the 996 just has around 120hp and the desmo has 200+ you can tell who would have won if it was a race before the video if it was a race though. the 996 is an old bike to now
916/996/998 most balanced bike of all. If its been worked on as a track bike it is almost impossible to beat it even with a D16. The big four had to take a back seat to the 916-98 in both sbk and bsk for an entire decade. It embarrassed everything it raced... the GOAT period!

amazing..! i cant believe how can a ducati 996 r bean more fast than the desmosedici rr.. very impressive stuff! i know by other video that the 1098s is more fast than the desmosedici rr but the 996 its great
@Vilas30 It actually all boils down to the riders... Had they switched places, the 996 rider on the RR would have been even farther ahead than the RR rider on the 996.
I cannot believe nobody has commented on this. The 996R had the RR for a snack. However, the Desmosedici has more to loose in a spill than the 996R. I have a 996S and keep up with the 1098 guys all day long. Like the saying goes... its more fun to ride a slow bike fast tan to ride a fast bike slow.
@joshnietzsche or maybe you're just a good rider.... hahaha... you can have the desmo RR that has 200hp at the wheel... however if you can't handle it then it's a different story it all intels on the rider. ;)

the guy on the desmo don't even want to pass the guy on the 996.
You can clearly see it. he roll off the throtle early at the end of the straight.
He could have I'm on the break at the end of the straight easily if he was more agressive.
