Yep, I was there too!! Defo one of the best days/concerts of my life!! One I can still talk about and people are jealous of!! Marley is/was a legend!! x x Great day
Bob lived just across the road from Dino's Restaurant in Gloucester Rd where i worked and used to see him going to the park to play soccer. Went to his concer at Crystal palace, still have ticket and photos.....happy days! (my son is 22 now and he's so jelous i got to see Bob!!)
i grew up on the housing estate across the road from the park, me n a mate were sitting on the boundary bars opposite the "artistes entrance" when mr marley entered the park, he waved to me n my mate ... wasn't allowed to go to the gig, but was luck the wind was blowing in the right direction - so i heard it all!!!
IMO this tiny magical clip captures for posterity all the majesty and intensity of Bob Marley & The Wailers in a live performance, from the driving bass; the crisp drumming; artistic use of guitars, keyboards and percussion; and of course a spirited, innovative & inspired Bob Marley RIP :))
Was also there..... great day indeed. Bought, kept and will always treasure the programme for the concert. As well as Bob, the other artists on the bill were also faves of mine at the time:- Joe Jackson, Average White Band and QTips featuring Paul Young. Oh happy days !!!!
Hi Jennie: Look about a third of the way down the page on the right-hand side and you will see a great panoramic photo of the stage with the pond in front full of many people. Best.

Hi - Yes I was there with a friend and can remember it was a really hot day and filled with smoke! I remember the crowd making a joint that reached right across the crowd! Bob was really in the distance but the whole mood was FANTASTIC. What a great memory - wish I remembered more about it....LOL...could I have been too stoned :) Good days.
I was there & remember it well. I still have my ticket. Bob was great. I remember his warm up acts The Q-tips,Joe Jackson and The Average White Band. I still have the uprising promo mag that I bought on the day. I remember having too many tickets as a mate didn't turn up, I had to sell it at the gate,Doh! It was a scorching day Bob was on top forme the place was rammed, One of the Q-tips let threw his trumpet in the lake infront of the stage & loads dived in to try & get it, what a memory
thank you mister yakkas for sharing your memories with us. i ve been visiting uk and went to this crystal palace to catch the vibration of the place. nice. again thanks for sharing. andrew/musician;reggae/brazil
@stonecatcher - don't remember the exact track list but he covered most songs you wanna hear from his career. Redemption Song was new at the time and I'd never heard it before, a great way to end the show and his last concert in the UK. RIP
I was at this gig too, would love to hear more. Was it filmed, anyone know? Love to hear Redemption Song which he did as an encore, everyone thought it had finished and started to leave we all went rushing back when he came on again. Awesome.
Great clip!! But where's the rest of the song? Looking forward to a lot more from this concert. I remember it well because I was there, swimming in the pond in front of the stage and all :). BTW I remember clearly that Sun Is Shining was only played across the sound system as a crowd warm-up prior to Bob coming on stage, i.e. it was the studio version only.
look what cheekyhamsta wrote before: "I remember clearly that Sun Is Shining was only played across the sound system as a crowd warm-up prior to Bob coming on stage, i.e. it was the studio version only."
Hi: The songs I definitely recall him singing were Natural Mystic, Positive Vibration, No Woman No Cry, Natty Dread, I Shot The Sheriff, Get Up Stand Up, Jamming, Exodus, Lively Up Yourself. I also remember he sang a number of other songs that were unfamiliar to me or the audience at the time which were probably from the Uprising album which was released shortly after. I don't believe he sang Could You Be Loved as I was already aware of the song and would have recognised it at the time. Best
Thank you. Yes Uprising was released three days after Crystal Palace, maybe thats why. Perhaps songs like Zion Train, Coming in from the cold and work was performed?
Hi: He may well have performed the songs you named but I honestly can't remember as I hadn't heard them before at the time. I think I also recall Bob singing Them Belly Full but am not so sure about this particular one. Best
the song is a lot different than op my Ipod
