Interesting how guys like John and Paul eventually split, though they thought alike. Both of them followed Jesus/hippie way of thinking, but approached the dilemma from different points - John was romantic, Paul more pragmatic. But they were both intelligent and sensitive men. You cant clearly tell who is "right" when you face such people. You can approach them having personal stance and label one as bad/hostile and the other one as good/friendly, but it wont give you answer. :)

Yeah, the guitar solo here is unfinished -- this is not the album version of the song, this is a run-through for the Let It Be movie they were filming. It was okay here, but George turned it into something magnificent for the finished product.

And if you play both solos together, it sounds really cool.

Actually, The Album version that was produced by Phil Spector and the Single that George Martin produced were from the same initial take and Harrison recorded 2 different solos in Jan 1970, one was used in the the single and the other on the LP. This version is a different take altogether from those two releases.

In fact, he is basically trying to irritate the other Beatles (Paul in particular) by having Yoko present at Beatle recording sessions. He knew the rules which usually had the band, George Martin, Mal & Neil ONLY when recording. Lennon was a supreme songwriter, but much more lacking as a human being.

Do you contend Lennon was NOT trying to agrivate the other Beatles? I believe Lennon himself admitted that he was trying to "get under their skin" and that in part motivated him to invite Ono to accompany him in the studio. Finally, Lennon AGAIN stated he was "lacking as a human being at times" and worked to improve himself. It was an ongoing effort for him.

The fact that Yoko Ono was always there also was a reason for the arguments between them. Lennon was the one that took the Beatles beyond a mere pop phenomenon. Still, John was capable of seeing his faults and honestly addressing them. Yet there are some that will attack anyone pointing out the same faults Lennon admitted to himself. That's a shame because it leads to a dishonest discussion of the real man.

Paul Mccartney was having a bad trip on "acid" when he saw his deceased mom whos name really is "mary" appear in front of him and told him not to worry but just "let it be" . This is the origin of this song and why he wrote it. Thus "when i find myself in times of trouble, mother mary comes to me, speaking words of wisdom "let it be"........

@kooldan1960 He wasn't tripping he had a dream in which he saw and spoke to his dead mother, what was important to him was the ability to connect with somebody important to him who was long dead during the tense times of 1968. I like the Richard Hewson arrangement better and the slightly ambient mix Spector gave it on the LP. This naked version is fine but a little dull really.
