@bpoogas Put it in a cup or bag of dry rice after disconnecting the battery. This will absorb all the water and is commonly used to save cellphones and laptops that have gotten wet. You'll need to let it sit overnight though with out any power. Afterwards the chance of it working are much higher.
Forget about removing the pads, they work best when they've never been removed, just look for an image of the screwholes on the bottom and drive your screwdriver into it. twist it a little, and you'll get through the pad material and into the screw.
I accomplished the same thing without taking anything apart - just turn the power switch to off on the bottom and leave the unit on the charger overnight
Shook my head all the way through this video...theres no way this will work (and I am a electronics technician), BUT IT DID ACTUALLY WORK!! Can't believe it but I believe that it resetting the MoBO in the mouse. Also my mouse was a different version with the metal clips holding it in and the battery is wired to the board and disconnects via a 3 prong plug but this just required one more step. Remove the metal clip, unscrew the battery holder and unplug the battery. WORKS GREAT, THANKS A TON!
:S It didn't work. I might have a different version (yes it is the MX revolution, it looks exactly the same. Mine had a silver latch on the battery and when I pulled it out I found that my battery was connected with a wire and I cant full remove it :(( PLEASE HELP !!
going to try this, my mouse has been randomly falling out making it skip :p tried slamming though it did solve the issue momentarily it kept coming back.
Hmm, I guess the on/off sw doesn't remove power from the entire mouse. Seems to me like Logitech knew this and hoped that nobody would figure out how to hard reset it.
Dude thank you so much for this info i through like 4 of those mouse types away in the trashcan for this problem and to see its that simple it makes me kind apissed that those fuckers of LOGITECH didnt give me that intel BUT YOU DID YOU ARE THE MAN !!! :respect:
My mouse had the metal clip and the wire connection too. I just took it a step further and removed both the clip and the plastic house that the battery sits on (there are two screws holding it to the board) you can access the connection where the wire meets the board and disconnect/reconnect it there. Solved my problem, many thanks deliax
Hi. the above video it gave me the boost to try to open my mx mouse from the MX5500 keyboard mouse set
after my son (3years old) slam the mouse to the wall this has stop charging.
it was deferent the reason that didnt charge. it was not the batery or the batery conector.
after the big hit to the wall the two contact on the mouse that going inside and on the PCB it was cut off! so i just heat it with my soldering iron and added some soldering to and the contact has restored
A few different fixes out there that include buying resisters or a new battery so I figured I would give this a shot. Worked well and is recharging with no critical blinking light error. No need to buy any parts unless you need the screw driver. My 3 pads on the bottom were still sticky and reconnected perfectly.
The only thing different then the video was a metal clip holding the battery in, but simple to remove. If you cannot figure that out then you are a retard and should buy a new mouse :)
Wow - I just followed the instructions and it works! Thanks.
It doesn't make logical sense,as the internal battery itself is connected to wires and there are no contact points to clean up, but my mouse is charging correctly for the first time since I got it - a refurbished model, the battery issue of which was probably the reason it was returned by the original owner.
Maybe a similar outcome to 'banging' it, but this won't damage it and will hopefully resove the problem permanently.
@jd2buy Sadly, it is not a permanent fix. I have to do this from time to time on both of my MX Revolutions. However, it so simple and easy to do that it doesn't bother me.
@deilax I removed the metal posts and removed the battery. However the battery unlike the utube video is attached by a wire and so doesn't completely disengage from the unit.
Another method you might try before taking the mouse apart is slamming it on the desk. If you search MX Revolution Slam there are tons of posts about the fix for it and it seemed to work well for me. Hold the mouse just like you would when using it over your floor or desk and give it somewhat of a bash on the desk. Instant fix for mine. I think it does essentially what this video shows and moves the battery.
Many a time I have bashed my mouse out of frustration but I wouldn't recommend doing this. Bashing out of frustration can break inner workings as bashing out of dire need can do the same. Just take a few moments and do it the right way and you don't run the risk of breaking $75+ machinery.
WOhoo it Worked!! Had to try it twice though. first time when I removed the battery it was turned off and it didn't work. When I turned it on and tried again it worked like a charm. Thanks for posting this. real lifesaver. I love my mx and don't want to have to buy another mouse anytime soon.
Mine fell in a cup of water.. currently disassembled and drying... fingers crossed

@ChallengerDS I pried the metal clip off but unlike the video my battery popped out but is connected with a wire to the unit itself
