  • On one of his visits to Mark and Brian, he played an earlier version of this song. I happened to record it on a tape, but have since lost it. That version was much less produced and Pop-Perfect than this one, and hence much better (in my opinion). If ANYONE has a recording of this earlier version, I would LOVE to get a copy. Thanks.

  • genius

  • Best Elton John song never written (or sung) by Elton ... Gilbert is definitely my best music find this year

  • @dhvmoon

darn.. this just may be the best comment i have read in quite a while

if Kevin G was alive he would enjoy the support of the peoples

  • One of my fave tracks off this release depending on the given day : ). "Shaming" is an album worth it's weight in gold. I'm so glad I was turned onto his talents.RIP KEV

  • " ... Making such a circus of the best laid plans The clowns arrive in a pirate ship And pose before the crowd Hilarious remarks and inactivity They throw the dog faced boy a bone Command him to play dead ..." talent will out, huh? well ... not always requiem en pace (sp?) kg ☮
  • I love this song. Thanks for posting!!!!!!

  • i kinda consider a solo act though where you perform and create a whole cd a band. even if it is centered around you, you still need people playing drums and what not. and that makes it enough of a band for me.

  • @Thera02

kevin did all of this himself.

just like when he wrote Cheryl crow's first album and the shitty thing is he got no credit. that bitch

  • @zezimashelpr her entire career has a death count. after her tonight show appearance after "leaving las vegas" and her saying the album was "autobiographical", the author of the book killed himself.

  • @therealpsp1mp

the proof is in her selfish pudding...what a crock of ...crow shit,eh?

    :~

  • @dreampoets if anybody needed to die it was her, not him.

  • @Thera02 He played all the instruments if Im not mistaken.

  • @johnnybgoode78

The drums were played by Nick D'Virgilio on most of the tracks... he did some back vocals as well as some other details to finalize the album!

  • awesome band. to bad more people dont know about them

  • You know this isnt actually a band right? Its just Kevin Gilbert. The Shaming of the True was a solo project right before he died. His bands Toy Matinee and Thud and Giraffe are good though.

  • Love this song. My favorite KG song. The Demo version is even better, uses toy keyboards during the opening and the little interlude part.

  • My favorite moment is from 3:13 - 3:37

  • I agree. Great key change, feels like it's shifting gears. This whole album is fantastic BTW.
