I need a Herbst, my ortho. said he uses one half the size than it actually is, and I wanted to know some things please:

does it change your cheeks? like does it make them chubbier or something?

do you get a lisp or something?

when you eat, how do you eat well? like it moves your jaw forward like forces it, so how do you chew?

can you chew gum?

@zac0964 it makes ur cheeks poke out tiny bit but no one really notices. and u have a lisp when u first get it because your not used to your maouth being in that position. when i first got it i could not eat anything and it was hard to swallow but after two weeks its easier. and having the herbst is like an extra set of teeth so its easier than not having it when your used to it and yes u can chew gum but it can get stuck in the back but you can get it out but your really not supposed to.

@followyodreamz13 Thanks so much! I was thinking the gum would get in the piston thingy haha, do you think you can get it on with braces on the bottom? because the metal thing is on the back part? How long did it take to get used to it? Thanks a lot for answering, I really appreciate it. :D

@zac0964 no you cant get it with braces because the metal is in the way and it took me 2 or 3 weeks to get fully used to it mainly that depends on how bad of an over bite you have because whenever your top and bottom jaw touch you can chew better again
