@AlexCardz well,all minecraft versions are the same instead of some minor changes.in alpha,there is no beds.,n 1.1,there are.so,the tecniques dont change,but the tools do.so it will work :P

This still works! It just doesn't work with boats anymore. You just go up and down manually by swimming. And you can use signs to make air pockets so you don't drown. :)

i spent about 1.5 hrs in real life trying to make my elevator....i was excited and died like 3 times by falling down(my shift key is broken)....then i put the boat in the water....and guess what?...i found out that it doesn't work anymore.... i guess it was a glitch and they removed it! SO any1 who doesn't wanna waste the time, dont make it...instead, make a zombie trap or a farm etc... paul has some really great vids.... DONT WASTE THE TIME MAKING THIS

my boat didnt like me. weni reached the top it decided to take revenge on me for putting my sharp diamond armoured ass on its wooden precuis. at the top it spun around and we both went sailing off the cliff. i screamed in real life. if i had stayed in the boat i would be alive. but i decided to jump out. the fall killed and the boat landed happily in a nearby lake.
