  • Lupe Fiasco brought me here!

  • @damonkrug Two guys I admire for being honest.

  • It's easy to buy into the propaganda (I did so myself with Obama, briefly). However, the NDAA also increased nuclear expenditure by the US (already at $30bn a year, which was Wallstat's projected cost of wiping out world starvation in 2011), which is hardly the way to go about disarmament.

  • I loved Howard Zinn, his words still ring true with me. Very inspirational. Thank goodness that we still have his videos and writings. Howard Zinn taught me how to not be neutral. Today I protest the NDAA with my Occupy mates in America. We are all facing arrest for our civil disobedience today.

  • Those two, especially the middle one, are so much his intellectual inferior it is embarrasing

  • Progressive are truly an amazing species- draconian control of small arms in this country but......NUCLEAR WEAPONS for WHOEVER can develop them in the rest of the world!

  • Because of Howard Zinn i became a better person. Its not what he says could be 100% true i mean were all humans and have opinions, its the fact he had the same thoughts i had. Im not a dumb punk rocker like 99% of the population so yeah. Not all punks are dumb. Stay true and stay free.

  • I agree a peace prize should be given to ones who advocate peace and have not initiated wars & killings not to those who start wars and then sign a peace treaty that benefits them. The real winner of peace prize should be the peace promoters like Ahmadinejad whose speech at the UN promotes peace

  • @Lamboragon Socialism simply means ownership of the means of production by workers. The USSR called itself socialist, but a small elite of apparchiks telling everyone else what to do does no more to facilitate a classless society than the IMF's policies facilitate free markets. A worker self managed cooperative, like the Mondragon Co-Op, can exist without any government entities. The workers own their place of work, and they trade the goods they produce on a free market. That's not slavery.

  • The Nobel Peace prize doesn't mean shit.

  • @Lamboragon I think you need to understand what socialism really means, and im not talking about the neo-liberal socialism which has been instrumental in demonizing the classical socialism. As with all political ideas, all of them can be easily implemented less, much and basically in any way you like, for good or bad. Todays so called socialism is indeed a damaging kind, but it should be understood that it is a neo-liberal conception and not constructed after the classical socialist idea.

  • War is sometimes good, would these people have us not fight Hitler and Stalin? not try to stop genocides in Rwanda and Darfur and Libya? Is war always bad I ask you...obviously the answer is NO, but these people do not understand that

  • @TechnoDevotee Zinn was actually a world war 2 veteran. He said there there are no good wars, but necessary wars.

  • I'm no American but i'm following the polls and its extremely important that Ron Paul gets the recognition he deserves. He truely is the ONLY honest politician in the US who should become president. The question is: Will they let him? Because he's a major threat for the establishment.

  • President Carter earned his Nobel Peace Price not President Obama. President Obama will never be as great and courageous as Reverend Martin Luther King Jr (1929-1968). Barack Hussein Obama II and Michele Obama are lawyers who are aware of legal re-courses to possibly overcome betrayals by many Democrats.

  • AAAAAAAH i'm so FUCKING angry man..

  • "Taliban is not Afghanistan's main enemy."

I can't locate the article which the presenter is referring to, but I'm going to assume that it argued that Afghanistan's biggest enemy was, infact, the United States' military operation. No doubt a sentiment these goons would assent with.

    Makes me nauseous.

  • @mrgringo22 I totally agree with you. Its a bunch of BS

  • let's unite and take back the White House and the Peace Prize! Obama is the biggest disappointment!!!

  • Joe Wang said it best "Obama should give the money to the military"

  • nobel "peace" prize -

its just a load of bullshit. If the world leaders had some spine, they would refuse attending it...to attain it one "shall have done the most or the best(6 ongoing wars,ex colombia, afgh.iraq pakistan) work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing(obama creating more nuclear arms) armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses"(even if they do so, US drones killes dozens of civilians in pakistan as of this moment)

  • those 2 dumb ladies wont let zinn get a word in

  • I was hoping he would bring up Kissinger. I thought I heard something about that. And the Nobel has been a laughing stock since then. Howard Zinn you never let me down.

  • zinn is an Idealist..Not a Realist...you dont lay down arms in Midst of a war ,You cut your losses and with draw from battle line..Thats what happened in Iraq....

  • These women should go to Afghanistan or Gaza and get genitally mutilated under gender apartheid if they love Islam so much.

  • Obama and Robert Fisk are both right. Obama doesn't deserve it because he's a war President that won for public speaking.

And under intl, law (if you believe in it), you can make the case that by continuing two illegal and immoral wars, Obama is a war criminal. If he doesn't withdraw from Iraq and Afghanistan, he'll just be a one-term President. And he'll have nobody to blame but himself.

  • Sorry. I meant Zinn and Fisk (NOT Obama). Sorry for the typo.

  • It looks like a highly bugeted interview inside a chicken booder with some drapery. Obama got the Peace Prize based on an IOU he will never pay back.

  • those prizes r bullshit anyway

  • this must make conservatives heads explode

  • or its all just another language to them, Ive actually had some neo-conservatives tell me with a tone of baffled surprise "ive never thought of it like that" when I explain even the simplest concepts from a different perspective than their used to.

  • totally listening to this makes me want to puke.

  • Howard Zinn paused when it came to discussing Israel; I wonder why.

  • Actually this was an excerpt from a program that was mostly discussing the Arab/Israeli conflict. This was posted the day after Obama received the prize.

  • OK. Why didn't he speak on that woman's comment? -2 for me already? Wow. You goddamned fools. (*comment intended for those who thumbed-down me*)

  • @DermochelysCoriacea Howard Zinn is pro-Palestinian and anti Zionist.

  • Thank you Howard, for keeping a clear mind to the end.

  • Thanks to Howard Zinn for being alive! Why does Nobel ignore people like Howard Zinn for a Peace prize? maybe because he condemns American militarism, unlike Obama who talks about American leadership by conducting drone attacks on unsuspecting Afghans and Pakistanis.
