  • This guy is such a Pussy. I went to fort knox and had to march up both of those hills and they weren't bad at all.

  • I was C 2/81 in 2001 "BEST DAMN UNDER THE SUN' still remember that

  • I had went through basic at Ft. Knox in 2002. It was too hard even for me. But we all went through it. Even after with the wars going on and the hardship I faced with family, my life will never been the same. Alpha 1/46 2nd Platoon Dragons.

  • Sorry for your loss. I was C 2/81 in 2004. We never forget our brothers!

  • 2001 ...19k ......agony, misery,heartbreak

  • I too had basic and AIT at ft Knox in '83 . I remember marching up and down Agony and Misery hills in the winter and spring of that year. I became a systems mechanic on the howitzer 109 there. The bivouacs were some miserable cold camping! Our feet felt about 5 lbs. each heavier from all that wet red clay that the track vehicles dragged onto the roads. I am now a proud member of American Legion Post 165 in Two Rivers, WI.

I am sincerely sorry for the loss of PVT. Cooper.

Very, very Sorry for you all..............JC!!!!!!!

  • That has to be one of those cardboard, demo TV's you see at appliance store's rite???? Agony and Misery hasn't been wore down to little bump's yet????????

  • im sry to hear thet.... but i have been over two times...war is worse then basic.. but the military is not for everyone.... his family will be in my prayers

  • Prayer for you ,Jason! My son is Fort Knox grad 210 march 12th

  • I am so sorry to hear that about your son!!! My husband is currently at BCT at Fort Knox and he graduates June 3rd 2010. I miss him terribly. I pray he won't be deployed right after training. RIP Jason. God bless your family for your service!!!

  • I'm sorry but there are people meant to do this type of thing. Seeing this video shows me enough evidence he wasn't meant to do this. I went to Fort Knox for 16 weeks to become a tanker and many guys I graduated with I deployed with. Thank you for serving, but you should've considered something else.

  • I was there 27 July 89 at Delta 13-4. The scent of morning dew, beautiful trees at dawn, melting tar on the parking lots at high noon. and the refreshing Kentucky Breeze blowing on my face at"Agony" and up "Misery" for a drink at "drag ass hill" make me smile and tear up. I LOVED IT SOOO. ALLMYHEARTSWARMTHGOES OUT TO MRSCOOPERANDFAMILY!!!! YOUR BELOVED SON, IS A HERO AND CHAMPION FOR ALL ETERNITY. RISE UP IN ANDKNOW YOUR SONS HEART IS GOOD AND of HONOR. I SALUTE YOU JASON COOPER!!

  • i went to ft knox 1990 there was no hooah. just a lot of "drop m/f'r". I miss it. Love the DI cadences. I'm 42 and back thanks to knox di's i stil remember alot.

  • I'd also like to express my condolences to the family of PVT Jason Cooper. He must have been a great guy. I never had the pleasure of knowing him myself, but I am truly sorry his story ended like it did.

  • Thanks for putting this up. It brought back a lot of memories. So much of what he talked about I experienced myself. Fort Knox is a brutal place to go to BCT, it keeps you alive when you get to the combat zone. It sucks, all of it does, but you are truly living out there. For a lot of those guys, it was the first time they did something worthwhile in their life.

  • im so very sorry for your loss, he will always be known as a hero. so sad, so sorry .

  • I pounded some of the same ground as Jason at Ft Knox as a Cav Scout back in 94 -97and went on to train other scouts there for three years. To the loved ones of Jason, I'm sorry for your loss. I hope to shake his hand at Fiddlers Green someday. SCOUTS OUT !

  • B Co 1/46 Inf Graduated '02

From Knox. Hearing this brings back alot of great memories. Thank You for sharing.Sorry for your family's great loss.

  • Thanks for serving our country, i will be heading to Ft Knox on January 25th. Btw i noticed something about the videos of FT Knox on You Tube, there arent that many videos of BCT in Ft Knox :(

  • I was in Ft Knox 2006 the reason for so few videos, is because this is a BCT Location where no Cellphones Cameras or anything not essential is allowed to be kept by recruits until family day/graduation...... Im currently in D.E.P. (Delayed Entry Program) to re-enlist, Im going back to the Army in October... but I will be posting videos from Ft Gordon, an A.I.T. (Advanced Individual Training location) where electronics are allowed in A.I.T. --- R.I.P. Jason Cooper

  • Thank you Jason for serving your country. I will remember you and the rest of my brothers and sisters in the service, and honor you by doing my best every day.

And I want to thank you for raising this man to become a soldier and make the ultimate sacrifice for our nation's freedom; serving in the Armed Services.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. You are in my prayers.

    Derek

  • It's hard to believe that this nice and funny young man thought he would take his own life. His impact on the world will be missed dearly. God bless you and his soul.

  • i went to basic at fort knox, and i did everything he talked about.. i am sorry for your loss of your son, im deployed in afghanistan right now... you will be in my prayers, i will remember you son and always visit the web site for him..

  • So sorry for the loss of this young man.

My son is leaving for knox in November.

He's excited and Idon't want to ruin this because of my concern with his well being. Why so many suicides? Is there anyone who can answer or comment on what the statistics are on this? He's in good shape, took boxing couple yrs. I know physically he's capable, and mentally strong, but what breaks these young men?My son is 19.He wants to do this.Already signed and taken test. Cavalry Scout.Any of you out there?thanks

  • did the same tour you did and will do. fort knox basic training aug.4, 1971 and then on the fort lee, virginia 76y20 quartermaster school. 3 different types of soldiers. national guard, ng regular army ra and drafted guys u.s. the guys who wanted to go to nam went to germany instead, the guys who wanted to go germany were sent to nam and the national guard wasn't activated and went home. all soldiers were great.

  • my boyfriend just left for basic there at fort knox a couple days ago and this just gives me a better idea of what is coming for him and i know its only basic but im terrified that IF he gets deployed after he does and sent into war he will have ptsd... =(

i am so VERY sorry for you loss he seems like an incredible person

  • great video. my boyfriend is in basic training right now. just finished red phase and already did the 15k march. seeing this gives me a better idea of what he's going through.

i started to cry when jason said he thought about you all everyday. losing a soldier in any way is horrible. but they do such honorable things. im so sorry for your loss.

  • I am very sorry to hear of his death. He seems like such a great guy...

  • I to attended BCT at the school of hard knox. 19D. I am sorry for your loss. My AG, Best friend, and battle buddy from BCT also took his life. But always remember that only those who have died have truly seen the end of war. Know that he is in a better place and will be waiting for you SCOUTS OUT!

  • oh man i didnt know he past... rip jason!

  • R.I.P. Jason

great vid. im preparin to over come misery and agony cuz i will be at knox in a few days.

  • Awhhh my fiance was at FT Knox and he called me the day he did the 9 mile road march thing!! I love your expression about skittles! it made me smile!!

  • Jason!

It's because of brave men like you we live the life we do today!

    Thank You!

  • Sorry for your loss. The Army is a piece of shit. They don't give a fuck to help the soldiers with PTSD. I know because I was a 19k at Fort Hood with two deployments before I got out. I am a Marine now and there are no better men to serve with.

  • thaks buddy for this video. I was with c-4-1 in 1985-86 and it made me a better man. Because I was a trouble maker most of my youth. ///i found out there what a good athlete I was. I was first in all the battalion in the two mile run 10.15 and I ran all over everybody in the obstacle course. And I beat out Scott Blazek who was a class act , And ended starting at the university of Nebraska at defensive back. And just think that I was 21 and had been smoking since I was 15..

  • I am deeply saddened by your loss. As a fewllow Ft. Knox trainee, and service man of 6 years, I also have PTSD. It is one of the hardest disabilities to deal with. I have been going to counsling for over a year now. But with support from every angle, it is better. As far as life at Ft. Knox... Some of teh best times I ever had. Agony and Misery are NOT your friends, but a true inspiration once ya get over them...

R.I.P soldier... you will NOT be forgoten

  • If anyone is thinking of joining the Army and is watching this video. . . this Guy is not lieing. I did my Training at Ft. Knox, and it gets nice a cold there, and everything he said brought back lots of memories.

    Sorry for your loss.

  • My condolences...

  • I trained at Knox. My condolences. I marched and ran those 3 hills also--agony, misery, heartbreak.

  • Thanks for posting it!

  • what a BRAVE kid, R.I.P

  • Life in the military were harsh sometimes but it depends in which countries military. There are no happy stories in iraq, somethings must have happened there which affected him so much and he suffered a depression. May he rest in peace.

  • Very sorry for your loss. I hope people understand this case of PTSD is not some isolated incident. Eisenhower warned us about the military industrial complex and our nation refused to listen, and now we have to watch another generation destroyed by pointless wars for profit. Maybe it's too late for us to wake up, but I sure hope not.

  • lol u cant talk to none of the women lol

  • I hope it dont suck as bad as he says.I leave for basic on april 10th 08 to fort knox. And I hope there is some woomen there too.

  • Oh yeah and the dreaded half right face.....damn

  • agony and misery suck ass

  • fort knox 1/46 assassins!!! hated agony and misery! sorry for ur son

  • Your son is a true American hero! He will never, ever be forgotten, I promise you that. He will always be alive in the hearts of all of us who support our military.

My husband is a Cav Scout in Iraq right now, so this is a true fear for me as well. I feel your pain and will keep you always in my prayers.

Thank you for posting this, it's tragic but it's something that has happened to a lot of soldiers, unfortunately. Your son was a hero, always remember that.

  • Oi, I miss Jason he was a very nice amigo, blessings to his family he is truly missed!!~!

  • It's right to pay our respects to our fallen brother, no matter how the end came to be.

Drive on, soldier. Hold the fort 'til we get there.

    Hooah!

  • What a wonderful guy and a great video

  • Thats a shame, he seemed like a nice guy.

  • Misery from the bottom you can almost lean against it with your hands....I did Basic at Fort Knox in 1999... Not fun.. but makes a man outta you...My condolences to the family of this fallen soldier...

  • Thank you for your condolences. Jas would tell me that if you graduated from Ft. Knox then you were held in high regard by other soldiers. Much respect to you!

  • Thank you very much....

  • @batavias me to in 1999 graduated sept 10, 1999

  • I went to basic & AIT in Ft Benning. 11B infantry and finished it at the age of young 29. 2yrs later I went to Iraq, 18 months, earn CIB and got back. PTSD is real. Flashbacks ,headaches and road rage are real, too. More or less depends on the age, I guess.

  • Just want to say thank you to the family for posting this. Im enlisted and in D.E.P, leavin for BT in august of this year. Soldiers like this are the reason that we join, to become like a brother to these soldiers is an honor i cant wait to experience. RIP Cooper, and may we make you proud from above with the effort in the middle east. The price you paid will not be forgotten.

  • I am so sorry to hear about this loss. He seemed like a very good fucking man and a damn good soldier. RIP SOLDIER. I'm going into bootcamp too actually. I'll do ya proud homie

  • Sir, Thank you for serving our country. I will do the same very soon. Rest in peace. Sir.

  • FTX is only 3 days now? wow back when I was in it was 8 days with a 22 mile march. lol and it rained the whole friggn time. I hate Ft. Benning. lol Anyways, nice video to remember this guy. Poor kid...

  • They talked about this great man on CNN today.

  • R.I.P. Thank you for all that you did for this country!!!! I respect you for what you wnet through and for what you do for your nation.

  • Anguish is defined in the mind of the one who lives it. What is to one isn't to the other. We have no right to judge this man until we can see through his eyes. Hoooaah

  • showing your military ID with your Social Security Number to the world isn't exactly smart.

  • My bad, didn't read the caption. RIP!

  • He's not showing his military ID with social security number to the world... "pinkygirl38" is. 8-\
