Isn't that class 57 of the "Thunderbird" rescue locomotives? Do you know which character the loco was named for?

Yes it is a "Thunderbird" loco. It is named "Brains".

A class 90 (electric) was taken off the front of the train and replaced with a class 57 (diesel). On the rear of the train was a DVT (Driving Van Tailer), which is not a loco, but a coach, with a driving cab, where the driver can drive the train from. The power being provided from the loco at the other end.
