  • TIGHT LIP

    WHAT DID YOU HEAR

    JENNIFER METCALFE

  • this was back in the 90's when u actually had to know how to sing to be recognized

  • What a feckin toon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is the epitome of vocal range and harmony. The tone quality is rich and and full bodied like a fine wine. The sounds of their voices glides through my ears like clouds across a blue sky; effortless & smooth. I wish that Michael Jackson had given them more time & guidance. Brownstone in my opinion was one of the best sounds of a female group ever. I'm sorry that these three ladies didn't survive as a group. Their careers should have lasted much longer with much more acclaim.

  • @DaddySweet100 They are actually back together with a new member, they performed at the Soul food festival a couple of Summers ago and they were on the Mo'nique show this past season. Two of them are married now I believe and at least one of them has a son.

  • @BlaqueReign25 Thanks for the info, I didn't know that & I'm glad to hear it. It's very sad to me when band/group members aren't able to work through differences for the sake of the group. I understand that selfish ego's & insecurities are hard to overcome in bands/groups. I also understand that greed, managers, record label execs, family members & outsiders come into play as well. In the end everyone looses, including their fans..

  • @DaddySweet100 Your Welcome! I agree 100%

  • @DaddySweet100 you are so right!

  • You got it!

  • @DaddySweet100 You summed it all up. I just love that base. If your lucky enough to hear this when you go out you just can't help rocking. Loved it the first time I heard it. The different tones are absolutely fantastic, and the original video - WOW. Absolutly fantastic. Why didn't anyone else pick them up!

  • @DaddySweet100 I second that emotion!!!!:)

  • @DaddySweet100 Lots of thumbs up to that my friend. I love them.

  • WOW! I remember playing this song over and over!!!! GREAT SONG!

  • Good gracious these girls can sing..........

  • People are saying that 4shore are rubbish and that mainstream is poor and everything (like on every video before the year 2000) and i agree. Mainstream is particularly poor, but if 4Shore hadn't performed this i would've never found this song and that would've been really lame, i thought what they did was a good version but i always prefer originals, so chill. At least because 4Shore did the song more people will know about this. Man, chill.

This is a great song btw

  • IS ONE OF THE SINGERS MARY J. B. ? SURE LOOKS LIKE IT.

  • I so miss girl groups like this, the 90's music was the shit(excuse my english) and still is.

  • Love this song.. first time I ever heard it was in a strip club..

  • @james1787 Ya! The "First King," on Western Ave., in Gardenia (Los Angeles) Across from the "Barbary Coast." Hahahahah! Me too!

  • 90"s, a great decade..good jobs, little war, low gas prices, good clubs and great music,,..the 2000's-now...well...

  • Who the hell is 4shore? Brownstone brought me here!

  • @ciaragal95 4shore is a group that is on x factor they are amazing you should check them out .

  • Ok people keep talking about a 4Shore cover of this song .... Who the hell is "4Shore"??

  • Another talented respected group getting the credit and recognition they deserved stolen by some third-rate remake... it's a shame.

4Shore was ass, and my generation's music (and apparently their taste in it) is piss-poor.

  • @jalenec wat are u crazy 4shore is out of this world u cant even put todays music in the same statemen as them an ppl are not saying tht 4shore was better we are jus saying tht it sounded as good for them to be men. so stop haten on then 4shore is the only boy group tht i have heard tht good sence Dru

    Hill

  • Tuuuuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeeeeee !!! Memories .. All good !

  • beautiful BLACK sistas

  • when i was a teen ager me and my sister use to sing this song all the time on the a train back in the day

  • dam I forgot i commented on this video I guess every body feels like I do.

  • i know many might disagree with me, but honestly, idc what anyone says i liked 4shore's version 1072819x better on xfactor ! damn it makes me mad they didnt make it !! i want them back and i wanna hear them sing more and perform ! now thats how u know someones good, when u just cant get enough of them! #Team4Shore, 4Everr -3

  • 4shore put me here

  • Too bad the pic shown is from their release WITHOUT Mimi Doby, "Still Climbing" :-) Although I have absolutely NOTHING against the beautiful Kina Cosper (pictured on the right) I loved this group then...and I still do now.

This song is emblematic of just how AWESOME R&B was in the 90's *sigh*

  • 47 people can't say it, do it, show it or prove it!

  • hi cabber how are today

  • hi my name is kia i love that song

  • artist suck nowadays !!!!! i miss real music :(....... i hope they get a clue one day ...

  • my teen/young adult years!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now those were crazy and FUN TIMES!

  • My kid years lol

  • @Rakena, thanks for posting the original version... Vevo only had the accapella version! These sisters had very powerful voices. Wish they would come back with some new material! Classic goodness!

  • I'm a little green man from Mars and the music on my planet doesn't come close to this!

  • 999reeZ stone.!

  • I fucked ts pocahontas to this

  • Brandy still has some of the best harmonies that remind me of Brownstone...I hate that she's an overlooked or neglected talent in favor of the "belters" IMO, singers who have big voices are good, but singers who can harmonize, and create chords with their own voice do it for me...But I guess harmonies are too complex, or not popular enough now for the attention of the general public of music listeners.

  • If you think this is fun, check out the young ladies along with Barry White's Love Unlimited Orchestra on the mash-up "If You Love Me/Love's Theme"

  • any chords of it??? please!!!

  • classic old school! wish today's music was like this! <3

  • sweet! New to you. Love your music. i am gonna seek more of your music. Thanks, lovely ladies.

  • I L-O-V-E this song...sing it LADIES:D

  • Three of the best solo voices ever...together, they are unbeatable. Feel it.

  • Aww makes me miss this era :'(

  • Alright!- :)

  • BROWN STONE YALL

  • This song gives me goosebumps. I would love to train my vocal chords to be as powerful as theirs. Geesh! *nods head to beat*

  • These heffas knew how to HARMONIZE!!!!! it seems like nowadays, outside of the NeoSoul artists, (Ledisi, erykah, Jill, India, etc.) the only ppl still doing three-part harmony are Beyonce, Kelly Rowland, and Fantasia. Rihanna and Britney need to start listening to Brownstone and The Clark Sisters. LOL

  • Remember when singers used to HARMONIZE???? I mean where have all the sangers gone? Im sorry but Rhianna aint getting it. Yes she does have tunes I like but she is NOT no sanger! Yeah I said it!

  • The music of my teen years! Some great memories. . .

  • the MJ touch...

  • michael jackson knew how to spot talent

  • for real i miss this kinda music

  • Old school at its best, Talents like this is hard to find. Now we know why god does not let us change the hands of time, so we can appreciate and realize the greatness in the past. Forever love and memory of these great talents
