Chris Barnes was a lot more fun to watch bowl in 99.

His roll out is because he wants to... and Its not a very easy thing to do... I love watching him play his roll out shot... No one else can do it like he can... The guy is the most versitle bowler of all time.

hmmm... I've been bowling competivly for about 12 years now and have never heard of someone wanting his ball to roll out. why should anybody want that to happen?

Well that doesn't mean that you know what your talking about just because you haven't heard of it...

when I was watching extra frames the other day and Tim Mack was commentating and chris barnes was using his rollout shooting 240+ every game... Tim Mack said "When Barnes is able to get his ball to roll out like that, NO ONE else has a chance of beating him" So I think Tim Mack knows a little more then you.

I did not want to offend you in any way I just wanted to know why you think having balls roll out is good.

Second thing is, I do know what I'm talking about and there is no reason to offend me.

Third: Citations are great but explainations are better. So pls tell me why intentionally losing energy is a good choice in bowling.

Ok. You won't see his him purposly roll his ball out on the shark pattern or any longer pattern because it will lose hooking power... But on the Cheetah which is the shortest pattern they bowl on and the guys that score the highest always play farther outside... Parker Bohn,walter ray, norm duke... Barnes has a 400+ rev rate so he gets his ball to roll out so he can play farther right then he would if he didn't and his ball still hits hard because it rolls out flush in the 1-3

I understand what you want to say. But roll out means early hooking motion and not less hook. I can't agree to your and mack's opinion but however, everyone as a different view of quality shots. Maybe you are right.

it is also called hook/stop, which means it straightens out on the backend and rolls straight, instead of a continuous hook which would come up too high. Barnes is a master at it
