@t0rq21 Its an adjusted limit, so he doesn't blow the engine therefore it cuts the ignition. And like awepon said, do you really think a 850+ hp engine running a t88 is going to be able to withstand the rev limiter for that long.

Yes GTR's are AWD but im guessing the dyno they were using is not capable of AWD thus setting the car to only RWD, Also you get a more precise HP reading on RWD/FWD, with AWD more power is lost as it needs to go through two sets of diffs into 4 wheels....

A limiter is a limiter. Whether its standard or aftermarket its the limit of what the engine can rev too and is still set at 9k+ by the sounds of it.

And the only reason he bounces of it is if you change up while wheelspinning you bog down. Gotta match engine speed with road speed first.

im explaining to you exackly what ph33x below this has said. its not bouncing off the factory limitor..... there is a device that cuts the ignition, hense not starving it of fuel like a traditional limitor. he is able to set at what prm it limits at. and yes, obviously limiting the ignition spark/ keeps adding fuel will cause it to backfire. mind you it looks rather cool also

Kings, it's not valve bouncing, it's an ignition cut rev limiter. Fuel keeping coming in, hence the irregular bangs, etc. A 2-Step is the same thing, but 2 different adjustable limits. Fitted to almost every drag skyline that's fitted with a turbo.

Fuel cuts in high performance cars are far more dangerous. Having a fuel cut causes more heat, you'll melt shit eventually.

ido09s hate to sound blunt, but before you start judging people's driving style you should duly note that gear boxes pop very easy when the relative engine speed is higher then road speed.. Gear set is worth a good 5k, the motor is worth easy 30k+ .. and im sure the tune (saw the graph, probably the most progressive smoothest curve I have ever seen) has factored in a limiter with ignition cut off. so the constant limitier bouncing and tire skylarking will not harm the motor as much as you think!
