I know Joel IRL (the Grimes family was in the same homeschool group as mine) and he's certainly a very nice guy and an excellent photographer to work with! Thanks for doing this episode on him, he certainly deserves it.
It's really great to listen to someone giving advice especially after they have spend the best part of 30+ years getting themselves to a place where they can (in a way) relax. Where ever you look the message is the same... hard work pays!
I think more judicial editing and a better second camera placement would elavate this doc. There's too much waffle at the beginning. Joe's work looks superb, but I haven't got the time to get through his school experiences because you haven't made this appealing enough.
Joel- been a photographer a long time (about 30 years) and feelling a bit burned out. This was the most igniting and rekindling of my passion I have had in a long time- Thank you!
Joel Grimes, you are definitely one of my favorite photographer and role model!! Beautiful images and just a great person overall. Plus hey! You use Einstein monolights, too!
Joel... Inspirational beyond words. I've always admired your work and style. VERY generous of you to share like this. Thank you [FRAMED] for a quality production and selecting Joel as a subject.
Fantastic! You Guy's at [FRAMED] have raised the bar.I've enjoyed all of your episodes, and love the interview style. Joel Grimes is an inspiration to the photographic community! Now I find myself wanting to hear more of his music also. What was that song anyway??
WAW ! I'm just discovering Joel's work here and the only thing I can say is this is brillant, inspiring, motivational and so on.
It's 2:30am here in France and this makes me want to grab my camera and jump right outside the window. I really like Joel's personality and how he goes into the technical details in his explanations, we feel the passion for photography but also his goodwill to teach, and this makes a damn strong 47min video I learned a lot from ! Joel, please make instructional DVDs !!
