  • I want to see this musical so badly!! Does anyone know if they're still showing it in NYC?

  • Trent <3

  • how did they decide which one would dance at the tony's?

  • Raw perfection. I've got goosebumbs!

  • greatest dance EVER!

  • it reminds me of the greatest freakout ever.

  • WOW! now THATS chucking a skitz

  • That kid can dance!

  • he's amazing and fortunately I know someone who knows his parents :). Also, he's so hot. :)

  • @LadySinster13 yes, that is very fortunate.

  • WTF WAS THAT???????????

  • am I the only one who found that kinda hot.. ?

  • My gosh that was amazing. But it must have been exhausting.

  • @elisabetrouge good thing it's right before intermission! I can't even imagine doing that!!

  • holy fucking shit of musical gods. that is amazing. gave me chills!

no wonder West side story lost to this musical.

    well done, kiddo!

  • I remember by the time I was done watching that number in the theatre, I turned to my mom and said, "That is the most beautiful temper tantrum I have ever seen". It's the only time I've ever WANTED to see a kid throw a fit again.

  • I found it a very strong performance. I remember in the theatre getting goosebumps! I guess whoever said it's "just shouting and dancing" haven't seen the show. It represents a lot of the feelings of the show. I think it's amazing!

  • this has got to be one of the most powerful performances done in awhile at the tonys

  • i go to school with him! now hes a normal kid

  • now that's a temper tantrum

  • Trent is sooo nice I love him

  • Yeah...awesome kid, awesome dancing, but I kinda have to admit I wish they'd done electricity. :S

  • that was it? him just dancing around screaming? not like they could have performed Electricity...

  • I saw him on Broadway in...2010 - it was his last couple weeks with Billy Elliot. He dances like an absolute professional - I got to meet him at the stage door and he signed a poster for me:] Very gracious kid:]

I believe Carol Kane played the grandmother in that performance too (she was the original Madame Morrible in Wicked, and was in Princess Bride:P)

  • @rosebloodfaerie You're thinking of Carole Shelly. Carol Kane did play Morrible at one point, however, which is probably where your confusion is coming from.

  • @ActingDude17 Ahhh, you know you're probably right haha

  • I saw Trent Kowalik in his last week in Billy Elliiot - he was absolutely phenomenal !

  • @rosebloodfaerie Where did you see him at??

  • This gave me hardcore embarrassment goosebumps. So stupid.

  • omg i love trent he is so cute

  • he’s adorable

  • did anyone else laugh throughout this

  • @rubysapphire14

    No? just you.!!

  • @rubysapphire14 nope. just you.

  • he practiacally rapes everything imaginable on stage... while dancing

  • Billy Elliot is an ok musical, completely overated. Unfortunately, Elton John isnt very good at writing musical scorees and this is a rather poor score. This number is one of the few moments in this musical that actually intrigued me and the tony performance does not do this scene well. In person, its a riviting performance. The wrong musical got the top prize. Next to Normal is a better musical on many different levels. Billy is just overated and forgettable.

  • Wow!!!

  • I saw the show last sunday on Broadway and it was amazing! I had Joseph Harrington as Billy and he was very very good!

  • This scene is really powerful. I saw the show yesterday, it was amazing! One of the best musicals I've seen.

Although it feels like when I saw it, the music in this scene had angrier guitar.

  • AH

  • @yoututopia Yes. You have to sing to be able to be in the show Billy Elliot. This is just one number that doesn't have singing in it. The musical has so many other numbers that actually have singing.

  • TheAlpacaChannel: Family Entertainment? Really? Although the title character is a child, this show isn't really appropriate for children.

  • Saw it on West End, and I cried during the actual scene. Ryan Collinson played and he was freaking amazing. This musical won because it's freaking great, not just because it's well known.

  • Trent is sooo amazing!!!

  • this is good but i would of preferred next to normal to win.....this one because its alot more well known.....in my opinion.

  • that is what you call talent!!!

  • There are no word to describe how powerful this scean is live. And I saw the 2nd national tour. I would love to see it on Broadway though.

  • that is one heck of a tantrum

  • NICE moves! Made me laugh...thanks :)

  • he put so much soul and heart into that dance <3

  • saw this in London last summer.

    best musical i've ever seen.

  • Best musical ever!

  • watching this 10 feet away from the speakers is amazing

  • Trent Kowalik must have been exhausted after that performance, so much energy!

  • Next to Normal is a drama. Billy Elliot is much more of a family feel good showy kind of musical. Next to Normal and Billy Elliot are just different, there is no way to compare them.

  • @TheAlpacaChannel Erm, have you seen Billy Elliot? It is far from "family" entertainment.

  • the show one is def way better!!

  • Loved it live!!

  • This is one of the most cathartic things I've ever seen. This musical is brilliant!

  • @cantbackdown123 he probably is just a child, the average Billy Elliot is aged between 11-13 :)

  • @xraindropgirlx Yes! While I was rooting for N2N, I loved Billy Elliot and have no objection to its win. BE may seem like a formulac story of a boy's dream but the mass-scale conflict is the strike and the internal conflict is Billy's dreams. In the end, the miners refuse to be the force to steal Billy's rights heed Billy's efforts. The scene where you realize the clash of internal and external conflicts is compelling.

  • Shut up about Next To Normal. It's brilliant, but this is brilliant too in its own right.

  • didnt like the screaming. reminded me of a young zelda slashing

  • @xoff999 thats what makes the dance...hes anger and frustration...i was in the cast for a short period of time bc my cousin knew trent and this and electricity was always the showstoppers bc of its energy and how well ALL the boys performed it and this was trent's best time ever doing it

  • This performance for the Tonys was actually different from the show. This performance is astonishing, but the performance in the show will blow your mind! See Billy Elliot!

  • How old is he on the commercial he looked like a kid

  • I saw this over a year ago, and I was sitting in the very last row of the Imperial Theatre all the way to the stage left side. And I still remember every single second of it. It was the most magical piece of theatre I've ever seen in my life.

  • My question is...how can they bang on those riot shields like that 8 times a week, and NOT break them? There were sizeable marks already on them.

  • its sad that 13 people dislike this video

  • My little sis is goin to this........... I envy her

  • simply amazing. i love him <3

  • omg thats so cool...peter mazurowski<333

  • I believe N2N deserved Best Musical for its original and smarter tackle. But, we should not comment here why we are mad at BE for winning. I seen this show last night. It may seem like a formulac story of a boy's dream but the mass-scale conflict is the strike and the internal conflict is Billy's dreams. In the end, the miners refuse to be the force to steal Billy's rights heed Billy's efforts. The scene where you realize the clash of internal and external conflicts is compelling.

  • i love this soo much...:) <3

  • And THAT'S why Next To Normal didn't win.

  • this is so intense and emotional. trent is amazing and he did this dance wonderfully! i think the noises he made were just fine and the 3 billys ABSOLUTELY deserved their tonys. they trained forever to learn the part and they are brilliant. i'd like to see anyone else attempt at this, because i'm quite sure that it's much harder than it looks. GO BILLY!!

  • that kid is amazing!!!!!

  • @MusicalTheaterislife u missed seeing the amazing trent, but the other billy's are amazing, too! have fun i know you'll love it i saw it twice and trying to see it again!

  • i just saw this 3 days ago billy elliot is so awesomazing<333peter mazurowski is the best billy ever

  • @PeaceErin1283 he just graduated from my school :) I didnt see him in it but my friend said he was good

  • I just saw this today live and Oh my gosh :) It was amazing. The angry dance was my favorite!

  • He's good, but no one beats the original in the West End: Liam Mower! :)

  • @Dimmock1994

It's interesting that so many consider their first Billy the best, and in Liam's case, he's often considered the definitive Billy. Unfortunately, I never saw Liam. Trent does a great Angry Dance but it's unimaginable to me that anyone can possibly do that routine better than Cesar Corrales, now in Toronto. His Angry Dance is beyond stunning.

  • @silentsurfer2004 and Cesar is ending his run as billy on May 1st. Im fortunate that I get to be there for his final show.

  • I love Angry Dance because you can really feel the pain, the conflicted feelings in Billy Elliot. I know many actors have played this role, but I think they're all good, because you can't just take any tap dancer off the street unless they've got TALENT. Not talent, or Talent, but so much it's TALENT. Angry dance=beautiful, difficult, and sad('cause he's angry)

  • Corey Snide is still my all time favourite Billy. But Trent is awesome as well.

  • this scene live is just just ...... i cant even say any words how amazing this is

  • I don't know why this dance makes me fall in love with billy... but i does!

  • Wow. To remember all the tap, dance, where to go onstage in under 5 mins is amazing. I would've been passed out dancing like that in under 2 mis lol xD

  • -3 Trent. :) hes awesome. End of story.

  • whoa....trent really shone in this performance!!!! :D

  • The one with Joseph Harrington on Broadway is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

  • Is there any way to get an instrumental of this song?

  • @LydiaAndFriends it is on the soundtrack it is called angry dance

  • Hey that sign says my name!!!

  • Kid can dance, but his whiny moans are annoying. I respect his ability (and the ability of the other two kids who originated the role) but they did not deserve that Tony. Especially not over J. Robert Spencer!

  • @bluecannonhawk That's agony. Not whining. Th =e full on anger ang despair the boys portray durring this number is nearly unbearable. This clip is amazing, but it doesn't compaire to the deep character with levels that is so apparent and real when you see it live. If you haven't seen this live you cannot possibly imagine the high level acting geniuses these kids are aside from being prodigetical dancers for which they are thought as.

  • @bluecannonhawk i could not agree with you more!

  • That dance is justsooooo amazing! It's insane how much stamina these young kids have! It's so physical and incredible

  • I've seen the movie, I really wish that when i was in london i would have seen the musical

  • Next To Normal should of won best musical.

  • @MarineForceAlpha Nope, the best on won, GO BILLY ELLIOT!

  • @gotogta and the most flashy could it have been more beautifully directed ?

  • @MarineForceAlpha WRONG!

  • @MarineForceAlpha No way. Billy Elliot was and is still leaps and bounds above all the rest.

  • @MarineForceAlpha Should have, but yes. Yes indeed.

  • @MarineForceAlpha both so good. they should have both won

  • I'm crying! This is amazing! I can't wait until I see B E in December!

  • whoever did the camera work in this did a horrible job. Great performance though.

  • i absoloutely adore tent in this performance, its so emotional and he really captures the emotion and portrays it well. i love this, but trent makes it even better!<3<3

  • trent went to my dance school "Inishfree" its irish dancing and he thanked my dance teacher Sean Reaghan in his speech! =p we are so proud!!

  • ugh god, he is so fantastic!

We need more kids in the industry like him<3

  • Such a great performance. Simply spectacular. Bravo!

  • One of the beest dancces i've ever seen

  • OMG this show is frickin aweseome!

  • Congratulations, Trent, on an exceptional and moving performance. You, Kiril, and David all deserved that Tony you won.

  • Congratulations, Trent, on an exceptional and moving performance. You, Kiril, and David all deserved that Tony you won.

  • Congrats, Trent, on an exceptional and moving performance. You, David, and Kiril all earned that Tony.

  • that poor child. he's so young and understands the pain so well.

  • Holy Cow. That kid's got some serious skill.

  • Billy: Mom whould have let us...

Elton John: Your moms dead Billy...

    Me:HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA

  • god that must be draining-- and that is just ONE number in the show.....good thing he's young.....boundless energy!

  • I love theatre but i don't think i'll ever be good enough. i can't believe how amazing these kids are!

  • OMG That was AMAZING had me in tears!!

  • look at all the spike tape on the stage! ah! those were the days.

  • the best Broadway Billy Angry Dances: Trent and Michael Dameski. definitely.

  • love<3

  • Incredible.

  • wow . that was deep

  • damn i wished i could tap dance as well as Trent.

  • He must have been totally exhausted after this performance. Kewl. Wish they had shows like that here.

  • this video took absolutely forever to load

  • Anyone know how they decided which Billy would do the Tony Awards? Trent did a great job!

  • @CourtneyEWashington

It's because Trents been doing the show the longest...before he came to NY he did a run of it in the West End

  • This was A BAJILLION times better when it was during the show because he was climbing up stairs the entire set was moving. It was BEYOND INCREDIBLE

  • @toughcookie5454 I know! it was so cool!

  • trent is amazing. and i got to meet this guy in person. best moment of my life!

  • Lets Go Trent...Represent Long Island :)

  • i have never seen somethink like that so perfect

  • <3<3<3 TRENT!! :D he's soo fricken AWESOME!!!

  • Dude. So talented. Oh lord...

  • TRENT KOWALIK <3 hes amazing...

  • this kid is AMAZING! I wish I could tap dance like that!

  • plz explain what this part is about

  • u shoudl see the british version of this in the west end its amazing!!! i did billy elliot with my drama!!

  • @nikaxx1 I've seen videos of the British version. They don't do the stuff with the doors, right? Don't the cops just walk on in two lines swinging clubs and then go to forming the wall of shields? I like both, but I prefer this one, which started in the Australian production, I believe.

  • what a wounderful way to get your anger out =)

  • lol AGRO BILLY!!

  • oh my god it's amazing how talented that kid is

  • 빌리야.. 얼른 만나자꾸나.. 내가 너무 좋아라하는 Angry Dance.. 내가 느끼는 답답함을 저 작은 소년도 느끼는 거 같아 동질감과 애처로움이 느껴진다...

  • i saw this, best broadway show ive ever seen!

  • I think the sweat pants and pink shirt look funny haha. But i absolutely love this number! that kid is soooooo talented! :)

  • @guitargirl369 The shirt is with with red stripes to match the red Adidas pants. He's wearing them because in the scene before he was supposed to go to an audition.

  • Only a kid's energy can perform that number :-P

  • Sir is a knighthood preformed by countries in the commonwealth I am not sure why the USA has to use it because it is what the Queen gives her subjects and the USA is not a subject of Britain.

  • @Dippythedogable. It's still his rank and name. Like how Americans still refer to the queen as Her Majesty, even though she isn't their queen. Or how I would still call someone in the American miliatary by their rank, even though I'm not American.

  • has anyone seen both the Broadway and West End version? .... coz in the West End, they do it differently, like,,, a cubical thing comes up from the stage and Billy dances in it, but in this vid, the ensembly make that big billboard thing. i think it works both ways personally. Maybe its because they dont normally use that stage so they had to use different things?.

  • @gooeylooey14 They do the cubical thing in both shows. They just didn't have it for this performance.

  • @msryankey oh okay. Thanks :) xx

  • @msryankey Ah right, thank youu :) xxx

  • @gooeylooey14 In the Broadway show, they have both the shack (cubical) come up, Billy and they still do the bit with swinging him around on the doors, making the billboard. They didn't use the cubical for this because it was filmed at Radio City Music Hall, not the Imperial Theatre, where BETM Broadway is performed.

  • When we saw Billy Elliot we saw a kid named Jacob Clemente who was Billy Elliot hes new to it but he is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO amazing!!!!

  • michael dameski should have done this

    he is so much better

  • @loveyazxoxo23 I think they are both great.

  • @msryankey they both r but he is like beyond amazingg

  • @loveyazxoxo23 1) Michael Dameski was not yet part of the Broadway cast when this was done. 2) I've seen both Trent and Michael do this live. They were both very good and very passionate, but Trent's tapping is better.

  • lmao why dose he keep screaming? whats this play about>

  • @swirlygirly1234 do you not see the title of the song?

  • @jaygaarder uh no i dont, god dont be mean about it i thought it was some british play and im americaan so stfu
