Hummingbirds are such fearless little guys, and aggressive towards other animals, thats why I love them XD I love to just stand right in front of my feeder and watch them suck up the water. One time I saw two hummingbirds fighting, one fell to the ground and I went to see if he was okay, then he flew to me very fast and almost poked me with his beak :P
Oh yeah? Hehe... that's cool! :) I haven't seen too many Hummingbirds around here (this was taped on vacation), but they are interesting birds to watch. I taped a sparrow couple fighting once, they were at it for quite a while before they finally broke it up!
They're very hard to tape though! They move so quickly, they're in the shot one instant, then *boop*! That hat thing sounds like an interesting idea, I wonder how long it would take them to come to it!
Ya I heard that hat thing on animal planet... the best animal invention thingys, eh I forgot what it was, but I'm gonna try it one of these days :3
I don't think it'd take long for a hummingbird to come, just sit quietly and still and the little bird should appear, it'd probably better if its during their season too
This is a great video... Nice and close!!! I love that feeder too. Thanks to this video, I now know how to get some birds here without feeding the neighbors cats!!! Hummingbirds won't "spill" their food on the ground and then become the cats food!!
I haven't seen a hummingbird in a while but I know they're around... food should bring them back!
Thanks! The funny thing about this video is I shot this on vacation - it's my grandfather's feeder... but just recently (and I mean recently as of TODAY), we put a hummingbird feeder up in our yard! I hope to get some shots in our yard of the hummingbirds as well! I've seen them around here, but I haven't seen one in about 3 or 4 years here - I'm guessing they're around, but I'm not *sure* of that yet...
they are scarce around my parts here.. in CA I had one in my back yard..he would come really close to me...buzzing and scared the crap outta me one time...he would fly way up in the air and come as fast as he could down to buzz a tree..then back up and then again and again!
Ha! Nice! :) They're not very common around here either, I shot this one on vacation... I've seen one here and there, but there haven't been that many in the area.
Finally made it in here to see this one....what a treat! I don't see them much anymore and miss that dearly. (location, location!lol) Ruby-Throated, surely. Very nice!
Thank you! :) I've seen them in the area before (I took a picture of one buzzing around a flower on one of our trees), but I haven't seen them lately...
Cool! I love hummers. I was wondering where all my visitors were this year and I found them up the street sipping off a neighbor's feeder. They've got a lot of traffic! Funny how these guys seemed to prefer the ports away from camera! little jewels.
Hehe... they must be tired of the paparazzi - :) I've seen a few in the yard before, but I've never tried to put out a feeder here... I should really try that some day!
You should! If you feed them, they will come... Here is a great, easy to clean feeder- HumZinger dot biz Click on HumZinger feeders. Recipe for home made nectar is 1 part sugar to 4 parts water.
I'm not really sure - I'm not that familiar with hummingbirds! I think they're Ruby Throated, but I really don't know... :) Sorry about the "comment approval" thing - I got about 20 spam messages in 5 minutes on one of my videos, so I switched comments to "approval needed" - unless you're in my Friends list, the comment has to be approved first.
Thanks! We have all kinds of other birds too - I actually taped this on vacation, but I have seen some hummingbirds around here too! I haven't seen one in a few years here though~
Hehe... I know - that's because I don't shoot a lot of hummingbird videos! :) I shot this on vacation, at the house where I got the raccoon vids before. I should really set a hummingbird feeder up here (I'm pretty sure we do have them), but I haven't gotten a chance to yet!
...Someone else? My name's right at the beginning... :)
I'm not sure - I think there are 2 seperate ones in this video. I'm going to upload a higher-quality version of this on my site in a little while - it should make it a little easier to tell...
I'm pretty sure we do, but these ones were taped on vacation... :) We should really get a hummingbird feeder! I've taken pictures of them around my area before, so I'm guessing that we have them!

I thought this video was by someone else at first! You don't put up a lot of hummingbird videos.
