Hi, I did my tongue piercing in November 2010 and did not had any problems ever since. But about a 2 months ago, it started to hurt around the bottom part of the piercing and i got a small lump. So i took out the piercing for a day and put it back on and it stopped hurting. Now it started to hurt again in the same place... Its like I have a hoop of skin around my bottom part of the piercing... What should i do?
i started growing "SKIN" on the top of my piercing (infront of the lil ball) when i brush my tounge it will come off, but it grows back. Is this normal? Alot of people say its weird and theyve never got that. Please Help
i just changed my tongue stud to another shorter bar with plastic ball ends? what other kinds of studs would be best for my tongue and my teeth, but also look good. thanks. :)

In most cases the swelling will go down in 1 to 2 weeks. Eat lots of ice and cold things. Stay away from spicy food for the first week. In some other cases the swelling will go down and it will be normal. Try moving your tongue alot to get the blood flowing for the swelling to go down. And try to get an over the counter medicine such as advil inflammatory. It will take the swelling down some if u take it every four to eight hours.

i just got my tongue repierced and the last time i had it done it hurt REALLY bad and it took about a month to heal this time i barely felt it and the pain isnt really that bad i was doing everything the person at the tattoo place said to do i was just thinking is there a corrolation between the 1st time its pierced and the 2+ time

me too and well, i got it two days ago. right after that, i was with a friend, we went to get her 'stuff' and we smoked an hour after i got it (1), then in like, two hours, we went to my friends house, where we smoked almost 10gs.... i smoked multiple times since that, im a heavy stoner myself, but its fine, its all normal, getting better, etc. ANYWAY: if you CLEAN it properly AFTER YOU SMOKE, you're ALL GOOD. :)

Hey, is it normal for it to swell and hurt after you pierced your tongue? Because I pierced it less than 24 hours ago and I have trouble sleeping due to the pain. Mouth keeps drying up too. Help, anyone?
@LynnieRawr i used orajel numbing on my tongue and helped alot. cold gatorade helps too. mine swelled up to where i sounded like a 2 year old trying to talk in full sentences. and ibuprofen helps alot! :D
@LynnieRawr Yes it is normal, I got mine pierced 3 days ago, the swelling can take up to a week to go down, drink cold drinks, ice cream, soft foods, and take some anti-swelling tablets.
yeah 14g is the usually the thinkness of the bar...and the length of it i think is always the same, the reason you have a longer bar is because it gives your tongue room to swell...also there are like retainers to hide the piercing but to be honest if you only had it for a week you shouldnt put a retainer in because they usually fight snug...dont want that on a week old "wound" you could use clear balls :D it will still be visible but anything works..good luck
If you could get more (No Ce-Um half ball Tongue Retainers ) in to your store i have to buy one before i go back to school. I am going out tomorrow to get my Tongue pierced and i have to have one because if i go back to school and they would see my new piercing they would make me take it out and that is not cool.

@TheTaniaMelendez no its not swollen anymore. i plan on getting a shorter bar but things came up and my piercer charges to change to a shorter bar. i have the balls though so i just wanted to change the bottom because of what you said about the damage to the gum.

BTW this isnt my video lol i'm just another youtuber.....you should wait atlest another week though....go to spencers or Claires..anywhere where they sell tongue rings...and buy a some haha make sure you clean it with mouthwash before you put it in though :D i hope it works out for you

So I got mine pierced on friday, and yesterday I noticed my tongue has like a white coating? It starts just to the back of my piercing and goes all the way back. i have been cleaning with alcohol free listerine after every meal and sometimes sea salt water, and have been doing pretty much everything to make sure i dont get an infection...
@IxTeejxI it shouldnt be infected sometimes you could be using too much mouthwash or if you dont brush your tongue very well...my had a white coat too because i was too scared to brush my tongue but now thats its healed i can brush it and its back to pink :)

it´s not true what you say about cleanyour mouth with mouthwater, you just need to clean your tongue with boiled water with salt, ( let it cool of) the mouthwater kills also bacteries that help your body to heal the wounth! so its not good! And only 2 times a day.

I just got my tongue pierced Friday (4 days ago) and I have been looking online, and with what you have said, plus my piercer, i'm not sure which to do. As far as changing it for the first time, he said 6 weeks, you said two. I know you're meaning to downsize. Can i change to an acrylic, cute ball after the two weeks when I also downsize? Or do I need to stick with a metal downsize, then after 6 weeks change to one I want?
I got mine done yesterday for my birthday im 19 by the way lol and my tongue is a little swollen but not enough to where it hurts. I woke up with a small amount of blood but my piercer said this is normal. @Farfethd like negative 1. trust me. I just got mine done a week ago. it does not hurt because we only have nerves on the outside of our tongues, and not on the inside. so you barely feel anything! Just take some extra strenght ibuprofen about 3 times a day for the first few days :)
yeah my piercer said dairy was ok just nothing with yeast lol. i thought i couldnt have dairy either but he said it was ok. im still a little scared tho cuz everyone says no dairy./:
If you are thinking about getting your tongue pierced....JUST DO IT! I got mine done yesterday with my best friend and It does not hurt at all! Seriously...the pressure of the clamps take away the sting of the needle. The clamps hurt way more. As for the lisp thing, Just take it easy for a few days. Try not to talk too much. It's worth it :)
Its been 2weeks and 1 day i guess ? And , i still have yellow puss or smth around my tongue . But for me , its not even pain during the healing process . Is the yellow puss normal ? I wash it with seasalt and toothbrush and it goes away . But sometimes it will come back :(

you can eat/drink and type of dairy products after its healed enough, which is 2 weeks after you get the piercing :)

it´s not true what you say about cleanyour mouth with mouthwater, you just need to clean your tongue with boiled water with salt, ( let it cool of) the mouthwater kills also bacteries that help your body to heal the wounth! so its not good! And only 2 times a day.

I just got my tongue pierced Friday (4 days ago) and I have been looking online, and with what you have said, plus my piercer, i'm not sure which to do. As far as changing it for the first time, he said 6 weeks, you said two. I know you're meaning to downsize. Can i change to an acrylic, cute ball after the two weeks when I also downsize? Or do I need to stick with a metal downsize, then after 6 weeks change to one I want?

I got mine done yesterday for my birthday im 19 by the way lol and my tongue is a little swollen but not enough to where it hurts. I woke up with a small amount of blood but my piercer said this is normal. Any tips to help with the swelling other than ibuprofen I dont take any kind of pills or OTC drugs or smoke drink etc. any tips would be really appreciated:) thank you in advance

@Farfethd like negative 1. trust me. I just got mine done a week ago. it does not hurt because we only have nerves on the outside of our tongues, and not on the inside. so you barely feel anything! Just take some extra strenght ibuprofen about 3 times a day for the first few days :)

If you are thinking about getting your tongue pierced....JUST DO IT! I got mine done yesterday with my best friend and It does not hurt at all! Seriously...the pressure of the clamps take away the sting of the needle. The clamps hurt way more. As for the lisp thing, Just take it easy for a few days. Try not to talk too much. It's worth it :)

Its been 2weeks and 1 day i guess ? And , i still have yellow puss or smth around my tongue . But for me , its not even pain during the healing process . Is the yellow puss normal ? I wash it with seasalt and toothbrush and it goes away . But sometimes it will come back :(

It hurts less than cartilage and you dont keep the lisp once its healed. If you watch my videos and do what they say it wont get infected.
