The referee intervenes everytime dzhabar has an advantage while he lets JWP hammer on dzhabar all he wants. Its a tv show. The producers want JWP to fight yodsaenklai. Yeah moving around the ring all the time is normally counted against the fighter, especially if the other fighter is not moving much at all. Think Dzhabar wanted thought he had the fight from the first few rounds, so the next few rounds he tried to avoid taking risks and avoid too much contact, waiting for the fight to end. JWP was desperate, so had to move forward, and that definitely counted well for him.

The catch and sweep is an excellent technique, i think you would prefer a kickboxing fight rather than a traditional muay thai fight. The only thing that disappointed me in the contender is that the refs never gave the fighters enough time to work in the clinch. It was a hard decision to call this fight, JWP dictated the pace of the fight but also a lot of his kicks and punches landed on the guard, anyway i'm happy JWP did win since i'm a fan.

Dzhabar got robbed on that one. JWP took round 1 and 4, but giving him 5 was complete BS. Dzha was much better technically and dished out far more punishment during the fight. I'll admit it was really close, but I thought Dzhabar pulled it out. We'll see come September!

Love how there are so many experts out there. First thing to consider, if you watch the fight on TV or Youtube, the rounds are EDITED. You do not see the full round or all of the action. You really can't judge from your seats.

As for conspiracy theories though, I'm inclined to think that the producers "would prefer" a grudge match or rematch between Yod and JWP-esp from the first episode when they showed Yod showing JWP his belt and said "Hey John Wayne, remember this?" Good stuff!

You do ot see all of the fight on the contender so it is impossible to judge - they replay the same hits and kicks from differet angles to make the fight more exciting.

Personaly I think Jabba is a dirty fighter and goes for takedownd / throws more tha the muay thai side - which score but not as much as a kick that lands - also he Ran around the ring in the last round - that cost him the fight!

After this fight and bruised, JWP will very likely lose to Yodesaenklai, who didn't spend much sweat beating Sean Wright. Anyhow, JWP had lost to Yodesaenklai before. From  entertainment point of view, Dharbar is a preferred opponent than JWP to Yodesaenklai in the final match, because of his "unknown" qualities and seemingly had beaten JWP.
