  • My favorite I guess "Kombo"

    Johnny Cage: A+B then Down+A

    Hehe. Ball Breaker to uppercut.

  • @jecoharman Would you say Sega consoles have a mega SEX drive?!? I know, bad joke. I just had to say that.

  • "I don't see whats so different about this por-OH GOD THE VOICES"

  • @rushnerd ya

  • What different Genesis version? Music?

  • It's basically the Genesis version with voices. :/

  • 2 years is alot in computing time but the 32x is twice the power.. my argument is sega are terrible at producing sound and it shows on all their consoles. graphics are fine and load speeds and have the same glitches as every body else but their sound chip sucks mega mega balls

  • @jecoharman The 32x was capable of producing better sound that the SNES. Programming sound for the 32x was pretty difficult, so many developers stuck to the inferior Genesis sound chip.

  • @jecoharman i would disagree, the sound chip is a good one on the megadrive, look at what can be achieved when they bother, shinobi

  • @cocacolaholic shinobi was an amazing game, ah the good old days, this debate makes me wanna by a mega drive and a snes again.

  • @jecoharman you cant beat the good old 2d games, i just find games these days far too involving, mario and sonic were at their best when they were 2d

  • @jecoharman

How so? The sound chips have been good on every signle console.

-Master System sound chip is not bad at all for an 8-bit console.

-MegaDrive is 2 years older than SNES, so of course the sound chip is outdated.

-32X and Sega CD have better sound chip than SNES.

-Saturn have better sound chip than N64.

-Dreamcast had the best sound chip of any console that was released in the 90's.

  • Missing the fact that Sega did not use 2 x 68000 CPUs. Mega Drive would have cost more but imagine the power in 1989 through to 1995.

  • sounds like the intro to beverly hills cop

  • the audio is shit in this version just like the genesis!!!! It does look better but the Snes version was my favorite back in the day.

  • How do you beat this? It's impossible non of the strategies utilized in the arcade version work. jax's might but I don't like using him. I can get to fight 6 if I'm lucky and I don't even play this anymore because it brings out the worst in me. I've destroyed keyboards and 2 carts. I devote myself to these games they are what I'm good at and have been playing them for 20 years and I've never seen anyone beat this port not on anything above very easy. Medium which is what I play is impossible.

  • Hahahhaaa.."Rayden"?!!

  • I remember this when i got the game. The bones dissapeared and all but that was from the whole sega controversy before. Mk3 added some sounds and kept it alive. Sega was a beast but honestly , snes had more power, color, sound, etc. . Im 30 now so i stick to my Xbox live !

  • great graphics goes to sega on the 32 but sound and smoothness goes to nintendo.. anyway the 32x was twice the power so snes wins cause sega cant produce.

  • @jecoharman You're just used to hearing the supernes it's sound range was more limited. It's comparing 2 different sound chips really 3 because the genesis utilized a programmable sound generator working in conjunction. Genesis was made for Arcade emulation.

  • @Luigi84289 your wrong the snes was more arcade perfect in terms of sound. it was smoother and didnt sound like it belonged in an 80s movie. people are so bias when it comes to gaming consoles. i had both and the snes was better at sound the 32x had better graphics.

  • @jecoharman The 32X sounds nearly identical to the arcade. It was fuller had a loud booming bass and the articulation of each segment was more pronounced than the snes. If you listen to the arcade it's clear that the 32X sounds closer. It emulates the arcade. The game doesn't sound the way it does on the 32X due to limitations or anything. There are plenty of 32X titles that showcase it's power.

  • @Luigi84289 i have a posted a hearing aid to you to help you in this arugement. i played arcades for years and they are crisp and perfect in every way. i owned the 32x and with was high pitched and sometimes the music didnt even match the arcade cause they couldnt produce the same sounds. i also owned a snes and the sound it produced was far superior, just to let you know how wrong you are google "snes vs 32x doom" and you will know what im talking about. look forward to your reply

  • @jecoharman The SNES version Doom music is better than 32X indeed. My prolem is all systems from this era have average music at best. I would rather PLAY Doom on 32X or PC and listen to music on my CD player. The SNES has better music (albeit marginally) was one of the weakest arguments of the 90s ... given that SNES was released a whopping 2 years after MD it ought to have 'better music'. 2 years is a lot in computing time.

  • God the music on this game sounds crappy, very genesis-ish

  • are yall serious....SNES was the best home port of this game hands down. We had them all and the only one we ever played or held tournaments on was SNES.

  • Haha I love that:

    FLAWLESS VIRTORY

    FATAL1TY!

    Haha nice!

  • Graphics are good but the music still sucks.

  • @JuicyPlayer No it doesn't listen to the arcade.

  • Megadrive MK2 Music rocked! Better than the Arcade and Snes IMO.

  • never owned mortal kombat 2 or a 32x

  • The music and sound effects are horrible, the graphics however are quiet better than those of the SNES version, anyway, I prefer the SNES version . . .

  • There's a reason Game Informer gave the SNES version an 8/10 and the 32X version a 9/10.

  • Raiden: Soy Naruto

  • This is how the genesis version should have been like. They did aweful attempts on both mk1 and mk2 on the genesis. Look how much they fit into MK3 and Ultimate MK3, they had pretty much all of the sound effects and correct music for each stage. there's no reason that they couldnt have done the same with MK1 and 2 for the genesis.

  • just a step up from the genesis version. or you can just buy the super nintendo version

  • MORTAL KOMBAT 2 WAS THE SCARIEST GAME EVER WHEN IT FORST CAME OUT.

  • @redrobincleveland forst?

  • @TheWaynelds you know wat i meant donkey dick licker.

  • @redrobincleveland Proof read your comments so you dont end up looking like a Doopoo Whoopoo when you misspell a simple word like first

  • that graphics can beat snes, but sounds like a genesis port sucks.

  • SEGA 32X MK2 is my favorite console version.SNES version doesn't compare imo.

  • @TboneNYC10 What? The SNES version is much superior in everything when comparing to the SEGA version.

  • @Patronaros Yes! the 32X version is superior over the SNES version.

The SNES version is better than the Genesis version, but not the 32X version.

    Get it,got it,,good.

  • @Patronaros Uh, no? The only thing you could say was better in SNES compared to 32X was sound, and that's debatable anyway.

  • @TboneNYC10 Oh boy! Doesn't say much when you have to buy a extra chunk of hardware (or poison mushroom) to play the game. This should've been Arcade perfect. In this respect, this is pathetic.

  • raiden say : Naturo

  • I like how Sub Zero was still falling for half a sec, when he splattered.

  • @Poweredbygamerscom Cause this has been emulated.

  • @kreeddem I never did a pit fatality when I had the 32x version. When I bought the 32x version back in the day, I traded in my SNES version. After playing it that night, I traded it back, and got my SNES version back.

Graphics are good in this version, but all around, SNES version is better.

  • @Poweredbygamerscom Not a chance in hell is the snes version is better than this. in the snes the sound samples sound like 6000Khz and very muffled they are also very high pitched, the graphics are really shit, the music is horrible (ear rape). The game plays nothing like the arcade, all in all I say it's one of the poorest ports out there. 32x is the best home port IMO beating pc saturn and ps1 as well. it's only cause the ym2612 is doing the music people hate megadrive and 32x, YM2612 FTW!

  • @kreeddem No way dude. I can totally see how you can simply like the 32x version better, but to say the SNES version is that bad? I disagree completely. I even went back and played the SNES version on my Mortal Kombat MAME cabinet and it totally holds up to the arcade version, given the technical limitations on the Super NES. Yes, there are a few things in the SNES version that prevent it from having a 10/10 score, but for an over all experience, I totally prefer the SNES version.

  • The bottom line the 32X SUCKED!

    Whats that from? XD

  • @yoshi9891 AVGN, but I disagreed with the fact that the 32X sucked, but IMO the 32X was OVERALL OKAY, but I could have been so much better!

  • its just like the genesis version

  • Comment removed

  • @fctar: Yeah that's so true,But I can tell it was rushed, and I heard that some games for the 32X that were rush had programming glitch errors I think..But Honestly I can see why some people hate the 32X,because of what went on in the system's life,I can see that people asume it was just a piece of junk as they felt that it wasn't really a 32-bit system at all.

  • @fctar: Yeah I remember hearing about that, not too many developers made games for it,and I noticed that some games like Doom was rushed...and I can see why the music sucks too, because from what I seen,it look better than the SNES version, but the music was terrible..and that it was missing a few levels.

  • @fctar: Hmm I see...I guess I can see why people got turn off by most of the 32X library of games >.>; because I'll be honest, the only 32X games I play were Tempo,Knuckles Chaotix,Mortal Kombat II at one point, and Virtua Fighter, that's it,I know the other classic games on there like Virtua Racing and some others, but yeah...So basically it was hard to program that not many developers used it? I can guess that Sega was the only one that was using it..since it was their system..if I'm not mistaken.

  • @fctar: Ooooh...o.o;; no wonder..Because I understand that the 32X was just an add-on,but it was a bit more powerful than the genesis itself,So Which 32X Games used the Q-Sound System? I'm pretty sure Knuckles Chaotix used it so yeah, but any other games besides that? And really? O.o You know you have a point actually about that,as I noticed that some games sounded different on different emulators (Like when I played Knuckles Chaotix on Kega Fusion and GENS emulator.)

  • Just had an intense nostalgiagasm.

  • They really did a good job with this port,it updates the genesis version with better graphics, sound effects, and more voice clips are added in,the only thing I do not understand is why they decided to use the same soundtrack from the genesis instead of recomprassing it for the 32X Sound Chip. O.o

  • basically the genesis version with arcade voices, energy bars look better too.

  • @diegoaccord and more colors, and low punch when crouching (now you need high punch to uppercut), and the intro is back, and difficulty has been adjusted to make more sense for a console (everything is two levels easier now).

  • this version is what the original mega drive version should have been!

  • @4:47 PLAY THE GUITAR!!!

  • @sinjeet1

    Lol

  • 3:11

    WTF HALF FATALITY?????

  • This would have killed the SNES if it would have gotten the missing tracks and in order too. Kombat tomb for select screen!? Come on... And the ribbon problem is weird it glitches your game. Other then that I love it.

  • @BBSroll Yes, It SHOULD've killed the SNES version.

  • @MysticArksRevenge You know, besides the fact that the 32x is a clunky piece of plastic that most people steered clear of.

  • @MetroidJunkie2007 That is true. I am not really a fan of the 32 X.

  • OH I HAVE THIS FOR 32X ON PC

  • I didnt herd a punch noise at 4:16

  • this is the best fucking game ever i like better than 3 and 1, they need to remake this keeping it old school for ps3 like shaolin monks but with better graphics I think sony should remake just number 2

  • @RTTech1987 i agree that mk2 was the best, but i also enjoyed the first one alot. played the hell out of both of them.

  • @RTTech1987 They basically did dude. The new MK game for ps3 and 360 is like so effing close to this one. Like even to the point where moves are the same button combinations. It's pretty legit

  • @kougar2439 Rayden was alwasy Rayden since the first Mk. I don't remember exactly when it was changed to Raiden. But because they did, it shouldn't even be pronounced as RAY-DEN anymore but RIGH-DEN, kinda like on metal gear solid 2.

  • @killerklown91 No, Raiden was Raiden in the arcades, but for whatever reason they changed the spelling of his name in the home versions.

  • @tightlypackedcoil Oh okay, that makes sense then. I never got to play MK at the arcades. My big brother never wanted to take me haha.

  • @tightlypackedcoil snes it was raiden

  • Why'd you skip Reptile?

  • eazy level?

  • @ADOYUG Nope.

  • @segadatabase lol thats definitly easy u cant just spam raidens special moves and hit him unblocked on other elevels

  • sound sucked in the genesis version...

  • @n0ledge nope, better than the arcade to me, love the ym2612 sounds.

  • @kreeddem snes sounds were better tho

  • I loved how they kept the music the same the soundtrack for the sega ones were better then snes and the original.

  • @modewr 32x has sharper perfect arcade graphics!

  • I recommend the one on the genesis it's more memorable the music was kick ass I remember playing the genesis one with my brother a long time ago the only good thing about the 32X version is the graphics the genesis graphics are just plain colors.

  • 3:59. is that blaze in the background

  • I think the SNES version is better than this one...

  • @Bizarrix it´s faster..

  • @Bizarrix it is slightly faster...

  • @Bizarrix It is. But for a more recent release port, the XBox version in Midway Arcade Treasures 2 is the best port graphically, but the PS2 version gets the edge because of the controller's superior D-Pad.

  • @Bizarrix YOu need glasses... And a hearing aid too.

  • @Bizarrix Really? I think SEGA 32x version is better than SNES!

  • @Dimon12321 It's superior in every way and the most similar to the arcade.

  • @Dimon12321 missing fighting scenes clip from original arcade intro

  • open your eyes mother fuckers. the 32x version of mk2 looks like is missing colors/and frames on some of the levels in the background. only the intro looks sharp. but the music/sound is shit. sounds like someone making terrible noises on a fucked up synthesizer. i think the best version of mk2 is probably the arcade version. i dont like the music on psx version

  • Looks really sharp graphics wise, sounds really good too. Probably the best console port of the game from the looks of it. I had the snes version, which looked pretty good. The Genesis version is missing animation and a lot of background/landscape items are missing, if I remember right.

  • i love that image of Shang T. Sung grovelling like a little bitch for another chance lol

  • this is just the gfx looking good and the sound still sounding like trash. LOL the snes version was the best console version.

  • I never understood why Raiden's name was "Rayden" in the home console ports.

  • @Calbenmike To avoid confusion with Fatal Fury's character, which was coming out on the Genesis at the same time as the MK ports. Weird.

  • Man I hated that all the remains would disappear after fatalities. Ugh!

  • I was sure it's Raiden, not Rayden. Sega always had a niche for ruining everything they touch. Ask Sonic how he's been lately.

  • @TiMMYSQUibbLES Well, quality issues or not, his games still sell really well. I thought Shadow was crap, but it was a big hit, so what do I know? (Sonic 4 and Colors were a step in a good direction though). It was also not Sega's decision to change the Raiden spelling, they had nothing to do with the port (Acclaim published, Probe developed; it was just on Sega's console).

  • This ain't got nothing on Trilogy

  • Probe could'nt port these MK2 games woth a lick.

Genesis version was inferior to the SNES

32X version looked as good as the SNES version and had more things but the music was as bad as the Genesis version

Saturn version had arcade quality graphics but terrible loading times, tons of missing frames of animation along with missing voices.

Then u compare the ports of MK3 and UMK3 on the Saturn and Genesis and they shit on Probes half ass ports.

  • @Da1shocker I 0% agree with you there.

  • dude love that you know how to play because you are epic at this

  • still snes version is the best home version!..SEGA and their bad tries to compete

  • @eDyRaYaDo23 Do not blame it on Sega ,PROBE was the one who did bad conversions.

  • Do you really need any other reason to own a 32x than this?

  • @modewr 16 bits :P lol just kidding.

  • This was a good version. But the sound wasn't all that impressive.

  • this is just a enhanced mega drive version with more glitches

  • 3:13. Did he just molest him?

  • I had always tought this port was perfect, but it got some Genesis problems like bad sound and poor backgrounds. SNES version is better. 32X sucked.

  • @modewr I think the Genesis copy had circles for shadows. SNES and Sega 32X have full body shadows.

  • @modewr I agree, at the time to me this was the better looking and playing version of MK2. Until Saturn and PS1 versions released.

  • 4:18 epic fail

  • @BronzeTurd If you're trying to be funny at least quote the right time. Epic fail on your part, right back at ya.

  • @segadatabase im not trying to be funny, im saying the fact that they couldnt fix the glitch that spawned that sprite that showed him splattered on the ground is kind of dumb

  • @BronzeTurd Alright, ignore what I said then. I've had some pathetic comments about how I messed that shocker fatality and frankly they became a little boring.

  • @BronzeTurd ha go back to playing wow you american turd

  • @Thegoldstarman wow is an overrated piece of shit

  • @BronzeTurd i never played that shit and never will full of fucking geeks

  • @BronzeTurd I agree with you. And you had the timing perfect.

  • how to do fatalities with sub zero i cant do them..................are they easier with 6 button or somethin else?

  • The graphics look better than the snes and genesis versions.

to the guy complaining about the controls on sega.....anyone back then who liked to play fighting games bought a 6 button turbo controller, which is personally my favorite controller to play a fighting game with, even better than the snes controller.

  • 3:12 - 3:15 sounds like Raiden is shooting a machine gun

  • so glad they kept the awesome megadrive soundtrack despite upgrading the sfx, the music on the megadrive version was its best aspect.

  • snes is better

  • still... even in the 32x shit sound sucks -.-

  • How do u get the sound mod for ur game??

  • @modewr The intro screens, improved colours, more frames of animation, some sound improvements. The 32X version was actually build from a base of the PC version.

  • @segadatabase oh! really! wow! than just the SOUND QUALITY ONLY SUCKS! sorry 4 sounding like a wannabe game critic but can MIDWAY ever release a classic MK game that is ARCADE PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!! It would make them alot of money! and I think the demand would be HIGH! i've always like the first 3 MK games and the new one that is coming out next year looks actually good!

  • and when i mean MK2 has shitty ass controls, i mean the 32x version not the SNES version! that SNES version is just fine!

  • @ERMACmk1990 The six button controller is just fine.

  • @ERMACmk1990 hahaha pleaaaaaaase the 32X version is far more superior than the SNES version.

  • @sybnios Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnn, have u heard the sound music on this shit! that kind of shit i can not forgive, even for the 32x

  • I never played MK2 4 the 32x, just the genesis and snes version, but just by looking at this version it looks way better than the shitty genesis version and a little bit better than the snes version, BUT THE SOUND QUALITY SUCKS ASS!!!!! if it at least had the snes sound it would have been a awesome port BUT i heard that the controls are shitty as well

  • HABADATAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!

  • the only difference in this and the genisis is the voices

  • this is the better MK2 port then sega genesis

  • they should have just kept the genesis sounds, the arcade sounds especially the screams are terrible, but the game looks great visually

  • holy crap Probe did you shit up this port bad enough? The 32x could've EASILY handled an arcade perfect (or at least near perfect) port of this game.

  • oh yeah looking at this port, my guess is it was Probe's fault rather than the 32x.

  • Wow, looking back on it the 32X was truly useless, wasn't it?

  • @TheGunpowderTreason Any deficiencies with this 32x port was probably more Probes fault than anything else's.

  • what version is this they sound so diff i have snes version

  • This verson sucks. They even made the pit stage look bad. :-/

  • nada que ver con el de sega genesis no?? jaja mas parece de play 1

  • how do you do those moves with raiden the lightning, the flying, and the fatality

  • lightning = D,F,LP

    Flying - B,B,F

    Fatality, i have no idea.

  • @UbelievableSpeed I still have a 32x hooked up playing mortal kombat 2 on a 37 lcd hdtv.Looks great still.

  • sounds like shit

  • finnish him

  • Why did you skip Liu Kang?

  • @zzzra86 I suppose it was a boring fight. I did this video AGES ago :)

  • jajajaja It's funny man jaja against Jax the fatality didn't make it jaja

  • yea this version was dam good i dont know know how the hell can anybody like the snes version over this or even over the genesis version i mean in the snes version you only get 5 continue chances

  • This was good... but PC version was awesome...
