  • your ment to use long forcepps

  • Comment removed

  • fish killer

  • Truly bad angling , is it the first one you,ve caught !

  • i caught a 21 inch northern once but i usually go for large mouth.. biggest ever was 18 inches.. had a big fat guy on once.. i saw him on shore and my fucking line snapped.. worst day of my life lol.. nice fish though.. you use braided with a steel leader?

  • @andyscape my biggest pike was 32 inches

  • if you were letting that fish go you hurt its chances when you layed it on your seat,it lost alot of its slime off its body.If it died just clean it

  • 40 inches my as

  • ok nice fish but jesus, take anymore time trying to release it? pike need water, as do musky. get it in the water ffs.

  • northern are super tough fish they can handle being out of the water just fine

  • man try catching a 21 foot lake sturgeon! fricking hardcore!

  • a 21 foot lake sturgeon?? are you retarded???? world record is like 11 feet...

  • video sucks!

  • I was very dissapointed to see the fish suffering. debarb the treble hook and you will still catch just as many but release them much much quicker and without overly distressing the fish.

  • dude its a fish we eat that shit

  • we finnish watch the weight and the size

  • i didn't know that americans look at the size of the fish rather than how much it weighs (lb)

  • Nice fish! My 10 year old daughter just caught her first fish this week, a 24.5 inch pike from the UP in Michigan. We are really proud of her!

  • thats not that amazing! when u use a lure with trouble hooks u cant use a net.

  • why not?

  • because right when you net the northern pike and lift it out of the water it starts twisting and floping all over and the hooks get stuck in the net so it takes 10-20+ mins. to get it out. so long story short u most likaly kill the fish and are pissed at everyone else in the boat. lol.

  • if you just cut the hooks off the lure it takes 5 mins to replace also you just hold the line straight up dont let the hooks get the net buy a rubbrt net it works great

  • ya but we use 8 pound line so it will snap. and yes were getting a rubber net haha.

  • nice catch but man if u werent luck which u were that pike wouldve bit the meat outta yr hand

  • too many softies commenting. Nice fish

  • No doubt who says they never kept it you know people do take fish home half these people are fuckin stupid

  • I grab norther bare handed all the time.

  • nice catch!

  • Total retards at work, especially one with French Foreign Legion headgear

"Laurel and Hardy" would have been better as to releasing fish humanely

    -you aint got a clue

  • Complete idiots at work, including one with French Foreign legion headgear

    total retards

Laurel and Hardy would have done a more sensible job of releasing

  • Latest comments should be shown first

    -retard

  • You called me a "retard", in your email,

just showing even more what a clueless

    insensitive person/fisherman you are

  • Bungling amateur yanks-really furious

If youre going for big Pike, get proper disgorger (to take hook out) and dont stand on ceremony too long after bungling already, for photos for mum, or fish will die-

hey! you missed out the "high fives" while fish suffocating

  • You're stupid.

  • And you're not listening, so you will never learn-you will always be an amateur who makes fish suffer

I killed two big Pike, both around 18lbs mark, when I was a youth, just so I could take them home, to show them off to my family -never forgave myself, but I learned from this, and treat them with the greatest respect and care now-you are old enough to know better, but you are obviously not listening to the comments -me "stupid"? What does that make you?

  • Takeing your fish all the way home to show your mommy is what killed it. Keeping a Pike out of the water for 10 minutes doesn't hurt then at all. Stop pouting over the fact that you're a retard. Any kid knows fish breath in water. Keep them out of water long enough they die.

  • use jaw spreaders. amateurs.

  • Nice pike but the handling was very poor.

  • memory card?

  • Me and my dad went fishing in Canada and my dad had a 36" on the line so i took a picture and a HUGE 52" comes up and takes the 36 incer for lunch so we have a photp of the monstorus fish online but i forget what website it was 52" Northern Pike and weighed 53lbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • not so beautiful when they shred your fingers are they

  • poor show, you obviously know how to chin a pike so why did you not do that when unhooking? they open their mouths when youshin em so the hook would have been easier to remove, barbless hooks!!

  • stupid fool i should hold ur head underwater for as long as u kept that pike out of the water ! u care more about runnin' ur mouth on video than lack of oxygen for da feech

  • very ametaur

the fish suffered needlessly cos you dont know how to handle them humanely

    cruel mate

  • Full amateur job. poor fish

  • You should learn better release tactics. That fish was injured much more than needed.

  • death hang

  • In general its a bad idea to let the fish thrash around in the bottom of a boat if your planning on releasing them (which all pikes above a certain size should be).

And to the guy with the "eye poking tip". Please don't do that. Ever.

  • 37" at most

  • I agree, these are beautiful fish, however you write like you care about Pike yet you don't seem to know much other than how to catch one. They should not be handled with dry hands - Pike have a slime which protects them from potentially fatal skin infections. Then you roughly wrench the lure out!

When the sun's bright I can see Pike in the water at a river near me, occasionally being lucky enough to see one strike. It's an awesome sight - they go like a missile when they attack!

  • Nice fish.

  • if u stick ur fingers in a pikes eyes it perlazes them and its alot easier to get the hook out

  • nice size pike wat lake and a=state plz lol

  • WTF? A big northern? U gotta' be kidding me. If that is what u call a big pike, then try to fish them in Scandinavia, i landed a 8kilo pike, with my hand, and it nearly chew my hand off! I got stitch together with 29 stitches. Still got a nice scar.

  • You are obviously not nearly as adept as catching pike bare handed as this guy is then you idiot. "Yay me, I caught an 8 kilo pike and it nearly chewed my hand off! I got stitches and a scar to prove what a "great" fisherman I am."

    Fckwit.

  • you are horrible at spelling and grammar

  • re re RETARDED DONT PUT YOUR HANDS NEAR A FISH MOUTH THAT HAS BIG SHARP TEETH WHEN IT IS FLOPPING AROUND

  • It's all fun and games until the pike flopping in the boat bites you in the left nut!

Nice grab sir. I love catching pike too. Get the Y-bones out and they're a pleasure to eat.

  • click more info on the right...he gives you plenty of information

  • Nice fish and grab. I had the pleasure (and envy) last summer of watching the boat next to me land 2 large muskies (one trophy sized) with no nets. It made an impression on me. I later landed a 36 inch pike with no net. I am a bit nervous about a last second thrash joining my hand to the pike before a run. Robert - ever have any injuries from the hooks or teeth???

  • Thank you for your nice words about my big pike. I have only had one issue grabbing a big northern pike out of the water and that was with my 30 lbs pike. I had decided that if I ever hooked a pike that big I would take it to shore since we never have a landing net in the boat. Let me tell you that is my favorite fish story about trying to drive the boat and get to shore while still playing the fish, but when I got that big pike on shore its dieing effort was to put one fang in my finger ouch!

  • @northwoodsmn I've had a couple decide to take out their anger and hatred for having a hook sunk into their jaw on my digits. Usually the smaller ones seem to be more feisty when finally landed or attempting to land them. No matter how small, they always leave one dandy of an "impression". Pike have my respect, more than any other fish. They seem to hold a grudge or retaliate.
