When I turned 53 I had a small but damaging full stroke. My heart went into a fast, Forceful, rhythm. My breathing mechanism was damaged. I was prescribed statins and my muscle tissue began to break down about 4 months after taking statins. I don't know if it's because of the statins or because of something else. I went into a stubborn Fibrillation. Got it ablated and it fixed it. It's been 4 months after ablation and my muscles continue to break down. The doctors think it's anxiety.
I've been taking 20mg of Pravastatin a day for about 5 months. I've had no muscle aches or anything along those lines. I, however, changed my diet and started exercising and not due to my doctor's advice but because Youtube videos suggested it. This guy says just that. The doctors hand pills out like candy and don't even put emphasis on diet and exercise. My advice is don't be afraid of statins... just don't think they are a miracle drug. Get on them until you can GET OFF of them.
I've been taking statins for 3 months now and i have constant muscle pain and weakness in both arms. since saturday my left arm has been agony i haven't been able to sleep or work with the pain yet my doc keeps saying i must have pulled it at work! what crap, i've been doing the same job for 9 years
This is the medical gimmick. They do not tell the truth as they are taken care by the pharmaceutical industry. You loose sexual desire; one of the moast important activity that is inevitable in your prime age.
A friend who's a nurse for 30 years told me she refuses to take the med even though her chol. is 275 because she sees too much bad side effects from patients. Then I talked to a pharmacist who takes the med for years even though he doesn't have high cholesterol cuz he likes the benefits of such med. I don't know what's right!!??? Meanwhile, I lessen meat intake, eat whole grains, & cut out sweet snacks.
I was prescribed simvastatin and lisinipril 4 years ago. Since then I was diagnosed with mild peripheral neuropathy with weakness in my right arm and leg. I also limp and have balance issues. I had always been athletic and healthy up until about 2 years ago. I blame this on these stain drugs. I went off of them two weaks ago and starting my own vitamin regimine with CoQ-10 , fish oil, etc..
These drugs have ruined my quality of life up to now.

This is complete rubbish, stat's are a modern day miracle drug. Yes, of course a healthy lifestyle, good diet and exercise are essential but as far as reducing cholestoral goes, I took a course of Simvastatin (one a day, at night) for a couple of months and it was a medicinal marvel. Stat's help millions of people world-wide everyday and are (sadly) a necessary pill to swallow (pun intended) for westerners one and all. Stop bashing stat's.
@00woolley According to the National Institute of Health, statins (drugs that prevent the liver from releaing good and much necessary cholesterol (Lipitor, Crestor, Tricor, etc.) kills 500 Americans each day. Not too bad for a "...modern miracle drug." huh?
The most important question to ask yourself is does my doctor know about this product and if not why?
Bios Life Slim is listed in the PDR it's a natural product that reduces bad cholesterol and increase good cholesterol without harmful side effects, it also helps with weight loss and diabetes without stimulants

@Francieska I have a really good friend that is told to keep taking these drugs and she has been very sick because of it. She is now having muscle failure and kidney and liver disease but her doctor says keep taking these, her doctor just keeps putting her on new statins everytime she says she hurts or has something wrong and the doctors don't care. They just want to keep her sick.
I also have high cholesterol very low HDL very high LDL and triglycerides as high as 425 I've been taking lipitor for almost 10 years? I haven't noticed anything?

My grandpa has been on cholesterol medication for 15 years, even after my mom told him the dangers and imploring him to use natural supplements like garlic instead. His cholesterol was so low that he was not able to synthesize vitamin D very well, shortly after which he got skin cancer. The effected area was removed, but he is still on cholesterol at the behest of his lying, insidious doctor...
Why are doctors so obsessed with prescribing this to patients. I was on simvastatin 20 mg for nearly 2 years. From the onset I was resistant to this, due to my personal reaserch, However my doctor told me this drug is 100% safe.
A few months ago I started to feel weakness on my right leg and also sharp pains.
I told this to my doctor and he told me not to worry about. I have now stopped taking this drug against my doctor opinion. My cholesterol was never high 4.8 so I don't really get it.
I have a hard time trusting a man who dyes his hair and is selling a book. I'm all for better diet and more exercise but to say that Statins don't have an up-side is disingenuous. Why don't you have him debate a cardiac surgeon (i.e. Dr. Vincent Gaudiani).

1000mg of Niacin per day will help lower your bad and riase your good. Be advised no matter what you hear , the No Flush Niacin is garbage , it does nothing for you. @Sub40H Syncope ? That sounds to me like you were taking a form of Niacin called Niaspan , which is a modified timed release pharmaceutical version which is only available by prescription. The Niacin I'm talking about is the straight up shit you get from places like Wild Oats & GNC , the flushing kind that 85% of the American population is afraid of taking because they fear 15 minutes of very minor discomfort LOL. Be suspicious, be very suspicious.
WHY doesn't the doctor get you to change you diet first?
They are just dishing them out like smarties because the government TELLS them to. ( Plus they get paid )
I will NOT take them, so my doc can shove them up his arse.
WHY were they rushed out so quick?
The NHS never has enough money, does it?
The government does NOT want you to live longer, the welfare state cannot afford it.
