agree - bass could be punchier like on the original. one of the best bass lines among their many greats with the one to `everything she does is magic' being another. i kind of like the fill Andy did where the keyboards were but still like the original
listen kids heres the thing this is recorded on a fone now fones & applicances like that have limiters on which cut off severe bass & top end thats why digital music sux & analogue rules also modern head fornes have health & safety shit built in to its adeliberate act to destroy music
@unbelivableLP I'm not trying to get his attention and what makes you think I'm crying? (lol! That's a ridicules comment.) I'm just expressing that I believe he doesn't sound good, I'd expect better from Sting, that's all.
@bugmusk6 How do you know that I haven't, tough guy? So you took 5 minutes away from sucking Stings cock just to send a nasty response to a comment I made 4 months ago about a less than inspiring performance? Good job, cupcake ; )
True, it’s a pity that by the time the Police got to Europe in ’07, they’d dropped two of their greatest hits from the set: Spirits & Bed’s too big. And they added Hole in my life, which we could have done without hearing frankly. And when they returned to Europe in ’08 they’d dropped Truth Hits Everybody, Synchronicity II & Walking in your Footsteps. But they added Bring on the Night & Demolition Man. So, by the end of the tour, the Police setlist was shorter, but they were playing much better.
Hello. We are a new Reggae/Rock band from Miami named HYLLUS trying to be heard. We have many different influences and strive to create a new sound. Check us out for a new groove.
This version, like the one they did on the Synchronicity tour, appears to be played in the key of D minor; while the studio recording appears to be in the key of A minor. I've been trying to play along with the live version and struggling because it is in a different key. Anybody have any helpful tips?
play Dmin on the 10th fret with an E root on the g string and then move root to D on g string. This is then followed by a C chord on 8th fret then Am on 5th fret. keep all strings slightly muted to give the right rhythmic thrust.
Wow - now I know why they didnt do it on the rest of the tour - C'mpn Andy you could have mimiced the synth better than that- listen to Sting's demo version - its just awesome -
As great a song as this is, they need to fly in some keyboards, I believe, to make the sound a bit more thick in a live setting. I wouldn't want them to ever have backing musicians on stage, but for a song like this, the keys are needed.
like a stripped down zz top hotrod!

@mrbrianmccarthy Exactly where was the bass?
jerseyjamrock 3 months ago
Sting should've had the bass much louder. There's a lot of bass going on in that song. View how he played same song during Sycnhronicty tour.

I don`t believe this is a bad version, but I prefer Sting`s vocals on the Synchronicity concert.
Delgift 1 year ago
It lacks energy but I'm sure they could have put some more life into it if they worked on it. Wish they would have.

hey sting, it's called a Electro-Harmonix voice box use it and tune the freaking guitar

no me gusto esta gira. mucho escenario para pobres interpretaciones de los clasicos. en este caso, hicieron desaparecer los teclados..

The words make the song for me.
"Our so called leaders speak. With words they try to jail ya... They subjugate the meek but it's the rhetoric of failure..."

I think the audio is weird because it was recorded on a cell phone or something. The bass is hard to hear as well.

I miss the rage he had when he was younger...damn it!

you can't expect him to be the same as he was 30 years ago. We all will be different in 30 years time.

i'll still be playing the same fucking way all my life though.

I consider the audio q quite good for a bloody cell phone to be honest

it must be a digital camera instead.
but this version of the song sucks.

honestly, something sounds ammis, its not deadon, even for the police! maybe because the recording is far away? stings voice is as good as ever.

On the studio version Andy Summers' guitar can be heard if you listen closely. Synths were just used to subdue it to make it sound more modern

cool, why didnt they play this in the europe phase of the tour, i wonder?

His voice hasn't deteriorated at all! I did wonder before the Police reformed as his recent solo albums were generally alot lower notes. *****
