I'm amazed how quiet the mech was BEFORE you isolated the audio. Some of the more modern machines clatter and bang like mad. This one's so quiet I wondered if it was actually 16mm before you got in closer! Great stuff.
Check Ebay, it's amazing what you will find. Some in better shape than others. We run this one at least twice a week. Paid under $600 for it, we had to pick it up due to its size, that was basically another $500 for we took our time.
...ah .. the portables...love the chain drives these units operates with..

It's a shame you can't really pick these up in the UK, I'd hate to imagine what it'd cost to import one, I know how heavy they are!

The plate shown at 16-18 seconds in doesn't show a year. just the voltage etc. I'm guessin' early 50's. One webpage sets the date around 1955.

Yup it made it safely from Texas to Northwest Indiana and now sits in our Kitchen. We project onto the living room wall - It's a great unit.
