with the sensitivity low and the output high can this thing act as a decent volume boost (i dont want much squash or change in EQ, just a little sustain and a clean volume boost), or would i be better off looking at the durham SD?

yeah it sounds like an extra good orange squeezer. I have to say the sex drive seems a lot more versatile, though, and certainly more transparent. obviously this thing gives more compression, when needed.
