  • amazing! Make this video called crazy shifting.

  • yo bro we gave you some gauges so you can gauge your gauges.

  • probably just a sadev gearbox

  • Is that a Jericho tranny?? I powershift decent but can't touch this guy.. Lol

  • @bigcamcamaro2 thats a jerico

  • if i was in there this video would be called insane shitting in car

  • Anyone know where the local kroger is?

  • Sweet stang

  • To see the this car from the outside make that run... Search : Sick88LX. That's the car, lol

  • Now everybody's Ronnie fucking Sox!!! Bottom line, if you don't use the clutch, it's an automatic!!

  • I love mustangs, your car sounds amazing, nice shifting.

  • Lenko FTW?

  • it has lightning rods, just slap em and it shifts

  • sequential tranny

  • Grabbin Gears

  • its probably a + and - tranny haha

  • @acruz09 dumbass

  • @Yum917 fuck you u ignorant basterd

  • i bet thats good for the transmission

  • lol no lifting off the gas pedal? i think not!! speed shifting ftw

  • intense o'O

  • dang he was shifting good job

  • Your not driving a manual transmission car properly when drag racing if your "right" foot is coming off the accelerator every time you make a gear change. Period.

  • @StickShiftRacer If it's not a street car, sure. It's good to take load off of the synchros for the whole tenth of a second or less that a shift takes. Professional drag racing is why there are Lenco style transmissions, sequentials, and stuff like face plated TKOs around, clutchless shifts where there is no need to lift off the gas.

A lot of street cars use a WOT box for no lift shifting without causing damage, though.

  • @kcole939 I drive a 9 second Super Stocker with a "clutch assisted" G-Force G-101, just so you know "I" know what's going on. Have a nice day...

  • @StickShiftRacer I'm sure you do. You're speaking of a transmission that was designed for racing. As if speaking about any transmission in general like that is true - it's not. It's false.

Try no lift shifting with a Non-W/C T5 in a Camaro, or a T45 or TR3650 in a 99-04 Mustang GT. I learned the hard way just from a bit of power shifting. My '01 Mustang GT's 2nd gear synchro is shot. So, I'm on the look out for a T56.

  • @kcole939: Powershifting is def worth it, syncros are cheap and its not a very hard job to change them

  • @zTyphoN Maybe to get an extra tenth or two in on a 1/4 mile pass, on a car that isn't street driven much. I daily drive my '01 GT, and my '86 IROC is an auto. On a DD car, it's just not feasible to romp on it 24/7, and drop the trans every month or two.

I'll stick with roll racing for now, since the shock of a launch isn't there. Maybe when I have a built T56, with carbon fiber synchro blocker rings, billet shift keys, bronze pads, etc. It is worth it though, if you're trying to be quick.

  • @kcole939: yeah, on my 351 foxbody i went for about 5-6 months before having to replace the synchros and that's daily driving, and im only 18 so that means getting down on it way more than one time a day and powershifting, and i think it's worth it too with all of the compliments saying how fast i shift, because it sounds like an auto with powershifting

  • @zTyphoN Same with me. I have a few fly by exhaust videos of my '01 GT on my other account. I hit 4th @ 90 MPH as I pass the camera in both videos, and you can't hear the shift. I've had to show a few people over the 'net pictures of my interior, proving it's a manual.

My comment about a T56 must have given me good luck. I found a pretty good deal on a T56 with a 26 spline input, carbon synchros, billet keys, plus a Centerforce clutch, Fidanza flywheel, 03-04 Cobra aluminum driveshaft.

  • Just so Ya know, I accidently ALMOST hit "dislike". That's the only way you got any dislikes, except maybe from the guy in the other lane.

  • thats why i want a fox body mustang again

  • this man is getting it done! you can hear him power shifting especially in the higher gears

  • 3 people are GAY!!!!!

  • @ostacruiser Dont be ashamed

  • No matter what mood I'm in, this video makes me grin.

  • he is deff shifting it i can see his hand

  • is that a mustang?

  • @DIENAMICProductions yes a fox body

  • thats bad ass

  • @mc0311grunt

It might, but you also "gots" half the credit for going as fast as the guy in the next lane going just as fast shifting his own trans.

  • I gots an automatic. gurantee you it runs hard.

  • If there is no transmission in a Fuel car, explain how they put it into reverse after the burnout. I'm positive that they do not spin the motor backwards to get back to the staging line!

  • @91slownotch

    casper... duhh

  • Lenco?

  • this is a sequential gearbox. Not your everyday stick. More like a motorcycle gearbox

  • @markstalman i dont think its a sequential .. u cant hear the annoying noise of the sequential gear box when u shift to higher gears

  • Bangin gears. pretty sick.

  • This sounded like there is an air solenoid shifter doing the shifting

  • I think a lot of people in here have the wrong idea about automatic vs manual. Whichever one shifts the fastest doesn't necessarily make it "faster". A manual will always put more power from the engine down to the wheels because of less internal parts to rob power. As far as I know, autos are desirable for drag racing because they produce much more consistant times easier than manuals do.

  • @taylorfranklyn I know my DSM even if it went below 10's would never see an auto. John Shepard runs 7.7 and still runs a 5speed

  • @taylorfranklyn correction: the volkswagen DSG can shift in 8 milliseconds, thats .008 seconds, which is pretty fast if you ask me.

  • @taylorfranklyn no, semi-automatics are basically clutchless manuals. there are many different versions, but the superior one right now is a DCT, with shift times that can be as low as 0.08 seconds.

  • I just cant afford a manual swap yet.

  • I just cant afford a maunual swap yet...Argh

  • thats sick man good job

  • But auto cars are fast as hell .. And with a good tranny the cars will shift hard .. My dad has a buick grand national with a build tranny and when it shifts it throws the car like 30feet .... But stick cars are fast to ... It depend on the driver mostly ..... My dad has beaten many stick cars cuz he can't miss a shift in a auto car .... But it depends on what the driver wants

  • @oohklu actually generally automatics are slower than manuals, but it all depends on the car and how you mod it. and if youre missing shifts....something is wrong

  • Automatics are for when you race in competition for money and for your livelihood. No matter how good you think you are, you absolutely WILL NOT beat the consistency of an auto. There is also less parts breakage with auto because the driveline does not experience sudden shocks upon launch like in this video. People who think automatics are for pussies, old people, lazy people etc are simply immature and inexperienced in the sport of drag racing.

  • @gtdrummerdude And on top of that, cars with well built automatics with torque converters that are properly matched to the engine's torqueband- and rear end gears that are well matched to the car's intended use- are VERY fun to drive. I've driven a V8-powered, 4 speed manual car for two years now and it gets old after a while. I'd rather have a 4 speed auto with overdrive and a 3000 stall anyday.

  • @gtdrummerdude but u cant controll wen the autos shift gears.....there r situations where u need to shift after ur opponent to take advantage of the drop in their torque bend

  • @Steven11525 This is exactly what i'm talking about, people who don't know what they're talking about and are inexperienced. I don't mean to be a jackass but you just proved my point. The valve body of an automatic transmission can be modified to give you full control (better yet you can just buy what's called a "full manual valve body") and your shifter is actually directly connected to the shift valve so the the transmission shifts the instant you move the shifter, no matter what speed or rpm.

  • @gtdrummerdude good point but wat if u dont no how to modify the shift valve

  • @Steven11525 then you take it to someone who knows how install a valve body which is pretty much anyone that knows anything about working on transmissions- if you seriously couldnt figure that out stick with putting the handle thing next to the D and pushing the thingy on the right to go vroom vroom

  • That's a mean stang .... I think a auto car is great for drag racing but stick is better for the streets considering you could dump the clutch and go ... But I guess it boils down your personal opinion .... I kinda like stick cars better

  • autos are consistent though

  • @sicknotch consistently boring. The only excitement on the strip with an auto is pulling over and going to chance your luck on the Hot Dog Lottery

  • Wow! The hateraid is flowing..LOL anyway just wanted to point out, auto trans are usually used in drag racing for consistant times. IMO this guys is shifting a Lenco or some sort of variation. Either way looks like fun. =D

  • 5.0?

  • That shifting is nasty ass shit. Thats how you power shift that fox. Nice bro!!!

  • im getting my first car in like 3 - 4 weeks, and i have driven a few 5 speeds and like them a lot, i could never have an automatic unless im like 80 years old, manual trans makes any boring car fun!

  • Automatics aren't for pussies, anyone who says they are doesn't know drag racing any better than I know 14th century poetry. Automatics are the best for drag racing. If you disagree, then go watch the top fuel cars and let me know when you see one driving a stick.

That being said, sticks are certainly fun, and you have to respect anyone who can drive the hell out of one like this guy apparently can (assuming this is legitimately a stick car with a clutch).

  • @Gauge128

    Well said!

  • @Gauge128 well lets face it, if they could do proper tracks (ones that include right bends as well NASCAR) then they would do that, not drag racing. The great things about you colonials and your love for the auto was that by driving "stick" a yank lass I knew got turned on and we had lots of furious, kinky sexual fun. The sort of fun that those guys driving autos can only remember in the distant pass when they were young, verile and able to entertain nubile girls.

    Gary Glitter drove an auto

  • @Gauge128 actually semi-automatics are the best. dual-clutch transmissions are far better than manuals OR automatics. but imo, drag racing with a manual is more fun and takes more skill so it gets more appreciation than an auto.

  • @Gauge128 Top fuel cars don't have a conventional transmission at all. They have one gear that tops out at ~330mph and they slip the clutch all the way down the track.

  • @Gauge128 top fuel are manuals. and they are good for racing too. all depends on what you need it to do not saying autos aren't good for it but its all a matter of opinion.

  • @Gauge128 Fuel cars are neither manual nor automatic, they do run clutch packs tho, so...unfair comparison. A good comparison, Pro Stock. They are all about efficiency and whaddya know, they are 5-speed manuals.

Even faster, Top Alcohol funny cars...whaddya know, they are manually shifted 2 speeds. :)

  • @Gauge128 the lag proves its a manual and yeah your right automatics are nice for drag because they dont have and lag and have insane shift times but theyre only good for going in straight lines this guy could drag against the finest with this car and race on the oval track

  • @Gauge128 thats because not every one knows how to drive a standard off the line. so they go with automatics. so that they dont look like retards. standards offer more gear control. its common sense. more gear.. and more control. just because most people dont know how to use a clutch without spinning doesnt mean autos are better. thats just retarded. thats like saying that a ford focus is faster than a lambo just cause the person driving the lambo is 4 years old.

  • @clevebrowning1 Common sense would be that perhaps automatics have more consistent shift points and theres no possible chance of missing a gear.. It has nothing to do with "looking like a retard" its for people who want better track times. I have a T56 in my Iroc so i know the difference.

  • dude, you can't mis a gear.

    it's natural!

from 1th to 2nd, just pull the stick back with a slight left push, to move in 3rd, just push the stick forward, without actually grabbing the stick with your full hand.

a simple push with your pointing finger folded is enough, just don't have to use any force at all.

the stick always auto centers, between 3 and 4.

to get 5th gear, just push it forward from 4th with a slight right push, but without actually closing your hand or using force, you can't MISS

  • @naturalyshocked ITS NOT THE ACTUAL GEAR YOU MISS ITS THE CLUTCH TIMING I CAN NOW SEE THAT YOU HAVE NEVER RACED A CAR ANY WAY THIS HAPPENS TO THE BEST NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY @ LEAST ON THE 1/4 MILE WHILE TRYING TO SHIFT AS FAST AS POSSIBLE IS NECESSARY

  • @mauiboypoi i know, ive owned my 6 speed for 3. Caps lock dude

  • dude, i don't dop dragstrips, drag racing is for idiots, i race in between real traffic, have been doing it for more than 17 years and never caused an accident.

until 2 (before the point system) years ago, pretty much everyone did 100m/h on average on the highway.

going max speed in my car was daily stuff, i mean doing 230km/h+ untill you reach work or home.

  • @naturalyshocked sure your Michael Schumacher AND YOUR THE BEST DRIVER IN THE WORLD KNOW STOP BOTHERING AND FUCK OFF

  • dude, i'm used to roads where there are like 2 bends (totally blind corners) in less than 15 meters, so it's quite natural litle by litle you're going to squeez yourself a litle harder or the car on days you're irretated and like to speed.

so i rather compare myself to a rally driver, than a closed track driver

    : )

sure, @ some times you loose control, but braking with the left foot helps alot.

  • sure, you can fuck uop, hapens to everyone, but it also takes many years before you really know how to shift.

you just don't keep a fixed grab on the gear know and you can't fuck up, if you have a fixed grab, you fuck up.

i never have a fixed hand / grab on the knob, i only make hooks with my hand and pull or push gears, but with open hands, i never mess up.

my hand also never and never rests on the knob, but on my knee

  • @naturalyshocked i have only bean driving for 6 years but i know it did not take more than 6 months to fucking shift as fast as lightning and doing it good you i think your slow i was a expert shifter and clutch master by 6 months of driving i use to race all time i can say i was a bit better before cuz i use to race all the fucking time non stop street track any where i was young and you could say stupid but i never wreaked

  • @naturalyshocked- yea thats how you shift but you obviously haven't driven enough manual transmission cars to be saying that. there are some shift gates that when trying to be fast will hit the stop between the two gears causing you to have to try again.. my chevy truck for example.. the shifter is very long with an equally long throw and 3rd gear isn't where you think it should be. i've never missed a gear in my mustang with either the stock or pro 5.0 shifters

  • @mustangtech331 never owned a automatic car in my live and i have been driving almost 20 years.

you still own a car with a mechanical distrubuter, lol

    so hit-tech

  • @naturalyshocked you say that like its some kind of insult. why are you even commenting on this video if its not "hit-tech" enough for you. fuckin fag

  • unless you're a complete morom with fear from failing.

  • @naturalyshocked So to my understanding what your saying is that everyone else in the world that utilizes an automatic for daily commute is a "retard" .. ? I dont think were on the same planet because anyone and EVERYONE has missed/grind a gear, its not natural at all. Were not all born to drive 5/6 speed transmissions it comes with experience.

  • yes, sir.

in the Netherlands if you not capable of driving a manual, you request driving lessons in autobox and you will later have a stamp in your drivers license that forbids you driving manual cars.

so in short people that can't drive manual are retards.

  • @hyperlite341 everyone else in the world...the majority of the world drives manual trannies...the US is the only continent/country thats dominated by auto's

  • @shtdaprdtr figure of speech.

  • @shtdaprdtr YES THIS IS VERY TRUE THUMBS UP

  • @hyperlite341 IT TAKES ABOUT 1 MONTH TO BE A GOOD STICK DRIVER

  • @Gauge128

No offense, but a top fuel car doesn't even have a transmission. All they have is a multiple stage clutch (electronically controlled) that turns the rear end. In other words, there is absolutely no shifting in a Top Fuel car. All it does is slip the clutch at varying levels to try and avoid wheel spin. Even at the last 100ft mark, to little clutch slip will result in a 300mph burnout. Still doesn't change the fact that there isn't a transmission. And 6 people thumbed up you? LOL

  • @Chk6666S Very true but they definitely dont use manual's. The closest interpretation of how the power is converted to the wheels would be very much the same as an automatic transmission. Basically goes forward and adjusts the gearing for how much power will reach the tires without any manual input.

  • @xLuckydemonx

Thanks for chiming in on something you know nothing about. There is nothing close to an automatic transmission at work here. Please re-read what I wrote and learn what a multiple stage clutch is. Then learn how varying stages of this clutch can be applied at varying times. I repeat there is no transmission in a Top Fuel car. If you want to get close to a transmission type it would be a manual that is in 1:1 drive. (3rd gear usually) Not even close to how an automatic works.

  • @Chk6666S Uh It DOES have a transmission one speed forward and one speed reverse. and instead of a torque converter they use a clutch. :/

  • @Mathyoo0179

No it doesn't. It uses a reversing electric motor.

Directly from the homepage of NHRA(dot)com: "Funny Cars are also similar to Top Fuel dragsters in that they DO NOT use a transmission but rather transmit power to the huge Goodyear rear slicks through a multistage clutch assembly that is activated by timers."

  • @Chk6666S A Top Fueller does not control the clutch electronically, it's all mechanical. As you said it locks up the clutch more and more as the dragster goes further down the track. Many times the dragster will not even have the clutch fully locked up at the stripe, it's still slipping.

  • @MmeDesgranges

    @MmeDesgranges

I suggest researching Top Fuel cars again.

There are 6 clutch discs in a Top Fuel car. The multistage clutch is electronically timed to progressively lock up (increase clutch %) during the run. This is not controlled by the driver with a mechanical lever or pedal. It is all done ELECTRONICALLY.

  • @Chk6666S I wasn't suggesting the driver mechanically operates the clutch! I was suggesting there are no electronics involved in how the multistage clutch operates.

  • @MmeDesgranges

Wow. If you would read your own post you sent me as a message it talks about the ELECTRONIC timing system. Here's a picture of the clutch timing system's digital / electronic regulator :

    h.t.t.p://w.w.w.electrimotion.(com}/Clutch%20Pressure%20regulator%20Instructions.pdf

Do you finally get it now?

  • @Chk6666S You realize all those clutch plates are located inside the TRANSMISSION right?

  • @EliteLX

Kinda hard for all those clutch plates to be inside of a TRANSMISSION that isn't there. Why do people like you comment on shit you know nothing about?

Directly from NHRA (I suggest reading it) "Funny Cars are also similar to Top Fuel dragsters in that they DO NOT use a TRANSMISSION but rather transmit power to the huge Goodyear rear slicks through a multistage clutch assembly that is activated by timers.

So please, go comment on something else you know nothing about.

  • @Chk6666S says the guy with no car....

  • @EliteLX

Wrong again. Go cry somewhere else.

  • @Chk6666S Was that your pathetic attempt at a re-troll? LOL

  • @EliteLX

Don't get soo upset. I know it's embarrassing to be made to look like a fool. Next time, maybe you'll try to know what you're talking about before commenting.

You'll be ok though. I'm sure your misdirectional comments are just you're way of saying "I'm sorry I was wrong".

    Good day.

  • @Chk6666S Cool story bro.

  • @Chk6666S Quick question man. What about funny cars? Do they have Transmission?

  • @AdrenalineJunky17 Lenco's. Very cool tranny's.

  • @Chk6666S ur dumb no transmision really ??? WTF!!! then were does the clutch goes ?? u can fool somebody that dosent know anything about cars lmao

  • lol, i'm not even american and have never seen a dragrace, but i do know the topfuel dragsters have manual gearboxes.

they use neumatic systems to apply clutch and gears, yet some pull levers to switch gears, but certainly have neumatic driven clutches.

not bad for some guy from Holland.

    : )

i don't think a torque converter can handle 6000/8000 hp, it would wipe the vanes off.

  • @Gauge128 I highly disagree. I've seen so many MTs pull away faster than ATs.

  • @Gauge128 My personal opinion is that real drag racing is with manual transmissions. Takes more skill hands down. Makes it more fair

  • @VicLS9898

I'd agree it takes more skill but why do it just because of that? Driving with your knee takes some skill but I dont see drag racers trying that out.Two cars one with a manual transmission and one with a transbrake, manual valve body, and ratchet shifter which would be easier and faster down the track. Much rather use a manual transmission myself but if it came down to a drag race (with money on the line) I know what I would choose.

  • @Kadorja True but the point i want to make is that racing should involve the driver skill and the performance of the car. Automatics get away with "press and go". Slam the pedal and keep it strait.

  • @Gauge128 A top fuel car is just as sissy as an automatic, slip the clutch the whole way, woopeee,

Bleeder free stick shifts all the way dude

  • sounds like 800 hp inthathood

  • Hit them gears in that fox!

  • My '71 Ford is a 3 on the tree. (Ford 3.03) I consider it theft protection. Most people dont even know what a 3 on the tree is, let alone how to operate one.

    Automatic transmissions piss me off.

  • @papabugs71 - I drove an Old Ford pickup with 3 on the tree. Took a little while to get use to but once i got the hang of it its actually pretty fun to drive.

  • @papabugs71 1st is towards you and down, second is away from you and up and third is away from you and down=] looks like someones investing in a new anti theft system for their truck

  • @reap62 You so bad.

  • @papabugs71 Cool story bro.

  • @Twinturbo120 hes not your brother you dumb wigger

  • @Runkleforskin I'm not a wigger you fucking dick sucking asshole.

  • @Twinturbo120 ok you spigger, wetback homeboy piece of shit.

  • @Runkleforskin At least wetbacks don't sit on their ass all day like you. But whatever, just stfu already.

  • @Twinturbo120 go back to the taco fields boy, pluck us americans some more burritos you dicksmack

  • @Twinturbo120 Cool meme bro

  • it is an auto its a throw shifter theres no clutch

  • autos aren't for sissy's, they are best for drag racing manual transmission is fun for streets but isnt good for drag racing

  • @XxMusclecarsxX whats the point of drag racing then? its about reaction time and skill, its not all about who can build a bigger engine, you sicken me, oh one more thing your right autos aren't for sissy's they are for ricers and pussies like you .

  • holy shit.! how tha fuck is that possible.!!? hahah sick shifting dude.

  • nice mustang 5.0 you git there

  • automatics are used for real drag racers... they shift perfectly where u need them they dnt miss shifts... but there used in high horsepower cars...

  • oh yea this isnt a auto lol never mind i was gonna say that sit is crazy haha

  • wish i had a 6000 rpm stall speed lol damn

  • damn son

  • Insane Shifting... more a insane transmission... wtf with ppl lol

  • That was pretty fast. But I think a bad idea to put it in neutral at the end when slowing down.

  • @adogg619 Why is putting it in neutral a bad idea? So he can possibly over-rev the engine while down-shifting? Put unnecessary stress on the engine and transmission?

  • @brianchris4

I didn't say he should downshift. What I meant was just leave it in the last gear he was in, which would be 4th in this case. That's what I do when I slow down. Leave it in gear, brake, then before I come to a complete stop, clutch in and shift to neutral.

  • @adogg619 Dude when you have that much power and toque and at reline, you don't want to let off. If this was a cog driven procharged car for instance, if he were to let off like that at the end he could snap the key-way on the crank.. this is a drag car.. not a street car, or roadcoarse car.. you are talking nonsense.

  • @brianchris4

    "unnecessary stress"?

Do you realize how much horseshit that is?

Do you fully comprehend that the car is using those same exact components to SPEED UP with over 10x more stress than if you leave it in gear to slow down?

    Fucking a...

It's like people telling you to never leave standard car in gear when parking cus it can damage the transmission... LOL

Parking strain on a transmission, lets make it a 1. Acceleration strain at full throttle will be a comparable 2000.

    Plox2logic.

  • Damn that was fuckn bad ass!

  • That fox is movin. WOW

  • If this is an automatic and he has to take his right hand off the steering wheel and put it on the shift knob to feel badass than that's just sad. But it sounds like a sequential shifter kinda...

  • @mirwais69

Why would a fox reach for the grapes when it doesn't eat them?

Thats one retarted fox and so was your

    comment! LOL

  • damn

  • Have you heard of the story of the fox who could not reach the grapes? If you are a MAN.. make a Mercedes.. fuck mustang.. a trained monkey can make that shit !!!!! So fuck off.. amautre !!

  • A Mercedes benz isn't a sports car, it's a luxury GT. I drive a Nissan, but I'd rather own a Mustang than some automatic freight train on wheels.

  • his speedo doesnt work :(

  • COULD BE A CLUTCHLESS SHIFTER.

  • Then again AMG has had to molest the engine for you to talk shit.....
