.

I have a bit of news for you. Ever single human walking this planet is religoius. You just have to examine your life and ask.... Who or What is important and takes all my time, money or my thoughts,... in my life, and that is your god? I have seen so many find God in a bottle, in drugs, in celebrities in their home, car, sadly put their faith in another human and find out, sadly it had been misplaced. Me, I look to the cross and find my GOD! Everything else falls into place after that.

In description box it says it was written by Reinhold Niebuhr on July 1, 1943.
And that it was used early in the war as well as reported being used before that..
But 1943 was not "early" in the war.. it was infact in the middle of the war.. or depending how you look at it.. near the end of it..
So is the date for when it was written wrong or what?

I attended 12 step meetings for years. The only thing that keeps me clean is the promise of heaven made to me by my Lord and savior , Jesus Christ. If you dont know him today, please make an attempt to. Tomorrow is not certain for anyone, but Christ is. The same today, yesterday and tomorrow.

I attended a few 12 step meetings in my life as well. I will never knock the 12 steps but i know i sure am glad that i met Jesus. As far as the 12 steps go, i let go and let God. I pray the same for all that suffer from the diseases of the world.

@funksensations the serenity prayer was a christian prayer long before AA "adopted" it. It still is to much of the world. I use it as a reminder to let go of things beyond my control because I spend too much time getting angry and frustrated. I'm designing a tattoo with the serenity prayer in it.
