I have a version on my iPod that sounds almost exactly like this except with more instrumentation. I have no idea where that version came from. Does anyone have an idea?
@akeel456 I checked and it is not the version from Past Masters. To the ear, it seems to be the exact same speed as this, and in fact the exact same recording except with more instrumentation. I've never heard it anywhere else and I'm still totally perplexed.
@cubfan369 Well the only released variations are the Past Masters, Let It Be, Let It Be... Naked and Anthology 2 versions. I reckon it's the original Let It Be version you're referring to, since it's the most common and the vocals are quite similar to the untrained ear.
@Deathsquad49 Many people including McCartney had actually hated the editing done by Phil Spector which is called the Wall of Sound technique seeing how some songs had choirs and orchestras and other things. So what this album is remove all of the editing to its most raw form which is why it is called "Let It Be... Naked"
OMG! It sounds waaaaay better than the original version of the song! I prefer this one obviously, although it's the same song, it sounds much cleaner!!!!!! THANK U 4 SHARING!!! :D
@ruukaoz Probably better it stuck with the Let it Be name - the album the Beatles originally intended as 'Get Back' never saw the light of day - there is a "Glyn Johns final masters" bootleg a friend gave me which is as close as it gets to what could have been the "Get Back" album .. no Phil Spector, and no historical revisionism. I like Let it Be...Naked, but it now makes it a more polished album and not the live performance driven album they originally were shooting for.
This is my favorite version of this song too, the version of Let it Be is a bit slow and the one in Past Masters is faster, this version is in the original speed... and without a doubt is the best.

@cubfan369 Is it possibly the version from Past Masters? If it's slower than this, it'll be the version from the original Let It Be album.

this album should have been named Get Back as it was originally intended back before 70.
