Common misconception, "aid" is the problem. Trade is the solution. Aid is not only big business for the "donor" (read: exploiter) nation, up to 90% of the publicly stated "foreign aid" is actually retained with the donor nation's institutions/organizations. Aid creates cycle of dependency. African governments that reject it are corrupted or asssasinated to keep the cycle going, the corrupted ones are given millions in Swiss bank accounts. Tiny % reaches the people. Trade not Aid.

China's pushing so much money that way because they stand to gain billions in profit back. From the last time I visited two African nations it was flooded with so much inferior Chinese goods. Lots of cell phones with no IMEI numbers all made in China. Chinese plastic products all over. It was even ridiculous.

I don't think Chinese people hate Americans. There will always be friction between the two sides due to direct competition and ideological differences, just as the U.S. and EU have their differences, as shown by many Americans are treated rudely when touring Europe. I'm not aware of the "mixed girl" incidence. China is sort of a homogeneous society, though there are 56 different ethnicities. So perhaps people are not used to interracial marriage.

You say facts are facts, but all you give is hearsay and opinion. The FACT is, Chinese population in Africa is growing, and African population in China is also growth. More growth will only build mutual understanding and friendship.

The Chinese model is simple. The Africans know exactly what the Chinese are after: African resources and markets. If Africans do not like the card dealt to them by the Chinese, they would have flocked back to the Europeans a long time ago.

Omar Al Bashir is a criminal who needs to be in jail right now. Over 150,000 Sudanese have been murdered by Arab militias and he sits and watches like nothing is going on. And yet HU supports him ? Agreed. The second they pulled their power over the colonies, they simply left the countries to struggle for themselves. People complain about China because they are afraid of it..people are afraid of what they don't know, and Americans put everything that isn't Democracy into Communism it's pathetic. I really do hope that Africa can rise up out of third-world status and become a country we all can be proud of.

I hope Africa will become strong and sustainable one day. It's really a shame that one of the world's oldest civilizations are currently the least developed out of all the continents. I think playing hard with dictators is counterproductive, just look at North Korean. This is because they will never directly suffer due to sanctions. Plus, none of the sanctions are ever strictly enforced. Very much all talk, no action. So I'm glad China is INVESTING in Africa.

I especially like the fact that they are building infrastructures, building schools and hospitals. It's necessary to focus on the basics before talking about democracy, which has different forms, depends on how you look at it. Generally, common people wants to live a good life and democracy doesn't necessary equate to a good life. Just look at Afghanistan. People got to vote, so what, still fearing for their lives everyday and with no food to eat. That's not the democracy people want.

Democratic communism is the sistem were all are treated equal on general needs, no mater who you are and what is you're material condition, but the leadership changes on a 4 years cycle. It is not perfect but Africa needs it bad.

Don't like capitalism, sounds like swim or sink, no matter who you are. Natzy Germany had a strong capitalist sistem, and fascist Italy.
