Well we do have the fossils and genetic evidence showing that we came from earlier archaic hominoids tracing back quite a ways. Have you ever happened to read a text book on human evolution? For a long time I had a suspicion, that belief as a phase that we all go through, partly because I've heard claims by psychologists that priests tend to have personalities of 12 year olds; recently saw a nice "Why We Believe in Gods" lecture by Dr. Andy Thomson here on YouTube that confirms it.
So, we are dealing here with are kids, only big ones. Kids can be violent, they don't fully realize what resposibility is, and tend to use stupid "I'll call my big brother and he's a karatist" threats .

It was imposed on me in baptism and as a child. The main problem though is these people hate atheists for standing up for rights, which they would do if it was your rights being threatened by another religion.
It's always portrayed as atheist getting pissy and suing, when really laws are being ignored.

I dont base my oppinion off of extremist (evangelising doesnt fit in that category as it is not a form of abuse when used PROPERLY). Anyway hasnt christianity been restrained from schools already, but not other religions... @truth2350 Both sides of what? If you mean evolution and creationism then I disagree strongly. One is science, the other has never been published and passed peer review, instead they just lobby to have it put in science class.
As far as religion in school I don't mind it being taught as a subject, one that teaches what different religions believe.
I haven't heard of a case where other religions were being less restrained in school than Christianity.

@explosivoification At my middle and high school I used to go to, they made it very clear that youre not bring bibles or evangelise, yet in the hallway muslims had a whole section where they could pray or hand out pamphlets. If it were up to me you could bring beliefs without silencing someone's. umm but on that other note of Ron Paul, he pretty much wants to end the FED and get us to a fiat currency that isnt backed by gold (which is rumored to be fake LOL). @truth2350 Well you should be able to bring whatever book you want, shit I used to bring an encyclopedia of serial killers, the new testament and the anarchists cookbook into school (they eventually stopped me from bringing the encyclopedia). That was in Ireland where we don't have free speech so it says a lot if a school there stops you.
If you wanna pray, evangelize, or hand out pamphlets outside of class you should be able to, it's your own time.

Don't even start with Hitler, Pol Pot, etc. Christianity was promoted in the Nazi Party platform and supported by the church. Sure, there were despots who were atheists, but they weren't driven by their lack of faith. Religion has far more blood on its hands. Don't let the facts confuse you, though.

For a long time I had a suspicion, that belief as a phase that we all go through, partly because I've heard claims by psychologists that priests tend to have personalities of 12 year olds; recently saw a nice "Why We Believe in Gods" lecture by Dr. Andy Thomson here on YouTube that confirms it.
So, we are dealing here with are kids, only big ones. Kids can be violent, they don't fully realize what resposibility is, and tend to use stupid "I'll call my big brother and he's a karatist" threats .

I believe this is real. We atheists simply ask for proof- and that completely destroys their way of life. How empty is that? If a single question rocks your core belief system and your ethical guidance, then you are on poor footing.
