Great job man. I'm gonna try smth like this on my strat. What kind of paints do u use? Is it something special so it doesn't go under the water and stays on the surface? Or can it be done with every kind of paint.? And how thin is the swirl paint after it's dried out? Thanx.
I would like to do the opposite of this (black with green swirls) if i make my guitar mat black then do it the exact way show here do you think the green will stand out right?
I have a question. I was doing some practice tries today and I seen on your website that if the paint goes to the outside theres too much borax so I added more water and then the black. It spread like yours but when I added the yellow it made ALL of the paint like go away....Im confused.
I have a black ibanez and i want to swirl paint it red and black, do i have to take off the original black colour from the guitar so i could swirl paint it black and red?
hello if my guitar this old that I have to strip paint?? and sanding? and if you have to do what I told you that painting and then paint it and what the eddies will please answer
ola amigo eu posso usar o borax anidro para rodar a guitarra???? pois no brasil nao há como encontrar esse tipo de borax usado em atividades domesticas, so consegui comprar borax anidro . obrigado
@hecto95 I painted a jem body only in pink and white, great portions of pinkk without touching the paint once you put in to water, i think its possible.
Very Nice!!! I want to do this with my guitar! My Question: Is it possible to swirl with Metallic-colors? And are the colors of revell the same like Humbrol?
I'm gonna buy a cheap guitar from my brothers friend soon, might give this a try, and while I'm at it might as well put some new hardware and strings on
did you do anything to give it a smooth, mirror-like shine after it dried? Cause I've heard of using very fine wet sand paper but i was just curious as to what you did cause I'm considering refinishing a guitar. And great video by the way.
@catspajamas01 You have to finish it with a coat of clear acrylic laquer. Often about ten coats, sanding a little with fine sandpaper between each coat. It's the only way to get a pro finish!
ok, this is a question worth answering lol. when you repaint it with a color do you let it dry first or do you just put it in the water when your done sprayin it?
hey tony, i have a question. I am thinking of doing a camo style for my guitar. I think ima use the colors black, brown, green, and gray. I want to know how can i make it more splotchy instead of swirly. thanks

Testors paint works as well, i bought it @ Michael's, and i used a Laundry Booster that they sell at Winn-Dixie< pretty sure Publix has it too. i did a slide show video on how i did it on my guitar, the swirls didn't come out perfect, but i liked the end result
Awesome painting technique, I've never actually seen this before and I've painted for 10+ years and i have to say this is an amazing way to paint. Great job. Cheers.
@felixbarrell12345 The bumpy, bubbly stuff may be caused by not using enough sealer before priming your guitar ( assuming you took it back to bare wood first ). The sealer protects the wood from contaminants and moisture absorbtion and is a very important part of the process to painting any type of wood.
wow, fantastic stuff man, im guna have to get some black, spray my guitar body white and then put this effect all on it in black, wooo, kinda bored of the original look of my strat. thanks for the cool vid
Not that Im aware of, as long as you dont try and pass it off as an original Ibanez etc... This is just a way of painting which has been around for thousands of years (look up marbling).
