  • Looks like thats near Eastleigh turn-off on the m27.

Nice car being a 3dr, but jesus at least stage 1 it thats embarrassingly slow.

  • I've got a RR print out and it's 206bhp @ the flywheel and 205lbs of torque

Only mod is a K&N panel filter

  • I have a 2.5 V6 SRI with standard exhaust and if i put my foot to the floor all you would hear was my V6 on ANY road surface!!!!! He didnt even use his pedal he probs had cruise on!!! You can see the Vec aint even pulling... Come to a RR and put ur beasty ford to the test if ya like!!!

  • vectra is not meant for racing

  • im a vauxhall person even had a vectra gsi but cossie in another league. that vec is 192bhp std

  • i have a vectra GSi and they are a 2.5v6 producing about 198hp

i dont doubt that the rs is quicker but that aint exactly a race is it? and i was up the arse of an s4 right up to about 145mph then the v6 ran out of puff so the GSi aint exactly slow. they aint 250hp unless about 5k has been spent on the engine or its charged!

  • So you overtook him doing say 80 while he was doing 70? WOW!!!!

  • Cossie RULEZ!

  • I have a Vectra myself but i wouldn't even compare a run of the mill Vectra to a Cosworth, even a GSi with 193bhp is no match. I'd love to see a Vectra GSi *facelift* with a 4x4 conversion and a C20let up front, that'd be a good race. But still, my moneys on the Ford.

  • Gsi's are seriously slow for 190 horses....The torque is there but they weigh too much....Its like putting a metro engine in a land rover...

  • LOL uploader, the vectra was probably 200HP max and he definatly was NOT trying, you can hear a v6 vectra a mile away, i heard nothing, he was cruising. i'm not saying ur car isnt faster, just saying he was not trying at the time, if you spoke to him why not speak again and set up a decent rolling drag?

  • he did have his foot down but there is so much road noise as its a concrete surface.

plus his miss was filming aswell.

the car didn't seem as loud as normal vectras ive seen. he probably had a standerd exhaust. :)

  • then how come the ford focus won an independant test as the worlds most reliable car in 2006 or 2007.

audi's and mercs are brilliant cars but the after safe are crap when they go wrong.

  • your a fuking toilet and i bet you cant even drive you prick

  • @esraesuocs , the cosworths are brilliant cars

  • hmmm, looks like the vectra overtakes then pulls in only to find you screaming up its arse. doesnt look like the vectra even put his foot down. when they gsi's go you can bloody hear them. so to me it seems he wasnt even touching the throttle. mearly feathering it past you only to find your hammering it to slowly overtake him...

  • trust me he was flat out.

  • im not biased about either car but its obvious the vectra went past, indicated to pull in and maintained his speed, the sierra spat its dummy out at being overtaken by the vectra and floored it by the look if it.. so only the sierra driver felt the need to put his foot down

  • If you read the details it says that he said his car was faster than my standard cossie.

so we raced from 40mph to 70 mph.

but i know what you mean about having the need to put my foot down when someone over takes me.. or well i used to feel like that until the petrol prices went through the roof. full tank will only get me 160 miles. :-( lol

  • Looks like an old shagged preface lift version. Would be surprised if it had 180bhp left in it.

1/2 the converted 3.0l vecs on the owners club (vvoc) only just touching 240bhp so not sure where his 250 ponies come from. I have spent loads modding mine and only just over 220bhp and 240lb of torque.

    Veccy liar = fail.

Now if you was racing my vec it would be a diff story lol. My bhp is real and it goes well.

  • gsi's are around 185 - 190bhp nowhere near the 250bhp he is claiming the daft sod !!

They do respond well to a lightened flywheel and a set of tubular manifolds and do sound nice to boot ;)

  • he recond he had spent loads on the engine.

cams, head work and other stuff.

    it did sound good tho.

  • good old RS POWER !!
