  • they way they fade out with the title track was such a creative stroke of fcking genious.

  • This song isn't long enough..But its still the best use of 5:37 in any song to date.

  • This song is so underrated, it blows my mind.

  • Paul was the first one to recieve the Polar Music award.Paul did not come to recieve it (from the hands of his Majesty The King as the rules stipulate),Bob Dylan,Led Zeppelin,Patti Smith and others came.As did a lot of Jazz and other musicians who have won ,so please let one who has done so much to make lives better by music and by all he has done secretly, and publically, and has changed the music in so many directions get the Prize 2012.Carlos Santana. From Tijuana toW

  • Paul is timeless. He is like a clock with infinite numbers.Just see him live, and listen to what he did some almost 50 years ago...,the same quality, the same impeccable quality be it on an old unedited tape from the 1960 or the finnish sauna in 2011,the dittttto in cavern or the openair befofore 180.000 in Brazil...Paul Mc Cartney ,Sir ,is the best ever ,most influential musician of the last century, and hopefully this too.He won the first Nobel Prize in music,

  • a beatle is a beatle

  • This is just as good as any Beatles song IMO

  • 13424 + 6 =

  • he's a genius

  • best song ever

  • paul did this at his echo arena concert fantastic

  • I wasn't born in 1985 but I fuckin' love this song :D

  • Love the fact Charles Bronson and Christopher Lee are on the album cover.

  • @2ndQuarto1 That is James Coburn, not Charles Bronson, although they are frequently mistaken for each other. Hello to a fellow "Wings" fan !! I think that this is the best album Paul McCartney ever made. Have an awesome week !!

  • @fab4fan4ever64 I don't think anybody would mistake James Coburn for Charles Bronson. Maybe they would mistake James Coburn and Lee Marvin. They at least sort of look a bit like each other.

  • @BadRaspberriesFinger Alot of people post that they think that it is Charles Bronson. I was attempting to correct the person in a kind way... But you can always go the other way, like you did.... Hello to a fellow Paul McCartney fan !!

  • So incredible

  • I bought the remastered Vinyl as soon as it went on sale. I love this song.

  • This is one of Paulie's more underrated songs. I remember the first time I heard it in the actual year of 1985. I was on a city bus in Houston listening to it on my walkman. On the route there was a long, dark tunnel on North Main, and it was weird hearing this song as you entered the tunnel. I'll never forget that. It was February 1985.

  • @smilinstevie88 You mean When I get to the bottom I go back to the top of the slide...

ooooh I ooooh I crazy piano amazing end Love it

  • I remember hearing this when it first came out and, for some reason, it gave me the creeps. Of course, I was only about 11 at the time.

  • π + 31 στρεψις .

  • Trigger Happy TV Fat Guys :)

  • @GlitchygamerzLC thought i recognised it from somewhere!

  • Awesome shit is this, just awesome!

  • Paul Mc`s music post The Beatles is just as good as the Mop Tops

  • In 1974 I spent my summer in India before internet or anything resembling modern communications existed., This was the B side of Band on the Run and I listened to this endlessly. He played it at Yankee Stadium the 1st of his 2 nifghts there in Aug 2011 . It saved me when I was 10 yrs old and was the the highlight of the show for me

  • i hear that song every night at the disco near my house late 70 s i found that vinyl before 3 years in the garbage when i work there this song stuck in my soul god save us [a thrue story of my life pipis patra john paps disco

  • WONDERFUL WONDERFUL PAUL.

Dude this guy...His music....God damn it. It's too awesome.

  • What makes it all the more awesome is that the album has a bookmark ending, this is the last song on the original album and i love the way that it ends on the words band on the run.brilliant

  • @RockNRollOverDose

Im a cat i say woff.

  • I've heard a lot of people say that La Roux owes royalties to Dead or Alive for lifting "Round 'n Round." In truth, La Roux owes money to Paul because the verse is "Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five."

  • 100%Totally outrageus groovy!

  • Great track, greater album.

  • I always wished that the Band On The Run reprise at the end of this tune lasted longer, and later, when I heard about the 'missing' verse to the original BOTR song, I wish it had been included here too.

  • LOL I'll never forget this song! I was in the house when my husband came running in from his car, and said, "I just heard this song that sounds like Paul McCartney? And it ended with Band On The Run? " I said it is McCartney, and that awesome song you just heard is Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five. The look on his face was priceless! :) :) Thanks for everything Paul! ♥♥♥

  • Sometimes it seems to me this song, in its concluding part, anticipated Vangelis in its Blade Runner soundtrack, even here the conluding part

  • Yet another unforgettable bass line by the master...

  • I loved it then and still love it now

  • The only post-beatles paul song my mom liked

  • @GhettoBlaster100 fuck your mom

  • @em2y1027 simmer down

  • Why is there a snippet from the song "Band on the Run" at the end?

  • @RoboticDestruction It's the last song on the "Band On The Run" album which was sort of a concept album...

  • @RoboticDestruction cause thats how the song is done, quit bein a douchebag

  • @em2y1027 Did you not read the previous comments? It was answered in greater detail a day ago

  • @RoboticDestruction

Because Paul is a genius composer

  • @ASR10MAN ha ha ha.

  • @RoboticDestruction Go listen to Lady Gaga!

  • @Yellowjjacket Go listen to Jedward. Don't think you can persuade me that easily

  • @RoboticDestruction NO. AND I DON'T CARE.

  • @Yellowjjacket If you won't listen to Jedward or shape up it's block.

  • "¡Esta noche, en Duro de domar!"

  • It would be ironic if the some was made in like 1984

  • @DannyGlumsPhan you mean rolling in the deep sounds like this....not really feeling it tho...

  • Dear Paul McCartney, you sir are a beast.

  • This song is just so fucking awesome

  • @IcoverRadiohead - This song, and, album, "ARE" so very much awesome!! :)

But...tell me, my friend...what was in the heads of the 22 "individuals" (INTELLECTUALS??) who so graciously found it in their (empty hearts - and, HEADS) to 'click' on 'dislike' for this AMAZING tune!!

This song and album will stand the test of time; and, are icons that will live on till man is no more; and, some 'being' from another planet hears, and, enjoys it - ALL OVER AGAIN!! :)!

  • Haha. My Mom says "Shake it, don't break it!" all the time! Didn't realize she got it from a Wings song!

  • Eiki Helgason first brought me here in 2009... now I'm back

  • This song could have been released this year. That's how relevant/timeless it is.

  • @CVargas That's how most of his stuff is...timelessness is what defines a good artist.

  • Paul is playing this amazing song in his present tour. This means he feels in great shape, to me

  • I love this song....

  • Long before Bowling For Soup looked back to 1985, Paul McCartney looked forward to that year.

  • i have been in love with this song since i was eight years old! thanks for posting it!

  • @Youkickmydog1988 Well I guess you have really good taste. Love McCartney and Trigger Happy Tv brightens my day

  • FUCKING AMAIZING, LOVE THIS SONG.

  • Classic rock FTW!

  • seeing Paul live in December :D

  • There is no band called"Paul McCartney & Wings"There was however a band called,"Wings".

  • @selenagomez734 : Actually, Paul McCartney's band Wings was known by both group names "Paul McCartney & Wings" and "Wings". In 1973, on the Red Rose Speedway album, the band is credited by name as Paul McCartney and Wings. Some of their 45 singles credit them as Paul McCartney & Wings (like the Junior's Farm single, Band On The Run single, etc.) and some of their singles were just credited as Wings. Not sure why one or the other name wasn't used constantly.

  • @amb2745 cuz they didn't worry so much about stupid shit like that back then ;-)

  • Throw everthing theme ye got on totally open and express with the steam rolling out over this song.100 people are doing this.

  • .. a better question is .. did Paul ever write bad songs ...

  • 'Scuse the language but...Fuck you trolls! This is awesome! Always has been - always will be..

  • This was my favorite from the Band on the Run Macca album. He recently did a cover of this song in one of his recent concerts.

  • @Youkickmydog1988 I shove furniture up my ass

  • @Youkickmydog1988 shut up pussy

  • Reminds me of Hey Bulldog, with the thick bass and the old school piano vibe.

  • fabuloso por siempre paul.

  • This song is great, I ment to say hear not here

  • Does anbody else think of the movie Role Models when you here the band name of Wings.

  • My God, what a time this song takes me back to....I was 18, working my first job and working with some of the greatest people in the world. Including the prettiest and nicest girl EVER. Actually ran across a pic of her, me and my boss on a website months ago from 1976.....about chit my pants!!! Missing all of them and wondering where the hell the time went!

  • Thank God, I was born listening to a genius of rock music.

  • I brought me here, because this song is fucking great.

  • @Shwaggetyshfifty STOP SAYING FUCK YOU FUCKING FUCK

  • @dlechler1 TITS

  • pffft Noel Gallagher is a moron. He shouldn't even be mentioned in the same section as anything 'McCartney.'

  • @TheRoxy6 Shut up pussy

  • @dlechler1 LOL fuck you

  • Whenever i play guitar/bass alone, i tend to write very melodic songs, with more emphasis on the sound, not the lyrics. It sounds like thats what Paul did with a lot of his solo work. Shame i cant write anything this epic though. Thanks for inspiring me to be a musician, Paul!

  • @Floridaboy7777 shut up pussy

  • Pual & the Wings are awesome!

  • @blkpopeye Wow Pual and the Wings. hahahahah your a jackass

  • i rememberhaving this 45 as a child and on the flipside was "band on the run" it was a great time in music history. love the 70s stuff......

  • Awesomeness brought me here.

  • walked past a cafe and heard the end of this song,, and i was like,, Shit!! i havent heard this song in AGES!!!

  • This album/CD is worth the price of 10. The thing is a materpiece

  • 懐かしいなあ

    中学生の時、このLP擦り切れるほど聴いたよ

  • has a GREAT beat - excellent song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! then again - band on the run is also awesome!

  • I'm so in love with this song, I can't stop listening to it.

  • I am Belgian, i live in Japan and, recently, i heard that song in a bar in Los Angeles. I ran to a record shop to buy that album in CD (God knows where i put the original i had when i was child...). And i could confirm something: in Belgium, USA or Japan, this song is everywhere at home.

  • Uhh

My radio brought me here! o:

  • @siladel I have a bonner

  • @dlechler1 Oh, good for you.

  • I remember when 1985 was so far off in the future. Now its so long ago.

  • Never seen candy apple blue. Seen candy apple red.

  • Noel Gallagher's thumbs up for the song in Mojo brought me here!

  • @cozener1 Noel Gallagher's great. I hadn't listen to this song in a while and he brought me back to the song.

  • Bought this cd and listened to it throughout the 1990's, when the beatles and wings were already long gone. But it played well alongside all the other great bands of the day. Love the way this last song on thew album closes with an excerpt of 'band on the run'. It playes like a great film or a long life that ends a little like the beginning.

  • As much as I love this song, and I do do do, I think it goes on at least a minute too long. "Pretentious" is a word I refuse to use here. I think McC was after the "closure" effect, and I won't condemn it.

  • @toopoable yeah its the last song on the album so I think he wanted it to go out with a bang.

  • Great song. Brings back alot of memories

  • Saw him in Cincinnati. Best night of my life. Im only 14 and I absolutly love The Beatles and The Wings.

  • I'm learning piano because of this song. Hello to everyone who remembers when music was made by true artists. :-) oooh oooh ooooooooh

  • wouldve been a Beatles song if.....Yoko wasnt born?

  • Just a great song,I can't stop my leg!

  • Just a great song....I can't stop my leg!

  • What's this song supposed to be about?

  • @mcc05900 About Paul's love for linda. Nobody will ever replace her. Nobody will ever be better than her. It doesn't matter what women the future brings to Paul. She is what he wants.

  • @stampede331

    You are a special person.

  • @toopoable Have no idea what this is supposed to mean. I was clarifying the song's lyrics for somebody who did not understand the message of this song.

  • Own the record :)

  • @hellogoodbye753 Haha, I'll trade for "At The Speed of Sound" ;D

  • Twinkie Coleman?

  • i saw him in chicago both dayss :D .. i feel luckyy

  • hey paul, pass that sweet stuff over here buddy!

  • who the hell sing this?

  • @oiergasdn paul mccartney

  • My favourite piece of music that Paul ever recorded.

Still stands the test of time nearly 40 years later and has the best climax to a record EVER!

What a talent that genius had. I have had the honour and privilege of seeing Macca in Concert three times.

  • I won tickets to Wings over America for the Tucson show on June 18, 1976. The radio station played this song fast and we had to guess what it was. I did. My parents would not take me to Tucson (I live in Phx) I had a fab Aunt Jewell who did.We had a blast. I remember I couldn't believe I was in the same building. I love this song and it always holds a place in my heart. I love Paul's music so much. I could go on, but we all know. Even my kids like him.

  • one of the set pieces of a great album..luv the cover, especially CHRISTOPHER LEE on it....MCCARTNEY, uses the synthesizer smartly on a number of songs here..a lot of great music from the decade of the 70's..the STONES..PINK FLOYD..ROXY MUSIC..BOWIE..ALLMAN BROS. and many more..a lot of the "experts" say this was MCCARTNEY'S best...

  • This song was great in Cincinnati. This song alone makes me want to learn how to play a piano.

  • @NGTravis If it encourages you: this song is really easy to learn on piano! :)

  • Do you know what its like to see Sir Paul McCartney live?! I sat row 1 front and center yankee stadium! When he played this song I started bawling my eyes out! PAUL MCCARTNEY LOOKED AT ME! I couldnt stop crying during the whole show! its SOOOO over welming. SO MUCH to take in, in so little time.

  • @Hockeyplaya4567890 Thanks for sharing that. I think that the same thing would likely happen to me... Hello to a fellow Paul McCartney fan !! All You Need Is Love !!

  • Yes! Just taught myself how to play this

  • my most favorite song on the album!

  • I just saw Paul in Cincinnati on Thursday as well. What an awesome show...crowd went wild when he sat at his baby grand piano and played this!! Amazing three hour long performance!!

  • @Lonesomeswan That's good.

  • just saw paul at Cincinnati and when he played this song i nearly shit my pants ( of course every song he played i did the same thing but it was still cool)

  • @Lonesomeswan Music is my life. And I'm not one to stay quiet while someone fuckin' kills music. Sorry if you chose to be offended.

  • @daftpunk3494 rage.... PS .. i agree

  • I love Paul McCartney :))))

  • I fucking love this song!!

  • Haha the guy below me makes me laugh sooo much. Pssh I don't think Paul cares or knows anything about Justin Beiber and why should he? Idk how he could be jealous since Paul did most of his song writing 3 decades before Beiber was even alive. Hahaha funny delusional people.

  • @xoxobieberrfannxoxo i listen to classic rock, heavy metal . and death metal...there all real musics. Justin Beaver is on a total fuckin massacre of what is today's "music"... i have trouble calling that soulless rambling from a kid with a ballgina music. shame on you. find real music not fake shit. oh PS if you want a good band with a lead singer with a high voice check out this song called "breadfan" by Budgie if you have any soul you will like it.. i promise .

  • I heard a few bars of this song today on Mark and brian . They used it a s a "bumper" coming back from the break I wasn't sure of the name or who the artist was ( I know , how could I not recognize Paul Mcartney huh ?) but it's so catchy and familiar I had to hear it in it's entirety so I just typed in the few words I could recall and it just popped up . Thanks Youtube !
