This is why I love Amuro. During his time in MSG, he witnessed TWO of his allies pull off similar rams at the cost of their lives, Ryu Jose and Sleggar Law. And yet, when Amuro tries the same, he actually survives, AND ends up kicking even more ass in the Rick Dias right after.

...I must say, the animation made for this movie... outclasses even that of Unicorn and 08th Ms Team. Even to this day.

It's almost Disney-tier.

@Daisagru No, I honestly believe Unicorn is better, or they're on par. My one quarrel with the Zeta movies is that they didn't give Tomino the budget to just completely reanimate, so they had to cobble together old footage from the series. If they had it would've been so much better. Conversely Unicorn has that budget, and no 80s-era animation to recycle from.

Hopefully the Gundam: The Origin Anime Project will look as good as the new animation here, or the animation on Unicorn.

The first time I saw the Zeta series I thought the ashmire (hopeI got the name right) was a DOM that transforms.

@phoniexExia Bandai licensed them, so you can buy the DVDs, individually or in a complete set. Also, if what I'm reading here is true, then it's available for rental on the PSN, though I'm not 100% about that.

I don't remember this happening on the original Z-Gundam, but this just scene just made Amuro to the next level of "kick-butt"-ness

Whoah, I had no idea this existed... Here I was watching the original Zeta going "man I'd love to see this remade"... And here we are - a redone version (and in 3 movies to make things brief, awesome :P)

@shippou55 that can't be done. If you re-watch the first Gundam series, the RX-78-2 was disabled beyond repair on the battle against Char on A Baoa Qu

@hhamor yep, that's also one good reason. Since RX-78 was one of the very first MS built by the Feds (the GM was entirely based on it). Next Generation MS would be more than a match for the Gundam

@shippou55 They should've just given him a Mark II. I mean, they stole three, they could've easily rebuilt one of the ones they scrapped for analysis. But then that might've taken some of the attention off Kamille and put it back on Amuro, and this isn't SEED Destiny.

Actually, the Rick Dias has better performance than the the original Gundam, and is technically better armored. Gundarium gamma is basically the replacement for the original composite the Gundam was made of.
