Destroying? This knife is still in use in my shop! The only damage that resulted from the tests was some damage to the edge from the cinder block. That damage was fixed in about 15 min using a bench stone.
ummmm dude these knives in the video are definitely not scandi ground! if u look closely there is a final change of angle to the cutting edge. but dont worry about it i thought they were scandi ground too at first....
still loving the knife you made me. man its even more than i had hoped for. tougher than a sack full of anvils. had it since just after xmas, use it at work everyday and still sharp. you put the mojo on this one.
i forgot to mention that the length of the 1" x 2" oak board that i used my Kramer knife to shave off 1/4" with is 6' long. so the edge got a nice workout. it didnt dull the knife at all.
This knife is so well designed and so well made that its a pleasure to use. i used my Kramer knife to trim off 1/4 from the length of a 1" x 2" oak board the other day. i didnt baton the 1/4" off of the board,..i whittled it off. only took about 5 minutes.
i did baton some cedar shake shingles with it the other day so i could shim a door that i was hanging. worked like a champ. oh and i used the knife to mortise in a lockset for the door because we didnt have a chizel. it did a great job. still shaves hair on my arm too. lol i was even using it to crack walnuts one day,..lol. just whacked them with the back edge of the blade or the side of the balde,..either way worked great.
i have also cut a buttload of cardboard with my Kramer knife. it goes through it like butter. we had a tornado the other night. first thing i did was put my shoes on my feet, my cell phone on my belt and my Kramer knife on my belt also. never know when you may be in a survival situation if a tornado hits, and 5 did in my town that night. my house was spared TG. i am very pleased with this knife. and oh by the way,..i think the music on the video kicks butt.
I have not had a chance to put this knife to the test yet but judging from the looks of it, I am confident that this knife is tougher than a redneck mother-in-law. Thank you Eric, we will do business again.
The fit and finish of this knife is very nice. The kydex sheath is well designed, heavy duty enough for extreme conditions, yet not in the least bulky. The Kydex belt attachment is secured to the body of the sheath with roundheaded bolts (nice touch) and the knife can be worn in either a vertical or horizontal carry position. This knife cut paper like a razor blade right out of the box.
i received my kramer knife today. i ordered one just like the knife in the video with the tan handle. this is a first impression evaluation. Eric has been very considerate and a pleasure to do business with. My new knife arrived in a timely manner for a custom made blade. The knife is very impressive. Eric's craftmanship is excellent. His grind lines are all very even and the whole design of the knife says, "use me".
Thanks for the info, i had never seen that site before. As for me "copying from their site, all I did was take I knife that I made and beat the crap out of it to see what it would take. The ammo can test I did I got the idea from the cold steel video where they use a car. 2x4 cutting is used in cutting compititions everywhere so I suppose I copied that from them as well. Thanks for the reply.
If your really serious about making knives you should study low alloy steels and high alloys both google search steel making, you'll find some interesting stuff. the alloy and the treatment is what makes or breaks a blade or any other tool

Scandi grinds are awesome for destruction tests. They make excellent bushcraft knives due to their extreme durability.

The only damage that the knife sustained from the tests was some chipping after the cinder block. It was repaired in about 15 min. with a wet stone.
