The paukenschlag against free speech and the 1st Amendment continue on. How disgusting it is that a law enforcement official would use this tragic event to suggest our freedoms should be curtailed. But anyone with any sense know that there are many like this doofus who want to shut everyone in the nation up.
It is unconstitutional to pass laws to curtail our 1st Amendment rights based solely on how someone MAY react when exercising them.
As usual Keith, excellent commentary, regardless of the ravings of those on this page. Voices of reason will never be silenced by shouts of profanity. I couldn't believe that in Arizona any deranged person can buy a gun. I guess it's going to come down to the last man standing. Come to your senses America!
It's not a left or right wing issue but an ever increasing anti-government movement. The issue is that this movement has been validated by the incitement from the tea party. The tea party movement is a Trojan horse for these types of whackos and a haven as a "main stream" party for these groups of terror. Oh, they may condemn this act of terror NOW, but now is TOO LATE. You were warned of this outcome, but you were all "patriots" with free speech. Be a grown up now and own your consequences.
"He hits this one out of the park." No, he didn't. Olbermann has wished death on others many times before. These were the actions of a leftist anti-Semitic, mentally disturbed man. The shooter loved "Mein Kampf" and "Communist Manifesto" & hated the Bible. Conservatives were NOT involved in this madness.
Obama's gun metaphor: "If they bring a knife, we bring a gun." "They" are the American voters who do not agree with Obama's agenda.
No tea party involvement for this heinous massacre, Olby.
@ClassicFilm1957 Did you even bother to listen to what he said? He uses himself as an example of a purveyor of the rhetoric he's calling out. He apoligizes for it and calls on others to do so too. FYI, Mein Kampf is as far right as you can get. Olbermann is spot on here. The media needs to look in the mirror & remember that their words and images have consequences. The idiot in Alaska needs to do so too. Olbermann is far from mentally disturbed. You don't like his politics, don't watch!
No surprise the Democrats are already attacking conservatives for the shooting without looking at all the facts. Turns out the shooters was a fan of Mein Kampf and the Communist Mannifesto. Not even close to conservative. It's only a matter of time before Olbermann and his goons have lots of egg on their faces.
@StoogeWatcher Mein Kampf not even close to conservative??!! Where does Fascism fall on the political spectrum Einstein? Looks like someone failed political ideology 101!
If Keith Olbermann wants to find out who's poisoning political discourse in America, all he needs do is look in a mirror and see a major poisoner staring back at him. American political discourse will begin to heal the day Keith Olbermann shuts up.
@jimtrueblue99 Try listening to his commentary and you will hear him "looking in the mirror." You either didn't bother to listen or you're a complete moron!
@scottner uhhhh well. the reason he shot her was apparently because he was tired of government regulation of grammar as a recent internet post of his stated. Although he was described by one fellow student as "Liberal" the anti-government sentiment that was undoubtedly quintessential to guiding the actions of the sentiment. As liberals are "in power" anti-government sentiment would most likely come from the right. I see the point your making here, but i think there is more to this...
@scottner You are a pathetic excuse for a commenter! The shooter was far from liberal. He was anti-government, period. Which group has been attacking government relentlessly the past couple of years? The Tea Party. He may not have been a member but he sure thinks as they do (government is evil, government out of my life, etc.)
@scottner Where is your proof that the shooter "was a liberal who campaigned for Giffords?" The shooter was an anti-government psycho who should never have been sold a gun in the first place, let alone a semi-automatic weapon. These are the kinds of people who take the idiot queen of Alaska's cross-hairs ad literally. The language of both sides is vitriolic and has to stop.

Keith - what the hell kind of rambling piece of rambling crap was that?!?!
Don't give us all this weak "I apologize" garbage. You simply want to blame the conservative movement for this violence, so admit it.
Guess what, Keithy? The guy who did the shooting was a liberal who campaigned for Giffords, you twit!
Too bad, Keith. Can't use this one to point your finger at anyone except your own lefty liberals.
Olbermann - you are a pathetic excuse for a journalist.
