This is a backdraft and no one was killed in it either so the dickhead saying his friend's aunty's cousin's brother in law's father died in this incident is a fuckwit.
a flashover is defined as a rapid ignition of smoke when an area and contents have reached ignition temperature. though this may not be typical, it's still a flashover.

This is a fire gas explosion i think. They are similar to a backdraught where the fire is out but instead of the ignition source being 02 reintroduced at the ideal mix, it can be for example an ember uncovered.
they appearently didnt set up enough vents. they should have cut a hole in th roof, and busted out some windows. (i might look young, but i am a firefighter)
@Tippmannmann999 So are they. They probably know what they're doing, especially if you're still in Academy. They probably didn't have time to open enough convection vents, seeing as there are a bunch of people standing around.
this is a flash over a backdraft is when something is opened to let air in . you open the door then it pulls in fresh air then blows out look closleythe dors are open but the heat builds up and finally ignights and follows the smoke(unburnt particles) try going to some training and study about flashovers and backdrafts it may save you life or at least know what killed you
It is a backdraft. Backdraft is an Carbon Monoxide explosion. It occurs when a fire smolders and there is only CO left and when air is introduced to it, it blows up.
@ryanshadowfax12 No, it isn't. A backdraft has nothing to do with carbon monoxide. A backdraft is when the area is hot enough for fire to burn (combustion) but there isn't enough oxygen for it to actually occur. If someone opens a door, or if something collapses, oxygen rushes in and essentially explodes.
mightymaikmovies is right this is a backdraft...the fire didnt have tht much O2 and then they opened a door or something and i blows up flashover is just it getting really hot inside a structure and everything catches on fire
@LFD41dancer If they were opening a door they would have moved everyone out of the way. You can see them back away when they detect the flashover environment. When flashover occurs, the area usually lights like that; when everything in a room lights on fire at once, it tends to create a lot of flame.
I agree. Did you notice the heavy black smoke with almost no visable flames? I bet somebody opend a door or broke out a window out of sight of the camera
das ist kein flaschover und auch kein backdraft sonder das ist ein schimikalien brand und dan ist ein azitelen fass explodir das kam ei echt hart menschen am limit
no the heavy smoke was the sign of the backdraft. a flash over can occur seconds to minutes after a backdraft but the b.d. definitly already happened.
Definately not a flash. Similar to a backdraft but it doesn't look like an oxy starved fire with those two open doors. My vote is for the aforementioned chemical explosion.
@aliciaanddavo It was a backdraught. It was on the program Worlds Most Amazing Videos...the firefighters opened the doors before they brought their lines into use and that reintroduced oxygen to it.
Backdraft...they took out the window and boom. Flashover is when everything in the room gets so hot is erupts in flames. That is at like 998 degrees. Sweet vid though
The doors were already open therefore the fire was never starved of an oxygen. That was a flashover. The two clowns in front of the door without the proper PPE on probably shit their pants when that happened.
Ok for the stupid idot that cant spell down there, you need to go back through elementry school and after that redo fire school and pay close attention to the differences between a flashover and a backdraft.
nd btw smoke does egnite when it reaches a temp that is hot enough the smoke lites off believe me i've been in a flashover, not jus the simulator but an in the field flashover
Who r the two idiots standing right near the door not wearing any gear, im sure thats the last time they will do that again b4 thinking about there own safety
oxygene is fed to the overheated smoke (by opening a door or smashing a window) and ignites explosively. backdraft can you expect when the fire is extinguished due to lack of oxygen but the fumes are still superheated.
flashover..... look at the video's of the NIS on youtube...
ok all you that think was a backdraft that was flashover and its not when smokes ignights smoke is already burt its when it gets so hot every thing ingnights and if it was a explosian it would be bigger you can tell its flashover because smoke got thicker and that is a sigh of flashover is about to haPPAN
Just throwin this out there, but for the backdraft to happen the entire building would have to be cut off from air, and that building was pretty big... flash over is just when the smoke reached a flammable point and ignites. Lol I'll be the first guy to agree with the title :P
smoke doesnt ignite. it could have been a backdraft in the cockloft when somebody pulled a part of the ceiling. it could have been a backdraft in a closet. both of these would cause an immediate flashover.
Not a flashover. This was backdraft. Fire is made from 3 elements: air, fuel, and heat. Everything in backdraft just smolders, and smokes with no fire because there is no air. If you add air, BOOM! everything ignites again. Flash over is when the temperature in a room reaches 700 degrees. EVERYTHING except metal burns at 700 degrees, even smoke. that was backdraft.
its not the fire triangle anymore, its the fire tetrahedron...heat, fuel, oxygen, and a chemical chain reaction. get up to date on your fire behavior before you try and tell the world the difference bewtween backdraft and flashover lol.
Yeah my gues is chemicals. The fire was already getting oxygen through that door. therefore there was no rush of oxygen to cause a backdraft. And definetly not a flashover because as has already been said, it blew out fast

i saw this on a tv show and they said that it was flammable cemicals that did that from like a meth lab and the owners set fire to the place when they were busted to distory the evidence
You're right. This was not a backdraft, though it looks similar it is not. And it obviously didn't flash b/c it blew itself out. Chemicals in the building combusted causing the explosion. I watched it on The World's Most Amazing Videos.
